53k tho? Every.time I see these high amount of child support request.. I ask how much is going on the child?

[–]druin1564 673 points674 points675 points 6 years ago (50 children) | Copy Link

53k a MONTH my man

[–]RobJobLikesGuns 436 points437 points438 points 6 years ago (46 children) | Copy Link

That’s jacked. You know damn well the majority isn’t going to the child.

[–]LiverspotRobot 292 points293 points294 points 6 years ago (44 children) | Copy Link

How would you even spend 52,000 a month on a kid?

[–]Silverwarriorin 335 points336 points337 points 6 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Let’s see, that’s 636k per year without any taxes or anything, that kid would literally be making about 13x the average salary. So basically you would be the coolest kid on the block with every new toy ever

[–]22dicksonaplane 228 points229 points230 points 6 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Ever hear about young child stars being robbed by their parents? The kid wouldn’t get shit.

[–]Silverwarriorin 85 points86 points87 points 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Definitely not. Poor child would get a dollar tops

[–]abascaburger 21 points22 points23 points 6 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

[–]addpyl0n 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I thought I knew what trolling was. The fashion industry is clearly next level if people are paying ridiculous sums of money for that.

[–]FabulousStomach 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]KingMong 22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Dam that's some new money bullshit.

Is that fashion these days? What the those glasses? What the fuck is she wearing?

My God, I can't decide what I dislike the most in that pic. The Bentley, that god awful thing the mom is wearing, or those windshield glasses.

No wait, I know what's worse. Whatever the mom has on her feet, is the stuff nightmares are made of

[–]feraxil 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I really hate that fake-implanted ass + chicken legs combo that seems so popular nowadays.

[–]Jhazzrun 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Impossible with the child not receiving anything. The mom would prob still demand more money after blowing through the initial payments.

[–]Silverwarriorin 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How.

[–]Dravous 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

how would you spend 52k a year....just on 1 kid? if that's her only income...ok. but otherwise what?

[–]Bromidias83 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

Because i earn only a small income my nation gives me money for helping me take care for my kid. I get 368 euros a month for her (3year old) and im saving about 250 of that for future expenses because its way to much.

[–]MadDetective 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

As an American I'm envious of a country that gives a fuck about it's parents and youth.

[–]Bromidias83 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah im lucky where i live! My friends sometimes hate it because they have to pay 49% tax on the last step of their income.

Sometimes they bitch about it but then they remember all the good things the tax is doing for others and they dont mind.

Are there a few rotten apples abusing the system to get free money without doing anything, sure. Are those rotten apples a reason to shaft the majority of people truly needing the money, nope.

[–]Nhiyla 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]JonnyGoodfellow 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Do Americans not get a monthly amount of money per child? In Ontario we call it Baby Bonus or the Child Benefit. It decreases at set ages til they are 18.

[–]Hiscore -5 points-4 points-3 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

As an American I'm not envious of paying most of my salary in taxes. Fuck off with your cuck bullshit

[–]UnpoplrRacstOpinion1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

[–]Hiscore 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

[–]UnpoplrRacstOpinion1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (6 children) | Copy Link

[–]MadDetective 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

You're the one getting cucked because you're paying all this money in taxes but you'll never see nearly as much benefit for it but you're too much of a bitch boy for authority to realize you're the one getting fucked in the ass by politics as they reach over your back and hand your tax money to the corporations that are face fucking you all the while you gurgle out some pathetic defense of their bullshit because you know you love being findommed by big fat rich men like daddy's little cum guzzling whore and the idea that everyone else doesn't want to taste their cocks as much as you bothers you for some unimaginably stupid fucking reason. They laugh at your naive little bitch ass while you pretend like you'll be like them someday but we all know you'll be nothing more than dick sleeve toy for them and a useful idiot to spread your corporate cock worshiping gospel.

TBF if you used that to pay your rent, utilities, cake, internet, and groceries, the child benefits. They have a roof, food, and the other things to enjoy life.

