I study at a far left, social justice etc University.

Last time at a group presentation some girl presented the statistics on alcoholism showing only the stats of women (10-20% or something), then my (female) Prof. interrupted them and told em to write the male numbers on the wall too.

Unfortunately she is old and almost retiring, pretty sure all younger profs would’ve ignored that.

Oh and how often I heard phrases like "women are a minority", bitch, you are the majority wtf are you talking...

This is how it works, if it's a mainly woman's issue, it's a woman's issue. If it's an issue that affects us about the same, it's a woman's issue. If it affects mainly men, it's can still be considered a "woman's issue", a "social" issue, or doesn't get acknowledged as an issue.

Just look at stats on things like war or genocide. Men are the main victims, but it's never considered a male issue.

Society has no regard for men.

This is not a numbers game and it can't be a gendered issue if it affects both genders, even if it is only one person.

Isn't sexual discrimination a crime under the USA Constitution (except for specific instances of important benefit)? So wouldn't any gendered law be breaking the Constitution?

From what I understand of the Constitution, it is about "we the people" and does not hold women as a protected class. So, how can laws be crafted to be sexually discriminatory and protect women, but not men, and remain Constitutional?

Do women not understand that nagging and coercing men to do something they don't want to do is the equivalent of men harassing and coercing women for sex? Yet for men it's a crime, but for women there is no mention in the legal statutes. After years of nagging, is it not likely that men see this tactic of women as acceptable behaviour and turn it back on them with persistent coercion for what they want (sex). Why are women so surprised to receive what they have given? However it is the men who are criminalised over this and women seen as the victims, when it's highly likely womens unmoderated nagging and control over sex was the cause. What goes around comes around.

Something I have never understood is that women are uncomfortable with men in general looking at their bodies and deliberately wear clothing to protect themselves from view or to facilitate what they want men to see. Women do not walk around naked and require men to not look under threat of punishment: they protect themselves from view. Yet when it comes to touching women, men are required to not touch under threat of punishment for sexual assault, however women take no measures to protect themselves from unwanted touch and basically walk around "naked" in that respect. One would think that if protection was so important, touch would be prevented as much as possible instead of punishing the offender after the fact when any damage has already been done. It seems like women prefer to be sexually assaulted and to seek justice than preventing harm in the first place.

I agree that men’s rights also need focus, but the context for this post is that we really only know what strokes look like in men so women go undiagnosed and are more likely to be turned away from medical assistance. Hopefully their post was a call for more research, not to make an issue unnecessarily gendered.

Add to it that women live a bit longer than men, so if there are more old women than men, and the older you are, the higher the cache you get a stroke, but men still get more... hmmmmm.......As if it was skewed because men have more factors contributing to getting it, like stress.

Still a good enough halfway split, and it's not even exact numbers from a reference to a meta-analysis or something with sources and known uncertainty.
