I don't think anyone who's been around this sub for long has forgotten the massive amount of vandalism that happened with men's rights related pages a couple years back and the admins who were part of a "feminism wikigroup" who not only allowed it to happen but were part of it. Wikipedia is a complete shitshow when it comes to anything even remotely political.

I love how this is apparently the most controversial sub. What about /r/atheism, /r/prolife, /r/strugglefucking, /r/conspiracy, /r/prostitution, /r/israel, /r/ainbow, /r/ImGoingToHellForThis, none of these are controversial? Only talking about the rights of men upsets whoever wrote this article. Besides, what does controversial mean in this context? How do you measure something like that? Controversy among who?

It's ridiculous. They are happy with this:

But when I tried to amend it thusly, it was quickly reverted:

So, it's perfectly alright to allow someone to stop reading while thinking that it's been reported that SPLC called us a hate group, but clarifying it in such a way to as be factually correct and not allowing the reader an easy way to stop reading without having the factual truth is for some reason not allowed. Apparently I wasn't being 'neutral' - but I don't see what the problem was considering the very next paragraph already goes into detail about how SPLC never designated us a hate group. I was just trying to prevent anyone reading up to that sentence and leaving satisfied that yes, we were a hate group. Meh.

Wikipedia: Opinions good, facts bad.

The things we say, really aren't, but the fact that we're saying it is.

Controversial isn't good or bad, it just is. If you're opinion is out of what is established, there's gonna be controversy. I wouldn't take offense.

If MensRights is on it.. then Feminism should be on it too.

While I don't agree with tarring and feathering MensRights, you guys aren't exactly blemish free either.

Especially after what happened in that discussion thread about the kid who was suspended for bringing his My Little Pony backpack to school. Some people just couldn't resist blaming him and jumping down the throats of fans in general.