However that said 53K a month is still WAY over the top I'd imagine.

[–]internet_underlord 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So how does that work? They calculate out the amount and he just dropped a lump sum?

If so, I could totally see an idiot blowing it all on stupid shit and then whine about the gravy train skipping her station.

[–]Excuse_my_GRAMMER 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

None of it make sense

In nyc it goes through the city so if a person is calculated they have to pay $1000 a month In child support the mother get check from the city. If the dad pay $1500 in June , the mother check still going to be $1000 and the extra going to go into escrow

[–]Yoshi2shi 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pretty much. They calculated the sum monthly payments until the child turned 18. And every month/year he paid extra to stay ahead of the payments since he did not know when his next gig was going to come around.

[–]Hoodratshit1212 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah that’s absolutely ridiculous. She does not need that much to raise a child, even if her father could provide the kid a nice life, that amount of money is not necessary to raise a happy healthy kid. The parents are not together so she needs to support herself, what the fuck could she possibly buy for her child for with that much money?? His money is not hers, and she’s doesn’t get to expect so much money that she’s literally rich bc of it

[–]MasterOberon 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]DemonSquirril 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't we all.

[–]addpyl0n 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's the average household income. Personal is more like 31k-32k.

[–]Bunch_of_Bangers 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That makes more sense. I thought it was quite high.

[–]ConnorH78 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The child will be fed and have a few new toys, but what about the other 52,500, all getting spent on her

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I knew a guy that was making something like 30k a month and his wife cheated and he filed for divorce. Wife did not work so she was set to get like 16k between alimony and child support per month. Guy fought it but could not win. He said fuck it and sold everything he had, bought a trailer and quit his job and took a minimum wage job so that she would basically get nothing.

[–]KiritoLoxus 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fn messed up

[–]2AlephNullAndBeyond 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s not the point of child support.

After a divorce, the court is trying to make a bad situation for the child as good as possible. This means that the child gets to spend time with both parents and that the child gets to live a life close to what it would have lived with both parents. The court is not just going to bankrupt the main custodial parent. Depending on the length of the relationship, the main custodial parent may have assets with large debt obligations. So yeah, a child doesn’t “need” large sums to survive, but if the parents divorce and the child is living in a 5 million dollar home, then the child support is going to be high.

[–]SkinBintin 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess it's relevant given the kids dad's wealth. If the kid was growing up in his house, it'd be getting that kinda money spent on it most likely. It's still an outlandish request though

[–]neovip3r 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately in most cases it's not even about the child if Mom doesn't work they put down that she makes minimum wage if the dad makes shit ton of money they put down what he makes and then hit up Dad ends up paying way more than what he should have two at least that's what was in my case

53k to spend 1k on the child and 52k for themselves smh

[–]nosoupforyou 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Right. Like she'd spend 1k per month on the child.

Unless she's counting part of the house expenses as child-incurred.

[–]neovip3r -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It is

[–]nosoupforyou 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Right. The cable bill, (including the adult channels), the lawn care company, the electric, gas, and water bills. Also the property taxes. Because obviously she would only have the house to pay for because of the children.

[–]neovip3r 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I misread what you put everything as far as Internet cable food housing gas electric all that stuff is factored in with raising a child at least in my state it's also based on how much the father makes and how much the mother makes so if the mother does it make shit or some welfare or make minimum wage then the father has to make up for that unfortunate

[+]BigBoiPoiSoi -1011 points-1010 points-1009 points 6 years ago* (63 children) | Copy Link

You’re raising a child by yourself she can take whatever she wants, especially from an unloving millionaire

Edit: Not whatever she wants but 1k a month is really minimum for a mom and a child, and besides, children without fathers grow a much more difficult life.

[–]GoodBoi_JStack319 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (21 children) | Copy Link

letting a millionaire cum in you is not a valid way to become a millionaire.

Child support should be based on the cost of raising a child, not the earning potential of the father.

