Nice evening fellow redditors

Since I discovered reddit I always liked to read different kind of subreddits for entertainment and the more dramatic or alien to me the better.

So someday I discover TRP and read quite some posts even though I am a woman. In the beginning I didn't realize how serious some people take it and was just amused by all of it. I liked the personal stories and all the theories cause I just couldn't imagine that both woman and man existed like there described (I'm not very social, so maybe that explains why I never met such people)

Then I realized there was a BP subreddit and here this purple subreddit. Again I read some posts. I only read them when really bored, to see what people talk about, but never because I feel the need to give my own opinion to the topics or to find advice.

But lastly I started to find myself to wonder about a questions. There are so many discussions, so many controversies, so many theories. Why do people care about all of this? In the end, its all about finding a good partner but why do some people waste so much time on studying theories and numbers and trying to be someone you might not even be, when you can take this time and just get out into real life? Is it really so difficult to estimate if a guy or a girl is a good match? Why do people try to force their standards about what a good partner is on other people? Why are some people trying to learn a guideline from the interne by heart when they could instead make their own experiences while keeping logical thinking.

I simply don't get why people waste so much time on believing TRP or TBP or similar things. I see no sense in it. Why is all of this such a huge topic?

EDIT:

Thank you all for your input. I guess reality is just not as easy for some people as I thought. In contrast to some beliefs, I was never approached by guys or was in a dating scene simply because I don't talk to many people. I am always occupied with studying and usually don't pay a lot of attention to the people around me. Guess my real problem was to see the importance of dating to some people in general. It must be hard to be wanted to be loved but have trouble to find a partner. But I have to say that I think too that it's easier for woman to find a partner. I got my first boyfriend (still with him) with 22 and my only effort that I had to do was asking him for his number and planning a few dates despite my looks being pretty average (I have no time for makeup and fashion). I am very happy and I think I just got very lucky to have picked a good one at the first try. Sometimes I forget that there are both woman and men that just have bad intentions (like only dating for money etc.).

Nevertheless, I still wanted to thank you guys. Life is tough and support systems are important. I hope all of you, who are still struggling, will find someone amazing soon. I believe in you as many seem very passionate about their strategies and I gained a lot of knowledge that might be useful. I wish you all nice Eastern!
