Look, l understand that people are conditioned one way or the other socially. That is to say, people react differently to being asked or told to do something based on their perception. For example, if a woman believes a man should be "dominant" she will probably have formed the perspective that a guy should not be asking her many things but rather, he should be telling her.

Asking and making a statement are the same thing, they are making a suggestion. Which is why I think it’s strange to obsess over a man telling or asking. For example, making a big deal about a man telling a woman he made reservations for a restaurant or asking her if she wants him to make reservations. Plus these restaurants charge you for making reservations and then cancelling lmao…

For the most part, we only speak to receive an ideal response. If a guy tells a girl "give me your phone number", he's still really just saying "can I get your phone number"?

“You're going to give me your phone number" and “i’m gonna get your phone number" are still just asking with no action. It's like, ok, you told her man, but is she going to do it? Are you actually going to physically take her number from her? Majority of guys aren't going to try to rip a girls phone out of her hand and find the number or force it out of her, for the reasons we all know and cherish.

Anyways, I also believe both asking and telling are still leading, by suggestion. However, neither are dominant. The only thing truly dominant is taking action, and i’m sure the ladies do not want all men to be dominant 24/7.
