You know there is a real possibility this could could cut down on American foreign wars. It seems people didn't have much problem sending men to die for no reason. Men after all have always gone to war. Politicians are gonna have a much harder time now and I think the anti-war movement will likely get a lot stronger. Who knows.

This doesn't look like a feminist post. This looks like a trad con post. Trad con's have never been "pro equality". They have always advocated for gender differences. Being anti-Gender Sameness is perfectly in keeping with Trad Cons.

Somebody should start a troll petition to give to women who complain about their newfound equality asking them to sign it if they don't want to register for selective service (oh, and by the way give up their right to vote at the same time). So many would sign it.

Register for the draft > Be sufficiently fit to get drafted > Get drafted.

Also, being drafted just means basic training. It doesn't mean going to war or dying.

Drafted doesn't mean combat. The women will be put in some domesticated role on base at best, while still being labeled as hero's for going to war.

With that said, there is a chance the author of this one wasn't feminist or tumblrina. Personally, as a woman, I really, really, don't want to be subject to the Selective Service. I would happily give up my right to vote, and probably other citizen's rights, to avoid being conscripted to the army. I have also never been an advocate for "women's rights," but I still think it's worth mentioning.

It's alarming to think she's merely ignorant that men register for the draft by law (though I can see a house without sons or fathers never bringing it up) as it makes me wonder just how many other women are clueless about it and how many mothers will be unhappily surprised.

If I am ever drafted he only ones I am going to war with are the ones who drafted me. If I am going to die then atleast I will have done some good this way.
