I believe most people understand that the goal of being with a sexually attractive person is to feel the attraction, not necessarily for your partner to be X amount of attractiveness by any more objective metric. I think we have all known people who have continued dating someone they like and find promising just a bit longer, hoping that the spark will come.

A key issue seems to be female attraction standards. Many men believe that various aspects of modern culture have worked together to make these standards higher than they need to be, and thus higher than is actually good for women. And one can infer from this that finding a way to dial those standards down would be good for everyone.

On the other hand, it strikes me that a lot of women essentially believe that these standards are mostly immutable and based in biology. Women have never been free to fully manifest their true standards before, so now we are finally seeing what they are. The consequences of these standards may or may not cause problems, but they simply are what they are. Saying they are 'too high' is tantamount to asking women to sleep with men they find repulsive for the possible good of men or society. Been there. Done that. NEVER going back. Whatever problems arise, the standards are non-negotiable, and we will have to find another solution.

So what is your take on this?