[–]Sixemperor 274 points275 points276 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

The father has more money. He should be the one raising the child anyways. Not some bum ass, gold digging bitch.

[–]cyberMoriarty3 points 6 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

In the US child support is based on the needs of the child, not the noncustodial parent’s ability to pay.

Spousal support on the other hand does factor in stuff like salary of each spouse.

At least that’s what bar prep tells me.

[–][deleted] 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Pick another bar prep course. I used Barbri.

There is no US standard for child support. It varies state to state. In California, the income of both parents is factored into the guideline support calculation. (See Family Code section 4053.)

[–]professorradix 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like the other guy says I'm on barbri right now. My state factors in both incomes of the parents and then comes to a number and percentages paid based on total earnings (the lesser is obviously just a credit). Many states have different ways. Don't fret about a wholly state to state controlled decision.

[–]joedangl -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Do some fucking homework bud. Child support is based off of income in EVERY state

[+]weaslebubble -7 points-6 points-5 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's not just the cost of raising a child. It's the cost of raising a child in a manner to which it is entitled given the value of its parents. You don't get to father a kid s a multimillionaire and then leave them on skid row, even if you are paying enough for them to be fed and clothed until they are 18. You are a parent you have responsibilities you cannot so easily abdicate.

[–]DespiteBeing1 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Why do women get to abdicate their rights through abortion or adoption but men are on the hook financially for 18 years?

You're not entitled to anything from anyone else, and this sexist law needs to go. If the mother can't afford to take care of the child, the father should be in charge of the situation, not the state.

[–]weaslebubble 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They don't. Abortion isn't abdicating anything. There's no child. And adoption can only occur if both parents want to put the child up for adoption so that's 100% equal.

[+]mmonzeob -10 points-9 points-8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[+]BigBoiPoiSoi -52 points-51 points-50 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I’m all for that, and if we’re being honest, with how rich future is, he would pay way more than 53k a month

[–]MatthewMWhite 46 points47 points48 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

11.5 million over 18 years to raise a kid? Boy, get yo ass outta here

[–]xXGoobyXx9 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

So you are saying she deserve 600 grand a year. Cmon

[–]Strychn_ne 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yeah exactly, 53k is much more than what some people live on...

[–]xXGoobyXx 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah 53k a year would would be a lot

[–]Paloma_II -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It’s also a very small fraction of what Future makes, which is a mitigating factor. Everyone here is thinking about how ridiculous $53k is because they’re thinking about others finances with their own wallets. The kid would be living that type of rich life if Future wanted to be involved and raise the kid himself. He clearly does not.

Future made $23M in 2017, which was the most recent data I could find quickly. $53k/mo would be 2.8% of that income. This would be the equivalent of a regular person making $50k/yr paying $117/mo in child support.

Family court is one of the few arenas where men are actually at a huge disadvantage and lots of men get fucked over with child support taking up huge portions of income that significantly negative impact their quality of life. Future is not one of them.

A very small fraction but over 18 years 11m ?? Come on now. Future is one of them because we all know these woman only want the child for the money. Future is the key to a lifestyle she DOES NOT possess. If the child is in the mothers custody then it should live off her wealth. I'm fine with the father giving money but it should be about the money that she would make not him, because hes not in his life. Now with that kind of money a woman who is living a supposedly normal life now gets the funds of a millionaire how is that fair?

[–]Strychn_ne 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah this is the exact problem. We all know she wanted to get knocked up for the money. As soon as a rapper makes it in the game, gold diggers start flowing their way.

[–]Ronaldoooope 25 points26 points27 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol she can raise on child on much less than 600k a year

[–]Scrawlericious 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope. She can work for her own money. 1000 is plenty on top of what she'd make.

Wdym lmao he’s right. If that money went to the child I’d be all for it but lord knows she’d buy her some Gucci and shit like that and leave a couple hundred for the kid out of all that money. If she had a job she’d only need $1000 for the kid easy.

