I have experienced ghosting, awkward interactions, and sometimes some very blunt responses. One girl I dated for awhile got asked out quite a bit while we were dating. There were several times strangers bought her flowers at work (she is a nurse), and she was happy to just be able to tell most men she was already seeing someone. One time though, she was offended that a man asked her out. It kind of took me back when she described it. She was basically offended that he would even think she was in his league. “I could have professional football players if I wanted, and this guy somehow thinks he has a chance”. I guess she though him asking somehow reflected on her own value. Needless to say, this woman was a bit of a narcissist, and the relationship didn’t work out. I still have some scars from it to be honest. She was very demanding and controlling.

Anyway. I’m curious about how that experience is for women. What is it like when a man you are not interested in asks you out? What is usually the source of the disinterest? How do you usually let him down? What is your threshold for giving someone a chance, vs. just never even trying?
