I don't think it's a question of balls so much as the general public beyond Reddit seeing paternity uncertainty as some soap opera Maury/Springer bullshit that is nowhere near the top of their political concerns

The government is fine with the status quo because there is no financial incentive. There's no scenario where the government comes out ahead financially if the wrong guy wants to get off the hook.

Even if he can prove he's not the father, best case scenario: someone else will be on the hook, worst case scenario: the government ends up having to pay for it through welfare. They might as well force the guy to pay for a kid that's not his.

If a sense of justice equals "having balls", it means your statement about the government is correct.

The state doesn’t care because this is not an issue or situation that effects or motivates the average voter. It also has little to no effect on the economy or business interests. The only people who care about this issue are a tiny subset of the population that the lack popular support, economic or political power necessary to get legislation passed on a federal level.

I think what the government really fears is women continuing to not have kids. In many countries the low birth rate is at a crisis level and the US isn’t far behind. The government has to kiss women’s asses (more even than they currently do) or the country will cease to exist. So expect it to get “worse” for men/ seen as more fair by women.

The government doesn't have metaphorical "balls." The government in this case is just the collectivised will of taxpayers, who want to find the easiest way to get someone else paying the bills. They realise that beta boy over there has a good job, is meek and obedient etc. and is an easy mark, so they shake him down. It really is that easy. They'd like it if women paid 100% themselves instead just as well, but in real life women are women, are often shiftless, and demand someone else pay their way, so they look for a man instead/additionally.

Just like on the playground with lunch money. Society isn't even eternal high school, it's eternal middle or elementary school.

Men are happy to pay deadbeat dads cash under the table then foot the bill for sexually successful men. Men are happy to claim that “men have no rights and shouldn’t be responsible for paying for unwanted children” which is a sanctioned endorsement of government assistance, which comes out of their paychecks.

Men don’t want to submit their DNA to test or prove their paternity because of paranoia. If they did want that, it would have been voted into federal policy thirty-forty years ago.

Men’s current “policy” is to pretend that fathers have no responsibility if they didn’t want the child, which firmly endorses deadbeat fathers hiding from their debts while red pilled men foot the bills with taxes.

I think that in non divorce cases the woman should be on her own with raising the child if the dad walks out
