It seems as though you think being visually stimulated and objectifying someone are the same thing - thin line, but they’re not.

Objectification is the act of viewing a women by their looks only, and only valuing what they have sexually - essentially talking about, viewing and treating women as objects, as lesser. Being visually stimulated is primarily being attached to looks, but being visually stimulated doesn’t come with the added issues mentioned above. ie. You’ll still consider how visually attractive she is when dating her, but it isn’t the only factor. ie. you’re still willing to treat her as another person regardless on whether you want to sleep with her or not.

Some men do indeed objectify women - but let’s not pretend you speak for all men here

Cishet males such as yourself tend to see male sexuality through the same predatory and injurious lens that women do; not surprisingly since you have an outgroup bias towards them. But in reality male sexuality is not any more dysfunctional or problematic than female. The two co-evolved, in essence men are what women have made them and vice versa.

Males are sexual specialists at the individual level and generalists as a population. Women are the opposite. In other words, males focus sexually on specific traits and build their sexual and romantic identity around these, creating a huge range of diversity in preferences for the male sex as a whole. Women want jack of all trades that score at least average in every metric of desirability, resulting in the monolithic archetype of every romance novel.

Both types of sexuality can be expressed lovingly or harmfully. Both are beautiful and ugly, sources of great joy and sorrow for our species.

But also I'm single and have never been out on a date and I'm pretty sure I'm not ugly, so I feel like you could also be wrong about the idea that all men don't care about anything but looks.

This should be a hint to you that "objectify" is a dumb word invented only to perform strawmen fallacies.

You see men being attracted to a human being physically, so, not to objects, and then have an open mind regarding this person's personality. And you decided to call it objectifying.

On the other side, you see women being picky on both physicality and personality. And you decided that being very picky and considering most men as bad was somehow more valuing and more "humanizing".

The problem is just in your eyes.

If men truly only cared about (in your words) "how they can be used to satisfy their sexual thirst", imagine a situation where you have two identical looking women. If one had severe mental issues and the other did not, as long as the mental issues didn't get in the way of sex, are you saying that men wouldn't care about those issues, and would "rank" both women equally?

You know how when women give dating advice, its never how to be physically attractive? It's always shit like "Good communication, be a good listener, etc"? That's because they're imagining a guy they already find physically attractive, and explaining what would make him holistically attractive.

Guys do the same thing, in reverse; they imagine a girl with a good personality, then describe what they'd want her to look like.

Men don’t have sex with objects but with other living, breathing humans.

Wanting to have sex with someone is not objectification.

And its perfectly allright not to want to do anything else with that person, especialky when s/he is lame/boring/bad. Lots of women are.

Want to see objectification? Go to Ukraine where about 2 million men (total on both sides) have been forcibly drafted to a war and are being used as a cannon fodder. 200k+ KIA probably 5xmuch more wounded.

Ain't that the truth. I base a woman's entire value as a person off her looks and fitness and youth.

I have lived in many different nations all over the world and one thing that I've recently realized is that, although I see hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of attractive young women - I don't really see middle-aged women, old women, or even plain-looking or overweight women.

That should be impossible. I figured my eyes do not register the existence of the women who aren't young or hot. How shallow and superficial can a guy be, haha.

I'll tell you how much he can be!

I remember back in college dating this chick who was absolutely insufferable.

She was so narcissistic and elitist that she would only deem to talk to people she found to be aesthetically pleasing. I mean, she wouldn't even talk to the girls unless they were attractive. I remember watching classmates of ours trying to talk to her right in front of her - female classmates - and she just ignored all of them, wouldn't even look at them.

But she was a 18 year old Natalie Portman, with that slim, narrow, ballerina dancer body, and I was in lust.

I can't really blame these red pill kids for simping after hot chicks because I did the same. Except I actually got some. Go lift some weights and develop social skills, and these kids can get to do it too.

Can also depend on age. Young men will be far more superficial than older man as a result of experience or lack thereof.

Can also be upbringing. Learned behaviours and the environment a man is brought up in that changes the way he sees women.

Can also be down to physiological traits of the man and woman.

So it isn't as black and white or easy to decipher the defining factors, but I get at what you are trying to address.

I could see how you would reach that conclusion from the emphasis here on casual sex, mainly by men. I wonder about them. But men and women do some version of the same thing: assume that an attractive person is also a good person, despite not really knowing anything about them. And so they want that attractive person, not only to fulfill their lust, but because they think that person will be as good a match for them as they are good looking.

You can be viscerally in lust with someone without objectifying them.

Objectifying them is reducing them merely to how much they turn you on.

I feel tremendous lust, desire and physical attraction to those I chose to date. But I still see them as people who are more than their body parts.

Plenty of men can do the same.
