Does danger make a job more important?

I'd say so, otherwise anyone would do it. It takes a special kind of crazy to do that shit at a reasonable cost. (Which only has to be reasonable because they have to hire a shitload of workers.)

Does physical difficulty make a job harder than mental difficulty?

Same as above.

In your mind, somehow, maybe it is. But you can't discount an entire industry because you don't think that they are working hard enough since they might not lose a finger on the job. You can't say that women don't contribute anything at all because they are less likely to get hurt in their occupation.

I'm not discounting them man. I'm saying, having been on both sides of this coin, mapping a job is way easier then putting it into action. Geez, engineers have to be the touchiest bastards when it comes to this conversation.

Engineers don't build anything. It is not a craftsman profession, it is a white collar profession and there is nothing wrong with that.

As many people have already tried pointing out to you, men aren't the only ones who were building it.

And as I've told many people, no one said they were the only ones building it.

So the statement "Everything you see was built by men supporting their families" is false by either omission or misrepresentation of facts

It's like saying men fought WWII. Were there some women who fought? Absolutely, but they were so rare as to be an oddity, not the rule. The overwhelming number of soldiers in WWII, and the overwhelming number of construction workers historically and today are/were men.

The sign itself does not give credit to women who were there, or men who were not supporting families. So not only is it wrong to just claim it was Men,

Most reference I see nowdays to those who fought in WW2 mention "Men and Women." What also needs to be taken into account is the times difference. The roles of men and women during that age were far more rigid.

What does it require in your opinion to be counted? Does the person directing traffic with the "slow" sign count? What about the foreman? They aren't actually touching any building materials.

"Working in the field" huh? Sounds like maybe you don't value work you can't physically see. Do the engineers that design the i-beams or the chemists who figure out the proportions of the cement count? What about the person who works for purchasing and buys the machinery that's used on the build site. What about the sales rep that works with the purchasing department to make sure all the equipment is on the job site? How about the person who maintains the supplier's database of inventory? How about the company that makes the drill bits you're going to use on the site? What about the Chinese assembly line worker who makes the blanks that, say, Kennametal cuts into the drill bits that you'll use on the site?

These aren't rhetorical, I'm genuinely interested in where you draw the line.

Might be because I didn't use the correct word. By "working in the field" I didn't mean only the one who work on site but people working in the construction business.

I do value work I can't physically see, it is my work (Began as a drafter then engineering)

As for where I stand, I was refering to the Architects argument you were throwing around.

These aren't rhetorical, I'm genuinely interested in where you draw the line.

Simple, I don't draw any line. The flyer is about men that build buildings, half of the answer trying to disprove that at the time of my post were people talking about architects. I know for a fact that architects don't build. Heck, I don't have the pretension to say I built something if I designed it and I do more than Architects.
