So I just turned 18 and this Ukraine war is the first big war I’ve been exposed to through mainstream news.

Should we be concerned about being potentially drafted for those of us 18-25 who signed up for the selective services when we got our driver’s licenses?

I know people usually say that unless American soil is under attack they won’t need draftees and blah blah advanced military technology etc. But then again men were drafted for Vietnam, which was not on American soil, correct?

I don’t want to wait until I get a drafting letter in the mail to gtfo the U.S. and be apprehended at an airport for trying to go to another country. If on the news I see a reinstatement of the draft being voted on I’d be out of here within the next 3 days. I don’t want to end up like the Ukrainian men 18-60 who can’t leave the country.

But overall is this something to even be concerned about considering the current state of things?
