I wonder, will societies outside of the west start to perceive the west as not worth emulating as the dysfunctional aspects of western dating culture and gender dynamics fester enough that it becomes blatantly obvious to outsiders?

Right now, we as a civilisation(North America/Oceania/Europe) are seen as the the closest to the ideal when it comes to protecting individual freedoms, high living standards, women's rights, religious plurality and general tolerance. Societies that were quickly developing in the 80s and 00s like Eastern Europe or East Asia wanted to emulate the west when it came embracing certain social movements and cultural norms because they saw how content many people in our societies were back then, even if on occasion we experienced social strife and reckoning by a voiceless minority that was eventually resolved or ameliorated through cultural critique or social programs.

But with the tanking of marriage and birth rates, increasing animosities between the genders and increasing loneliness, are we becoming a warning to the global south to what could happen to their societies if they fully embrace modernity and social liberalism without limits?

I mean for example, I can totally see a successful conservative reactionary movement in the parts of the industrialising global south who are seeing recent gains in female rights, social liberalism and sexual expression if censors allowed the younger generation to get hooked on dating apps and allow the traditional dating scene to be upended by the same kinds of brutal dating patterns and trends that these dating apps encouraged in the west which contributed to our unequal dating market and general male discontent.

We already see urbanised post industrial countries that still maintain some patriarchy like Korea weaponise LV young men's general discontent and anti feminism stemming from their lack of dating success, unequal conscription laws and economic disenfranchisement to attemp to roll back the progress that was being made for women's rights and actually have discernible impacts on policy and social attitudes towards certain women.

The west has pretty much politically nerfed low value male voices whilst elevating womens, so there isn't much fears of an "LVM uprising" . But this isn't the case in many countries where traditionalism reigns, men still have some power over women and where the patriarchy still thrives and feminism hasn't established deep roots in state and social institutions.

Im just wondering as things get worse here and more people air the wests dirty laundry about our dysfunctional gender and dating dynamics on social media, it might become more difficult to entice oppressive societies with growing economies such as those in the muslim world to give female empowerment, social liberalism and individual freedoms a go if those in power like undesirable/beta patriarchal men only see downsides to giving up power and liberalising in the long run?

Remember, to liberate women most western societies needed men to give up power. And during the feminist and sexual revolutions, advocates gave compelling reasons to end the status quo. But how do you get men in the global south to give up power in the domestic, social, economic snd political sphere when they can clearly see downsides in other societies where men conceded power to women and traditional courting had been upended by modern dating? This is my main concern as an ex muslim who has family overseas who uses RPers like Andrew Tate to rubbish idea of social liberalism and female liberation as being a net good to society or men.

I think the west is slowly becoming a liability to the cause of social liberalism if we keep avoiding these issues.
