Like basically nothing. The police, media, and people in general almost always will believe the woman no matter how outlandish her claim might be. The most you can do is pray that it never happens to you.

One fantastic thing you can do, if you’re in the U.S. is do not talk to the police..

You get accused? And the police come knocking? STFU. Say nothing. And I mean nothing. Invoke your fifth amendment protections, and STFU.

You don’t even acknowledge that you know her. You say nothing. And that includes talking to her. Chances are, if she calls or texts you after a false accusation, they’re listening and she’s trying to trap you. Say nothing. Do not respond. Block her.

I have a good friend who may be the best defense attorney in my state. He’d say the same thing. Ask him out if all the clients he’s had who’ve lost, how many of them spoke to the police. He will say, “all of them.”

If they can’t even determine if you have ever even met her, their ability to pin a false accusation on you drastically reduces. Or if they can’t even prove you two were together on the night in question. Etc, etc, etc.

You can’t unwittingly incriminate yourself if you’re not talking.

My suggestion: Most restaurants have cameras at POS and the door. If it’s not going well let her know. Tell her you want to end the evening and head out. Then face time a friend for 15 minutes from your car. You have a witness. You have phone records stating your location.

A lesson I live by, all interactions with females for any reason happen under camera, witnesses and paper trails. I also do not train or or go on individual projects with women for my safety.

It is your word against hers and even it is almost guaranteed to be her.

There is never a 100% fail safe way but in general:

do not sleep with drunk girls unless it’s someone you know and absolutely trust and there is no ambiguity about consent.
do not sleep with anyone unless you 100% trust the person.
if you touch someone in public (eg in a bar or club) make sure there are always witnesses around.

Have evidence that negates or makes it extremely difficult to develop a credible false story. Save all chat conversations, have as many video or voice recordings as possible, keep a log of activities, that sort of thing. Conversations shortly after sexual intercourse are particularly useful and easy to have.

If you're like almost the entire population and you didn't anticipate that something like this could happen, then you're really screwed. You can gather evidence later but it's very difficult, mostly it will depend on whether your accuser is stupid or impulsive. The most important thing you can do is to make sure she doesn't try to add new lies by cutting off all possible contact with the accuser.

Oh, and not living in places like spain, where there is no presumption of innocence for men.

The best thing to do is say nothing except "I didn't do it" especially to the police. Where people get themselves in trouble is in trying to explain what happened and trying to "prove" themselves innocent. They often say things that can be taken out of context and used against them. Say nothing then it is up to the accuser to prove the crime.

Firstly, you don't prove your innocence because under the system of justice all must be deemed innocent until judged guilty in a court of law via due process (unless you happen to be caught up in Title IX actions or family courts).

However, women are forcing the threshold for harassment, sexual assault and rape so low, by effectively making their subjective feelings of discomfort a trigger, that it is becoming easier to prove because men are being unwittingly trapped by things they never knew were sexual assaults. In addition, consent is being progressively transferred from something a woman has to enthusiastically express to something a man has to interpret. Tapping a woman on the shoulder in some jurisdictions is now tantamount to sexual assault (although how a shoulder is sexual is beyond my understanding, probably because it belongs to a woman).

It's not possible to protect yourself from false accusations because the bar is so low and women are believed over men, since women have been, and still are, largely protected.

You can't. Given one man was arrested for walking past a woman at a railway station, in the presence of absolutely exculpatory CCTV and hundreds of eyewitnesses failing to noticing a sexual assault which was supposed to have happened right in front of them, it's pretty clear at this point that in extremis, any woman can have any man arrested at any time for any reason or none. As I've often said here, let's keep this in perspective: this is not common, or at least it's not clear it's common because most cases like this never go anywhere. Most women are not this completely insane. I'm not going down a "yes all women" pathway on this and nor should anyone else; this is a tiny minority of crazy people, and that sort of absolutism is what gets hardline feminism a bad name. We should not stoop to their level.

