I couldn't believe it. I'm cut. I don't resent or harbor any anger towards my parents for the decision to do so, even if I do sometimes wonder how different it would feel. But for a woman (who's not a feminist) to be so shallow and culture coddled to say something like that blows my mind.

"I wouldn't ever have sex with a post-mastectomy patient!"

That was my retort. I didn't mean it, I was just trying to get her to see the opposite coin. She started to yell at me, then stopped and said, "And that's your right." I don't know what she was going to yell, but it was quite clear I had hit a nerve.

I've been a subscriber to MR for a few months now, and I'm a fan of what you guys stand for. But I honestly used to think stories like this were so uncommon, so unheard of except on this subreddit, that it was slightly exaggerated. I'm still completely blown away by her statement. We remain close friends, and haven't discussed it since, but just knowing she feels that way puts me off.
