Answering for older,

I see less sex all around, less satisfaction with sex when it does happen, and technology getting in between our natural triggers for attraction.

Can’t say about the future, but I think we are headed toward Japan. Society will hopefully adjust, but it makes me sad.

Just looking at my mid 20s friend group the outlook is pretty bleak... But there is probably some significant bias; we are all on the nerdy side, engineers at an aviation Company, and we live in a sub 200k population city

But, out of the dozen and a half guys I'm thinking of, none are fat, all make between 70-100k in a low COL area (half of us own homes and other half boats or airplanes) and generally have interesting lives going camping/skiing/surfing/kayaking/drinking at happy hour, ect.

So seem like average enough group of people. However I think after knowing this group for a little over 3 years, half of these guys have not had sex that entire time. No GFs, no hooking up, just nothing.

A quarter of us are in more stable relationships, but I can only think of myself and 1 other friend who's GFs are not quite fat. One guy has a fat GF who is long distance and he literally is on the hook paying for some of her schooling..? Another guy is basically Billie beta for an annoying fat girl we work with.

Then there is another quarter where it's a little more ambiguous/hard to tell if they are ever seeing anyone, but it sure seems like they aren't (never any mention, never any girls around, always available to hangout)

I think I am the only one in our group who has ever left during a night drinking downtown to go have sex with a chick.

Edit: I think the prime time for people being sexually active was Gen X college and late 20s

Eh, I think the internet randos are just far too focused on ONS hookups and hookup culture which is very unhealthy. I had a typical UMC childhood, with good schools, university, fraturnity, that sort of thing and most people weren't looking for hookups but LTRs, male and female. If a guy got lucky, people assumed he would try to date her. My frat had some wild parties but we still all ended up with GF's and those that lasted the college years were usually the wives after.

Players were somewhat looked down on, it wasn't a contest for how many women you banged. An ONS was something out of sexual desperation because its been so long, not a end goal.

Basically we found GF's and we fucked like rabbits after, but with our GF's.

I'm older (almost 40) and think they are having way less sex. Also have a 17yr old daughter, and she's definitely having less sex and excitement in her life than either of her parents did. She's a virgin.

From what I gather, it looks like young millennials and zoomers are way more prone to being asexual, gender identity/orientation issues, and just social anxieties in general than previous generations.

All the girls want to be more like boys, and are more masculine than the boys. They all care more about what their avatars on games look like more than their real bodies.

I'm 29 and based in the UK.

From what I see, introverted men really struggle, regardless of looks. Smoking weed seems to make this much worse as it makes them unwilling to leave the comfort of their sofa.

I know the whole 'stop gaming and watching porn' is overused, but it's very accurate (and one of the few RP rules that I agree with)

All my extroverted friends have no problem, regardless of looks. They normally meet GFs or hook up's at social settings like the pub or a gathering of friends or through work. Failing that OLD seems to be growing in popularity.

There's also a rise in enjoying singledom amongst both men and women (myself included). There seems to be so much for young people to do now that relationships and children don't look as appealing.

My sex life is awesome and the best it's ever been tbh. When I think 'ot can't get much better than this?' It always does somehow.

Doubtful. Although they definitely talk about and express sexuality a lot more. I doubt they have the ability to act on it a lot of the time. Younger folks seem more neurotic (with good reason).

More difficult due to more social isolation (before COVID), people get less practice dealing with other people who are not like them.

No idea, don’t really like to think about it. I’d guess the 70’s and free love movements racked it up quite a bit until AIDS came and ruined the party.

I think it’s the lack of intimacy which is leading to more casual sex and flings/ fwb it’s almost like a rubber-band effect.

I think the younger is having more because of the hook up culture compared to my youth.

I think intimacy can be more difficult today, so many have swipe to grass is greener brains and cant settle or so many are socially awkward because they live on the net or phone. They dont know how to act in real life.

Young people are having less sex is something that keeps showing up in studies and I am inclined to believe it is true. What we're experiencing right now is a shift in the social mores around courtship. As a society we've become aware that the old ways (the man pays/handles everything, the woman is the housekeeper, "dates" being something that must be approved by parents) are sexist and problematic for all sorts of reasons but, at the very least, they were recognizable. American society today has yet to develop a new set of social mores however - some people are still trying to do things the "old fashioned" way and some people are trying to do things in the post-sexual-revolution world and the two world views clash when those people meet. People are entering relationships with vastly different ideas about what exactly constitutes a relationship.

TRP is a symptom of this. TRP is made up of men who pine for the old days when the codes of courtship were more clearly outlined and to their advantage, and to this end they try to apply those old codes (as they perceive them when they are served them via TV or films or music or etc) while trying to modify them for the post-sexual-revolution world. The result is this hodge podge ideology based on folk science and half-truths that ultimately has the same aim as the old codes, namely, to believe that women are lesser, that they are creatures that must be carefully herded by "alpha males" so that dudes (particularly dudes who do not conform to mainstream ideas of masculinity) can get laid/exercise power.