Still, this sort of thing absolutely can happen and there is next to nothing you can do about it.

It's also worth pointing out (because people get the wrong idea here) that in many jurisdictions, anyone can have anyone arrested for any reason or none. If I claim anyone's stolen my wallet, that person is very likely to be arrested. Certainly that was police protocol here for a long time; you may only spend a night in the cells before being brought before a court the following day and released on the basis the case is ludicrous, but you will be dragged off in chains one way or the other and it won't be a nice experience. It's possibly even worse for men accused of sexual assault and related offences, because the police are terrified of being seen as soft on that sort of crime.

The main problem is that it'll take months or years to be found innocent, and in that time, if you're accused of a sexual offence, your life will have been comprehensively ruined as hardline feminism laughs in your face.

I am, thank any available deity, not in the dating market, but if I were I'd be very, very, very careful, to the point of making video and audio recordings. Naturally you'll want to make very sure those never leak, as in some jurisdictions you'd be breaking the rules by recording someone, but in the (very, very unlikely) event anything does go wrong, well, I'd rather be prosecuted for illegally recording someone than for a sexual assault that never happened.

Purely fabricated accusations are rare. You are unlikely get an accusation from a date where nothing happened. What usually happens is let's say you had drinks, you sleep together, and then she claims she was too drunk too consent. Or she claims you didn't ask her for consent. Its difficult to fabricate a rape story from pure fiction. And if you do get falsely accused, its easier to defend if you didn't even go home with her.

So the best idea is probably to avoid going home with a girl unless you are confident she is not crazy.

Rules for men

Men are always assumed to be the threat. That will not change.
The woman decides what harassment, sexual assault or rape is. It may not pass legal muster but an effective legal defense will cost thousands. There are other social costs.
Always assume a woman is not interested until proven otherwise. If a woman seems to be flirting, she is not, she is just being polite, its only wishful thinking.
Don't flirt or appear too friendly. It is highly likely showing romantic/sexual interest will not be welcome and potentially seen as threatening. See rule 2

Strangely something happened to me when I was in lower school, being young and stupid a bunch of boys in my year thought it would be funny to buy condoms from a shop in Paris during a school trip.

Me and my friend decided we would buy them too, after purchasing we put them in our pockets and went on with the trip. Later that night I was called over by a teacher where they had said a female friend of mine had accused me of saying that I was going to use it on her, funny thing was that I was nowhere near that certain girl all day and she wasn’t in the friendship group I had.

During the trip nothing more was said about it until the next week when we got back to the UK where I was pulled into the head of years office where I was told there had been a complaint by the parents of the girl. They asked me what happened and my story was completely different to what the girl had said.

It affected me in school from then on people refused to talk to me, until a couple years later when I found out the girl had lied to the teacher and she came up to me and told me she had.

Don't date women who dress like skanks, sluts or are too fashionable. Try the modest ones. When you are in Tinder or a dating app, always check her bio and what she is written and if it sounds arrogant. If she hasn't written what type of relationship she looks for, like casual/serious, ask her on the chat that question.

I had a false allegation like a decade ago. I threatened to sue her, even called her mom and told her to lawyer up her dumbass kid. It worked back then, and that threat should work even more now that we just had a publicized trial about just that same thing.

That there is a huge difference in standards taken by:

Actual courts (beyond reasonable doubt, but in case of rape, of course, with some inevitable reservations)
That US Campus bazinga (preponderance of evidence)

The #2 is terrifying, with cases like a guy was sexually assaulted by a drunk girl AND RECORDED IT and still got expelled.

Also, you drank 2 beers, she drank 2 beers, you are the rapist (by #2, but not by #1)

The thing is, if I were put in that situation, I would be aggressive with my case; tell the court she’s making shit up and trying to get money outta me, and even add some name calling in there. Point isn’t to protect yourself; it’s what you do when you eventually become accused. When a woman accuses you, you dominate over her back till your narrative wins, and if it doesn’t, then be happy you at least tried, but that’s my solution.
