Female faces have several factors to consider, symmetry, proper feminine ratios and neoteny. These blend to create hotness, cuteness or beauty. Beauty is the perfect combination of all three. Hotness is a small amount if masculinization and less neoteny. cuteness is an abundance of feminization without any masculinization+youth

Angular female faces are "hotter" because they lack love inducing neoteny and as they are a little masculinized generate lust rather than protective love. That's what hotness is, lust enducing, that's what it's opposite cuteness is, love inducing

Angular faces in women are a sign of sexual maturity. It is the opposite of neoteny. So it's not surprising that men associate those features to a sexy woman or a slutty woman. It triggers the horny reflex but not the protective one in men.

men and women have totally different tastes in women. totally. I think rail-thin models with wide-set eyes (think like Gemma Ward and Candice Swanepoel) are the epitome of beauty whereas most of the guys (and lesbians) I know go for curvier women with gentler, softer features. I do not see the appeal of Alison Brie or Katy Perry at all but guys go nuts for them.

I think high fashion models appeal more to women just like bodybuilders appeal more to men.

Fashion models sell clothes to rich old women who want to feel like they still "have it going on", like a rich old man buying a Ferrari.

I think men don't just like one type, they can like Olivia Wilde's angular face but also Monica bellucci's softer face.

Edit: I also think that men rationalize their taste to get turned on the most by what's most available to them. They associate some traits to being more available or more loving and like pavlovian conditioning they get more turned on, avoiding to waste time on women that wouldn't give them time of the day.

Out of curiosity I rarely see lady boner pictures with tons of hair. I think women don't like men who shave, many would like a naturally hairless (on the chest and back) guy.

In this thread someone told me that a woman who I considered gorgeous had masculine features. This had never occurred to me whatsoever previously (although I did know that I like tallish and somewhat curvy women, not really petite girls), but since I was told this I have noticed that I am inclined toward this.

I also realised recently that two women who I think are gorgeous have very similar and quite distinctive features. You can see them here, on the left is a young Martina Hingis and on the right Lara Bingle. Both have prominent foreheads, cheeks that stick out, similarly shaped and proportioned faces.

Whereas cute, girl-next-door types typically don't appeal to me at all. /u/future_space_boobs mentioned Katy Perry; she just does absolutely nothing for me. If she asked me out, I would have to politely decline.

I think that what we will be attracted to is quite deeply enshrined in our DNA. There has to be a genetic reason why I don't find an international sex symbol remotely attractive.

Women under 30 like men who are relatively hairless. Once the approach and hit the wall, they start to prefer hairy men as its seen as a provider trait.

Non-lesbian women and gay men have god awful ideas of beauty in women. It's on some other level of "What's wrong with your eyes?"

One thing I've noticed is that men and women can both easily judge who's aesthetically good looking within their own gender, but are both completely useless at judging sexual attractiveness.

There's obviously quite a large overlap, but a lot of models are perfect examples of people who - on paper - tick all the boxes for beauty, but have mediocre sexual attractiveness.

This is what you also see with guys and muscles. If you see a muscular, well-proportioned guy with low body-fat, it looks very aesthetically pleasing to a man (not in a sexual way), however, to women, the guy will lack sexual attraction because he's overly muscular and his body-fat is too low.

if you are a man with low testosterone, you are more likely to be attracted to the 1st type, low estrogen women.

if you are a man with high testosterone, you are more likely to be attracted to the 2nd type, high estrogen women.