Women react against this and are of course disgusted to be seen as objects so they shout down this kind of thinking. The problem for many women though (in my view only - I am not a woman) is that many are in the thrall of liberal feminism, an ideology that promises equality of the sexes but that is ultimately aimed at perpetuating the capitalist system that allows the men that control it so much leeway vis a vis courtship.

(This is opposed to socialist feminism which has more radical views on what is necessary to bring about equality between the sexes, which, to play with ideological cards face up, I believe is true. There is a study that showed that women had more orgasms more often under socialist regimes since they did not have so much fear that the men they were engaging with would hurt them or impregnate them and leave them to bear a child on their own or that they would face sexist discrimination since socialist system took care of such base concerns)

The end result is that in today's dating scene communication is more important than it ever has been before, particularly because no new code of courtship has been established. Beyond just figuring out who this other person is and what they are into and whether or not you actually like them in any way a person dating now also has to try and suss out what exactly the other person thinks relationships are and how they are meant to behave within one. Put a a way the internet chuds might understand, you can't talk to or treat with a tradwife the same way you would with a sexually liberated socialist, but before hand there is little way of you knowing which is which unless the woman in question is wearing clothes that give away her beliefs with comic ease. This is of course on top of the fact that sexual liberation/equality of the sexes is an basic liberty that even tradwives pine for, and men who are stuck trying to return to an old way of doing things aren't bothering to learn the new way of doing things.

Anyway my battery is running out so I need to wrap this up. tl:dr communication is important and people don't really bother with it, a problem made more severe by the increasing ideological divide between the sexual traditionalists and the sexual radicals.

Yes there is a divide. I literally have opposing friend groups that are virgins and chads that get laid easily.

There difference between the two groups is due to their, most importantly, attractiveness, social skills, exposure to women, and mentality.

My virgin friend groups just plays game all day and doesn't get involved socially, they have zero social skills and are awkward af. I've just known them since a kid which is why I still hang out with them, otherwise I would not give them a fucking chance. They don't expose themselves to anyone, but their small clique of people and so close minded that they literally judge anything and anything that does anything different. Yeah they will be stuck where they are.

My other friend group of dudes that get laid a lot are fairly attractive, but also they welcome new experiences, they are so open-minded and they are just a delight to be around. They don't have awkward quirks because they have socialized enough that they ironed those out of their personalities.

The bad news is the first group is becoming the norm. More and more guys are being judgemental awkward master weebs who can't deal with anything outside their comfort zone. They are so insecure that they have these weird personality traits that just creep people the fuck out. /end rant

I think it is no different at all. In this particular dimension of one's lives, some people get more laid than others. Some not as much.

It is what it is. And although this has all the trappings of inc3l coding, let's take it at face value.

Less marriage? Great. Marriage and sex has nothing to do with each other, and are frequently causal of it not happening for long.

At university I knew people who fucked, and those people who didn't fuck and lamented about it, usually the fatties and greasy ones. Doesn't seem that different now.

University, if you go, is primarily about people around the same age being somewhere together without parental supervision, so the sex was higher than say, at a nunnery. Was it rampant? I wouldn't say so. I have no idea if it's more or less rampant now. I don't hang around teenagers so I don't know if they're porking each other or not.

According to statistics and studies, for what they're worth, the current crop of the worst generation in history isn't having a lot of sex, male or female. Some people fuck, and some people don't. It seems overall they're fucking less that before, although why that's a bad thing I have no idea. Sex, as I said, is just one dimension of the human experience, and a pretty stupid one to get hung up on to be honest. It's just an orgasm with some stupid consequences if you screw that up, and the rest is just psychological nonsense, and both those things can be done by an individual, and nothing about it is as necessary as food, water, shelter, etc.

I just think they have other things to do. All things being equal, fucking is by and large free, as well as intimacy. But I guess people would rather watch Disney Plus and have expensive iPhones to look at porn or Facebook than fuck, but that's their difference. Why fuck when you can play Angry Birds.

What's to blame? No one. Less people are fucking over all. The sexless you-know-whats aren't fucking, but most of them are nuts an incapable of dealing with reality, or as they say, "coping".

My guess would be that people are having less sex now than prior generations. There’s less face to face interaction with people period. Women have their pick of who they want through old and a large portion of the male population is shut out. Society will continue to have less and less sex moving forward. The population of sexless males currently is sky high and it’s just going to continue to climb. I can’t imagine Covid is helping either.

There is an ever increasing inequality in sex for the young men/boys. While sexual interaction has become more common overall among young women/girls. This trend seems to continue as our sexual market grows closer to resemble the American/Japanese one.

Sex has become easier to get/find for those high valued young men/boys, but harder to the rest. While intimate long term relationships became rarer to everyone.

It is positive in an aspect, as sex was never so easy to find, but is negative in that relationships are becoming a rarity.