[–]formershitpeasant 36 points37 points38 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

53k a month is an insane amount of money. That baby would be living the high life.

[–]VerbalSloth 28 points29 points30 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup, getting knocked up by a millionaire was the only way out of her mediocre life. She don't need 50k+ to maintain her life style because she was probably raised eating off brand coco puffs and turning old panties inside out. She shouldn't even have custody of the kid at all if she can't afford to raise them.

[–]Giovannilevel 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Than the child should receive the thousand a month in their name.

You try getting any government money and see if they won't make damn sure you use it the way they want you too.

Oh but when it's just some schmucks money we're supposed to trust a woman who is fully capable of getting a job like anyone else to use it selflessly.

If you want custody you don't get to have someone else's money. You just are declaring you don't trust someone else with your kid, which is understandable.

But that has fuck all to do with that guy's assets. She just wants a side hustle for free.

It's child support dude he's entering at a disadvantage regardless of who his legal team is. This isn't me defending him or not. My OP was more in question of why this was a PPD level post when it's them just bullshitting each other. It doesn't matter what she says or he says, Support uses a calculation not an arbitrary number.

[–]l-_l- 39 points40 points41 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh, for sure. Not sure how this is PPD material either. But, idk, I think that he'll have an easy time not paying 53k a month for child support. Apparently he's had another woman ask for child support, but she recently dismissed it and was most likely because they came to a settlement.

But, she does have DNA test proving he's the father so who knows. Honestly, I feel bad for the kids.

[–]bloodraven42 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not really true anymore, a lot of that is from people who don’t realize how much a kid costs. The vast majority of states use a formula to determine child support, and any deviation is something that must be documented in writing and entered into the record (therefore providing grounds for appeal).

Here is the actual form they use to calculate it in AL, if you’re curious. It’s exceedingly rare (I work a bit in DR) to deviate, and it doesn’t take into account gender. When dad gets custody mom gets raided just has hard (and I’ve seen it happen). But regardless, it’s literally just math you can do before trial to see how much you’ll owe, and that’ll be it 99% of the time. Judges have way too much shit going on to waste time to figure out to how fuck you individually unless you REALLY stand out.

[–]Taragyn1 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don’t know how things work in the states but here in Canada there is no negotiation at all. You just take number of children and income and go to the charts. If there is shared custody you then balance out the two parties. It’s just owed to the kids essentially.

You can still argue over spousal support but the child support is just set with no wiggle room.

[–]Gabagaba62 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The maximum Canada child benefit you could get is $6,639 per year for children under 6, and $5,602 per year for children aged 6 to 17. Your Canada child benefit is based on your family income from the previous year, the number of children in your care, and the age of your children

[–]Taragyn1 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Those are two very different things.

[–]Timmy_Timmy_Timbo 92 points93 points94 points 6 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

It costs on average $240,000 to raise a child from birth to adulthood

[–]shinigamiscall 45 points46 points47 points 6 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

Basic math puts that somewhere around $40 a day which is probably about right.

[–]Nhiyla 31 points32 points33 points 6 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

a kid definitely doesnt run you $1200 a month wtf

[–]shinigamiscall 30 points31 points32 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

It's not far off cumulatively. Adding in medical expenses, clothes(as they grow out of them quickly) , school supplies, toys/games/makeup, food, added expenses on bills (heating/electric/water), diapers etc etc. Kids are expensive. And that rough estimate isn't far off from what you would likely spend over 18 years.

[–]Nhiyla 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Just googled it for germany, says 130.000€ from 0-18, 602€ (~$680) per month,

[–]shinigamiscall 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

I believe the other person was using the U.S. as their "average". At that much you would really be doing the absolute bare minimum which would mean few clothes, little or no entertainment and that's excluding the increased cost on bills, no cellphone etc etc. Not sure where you live or if you plan to have children but I assure you it's more than $20 a day per child on average, at least in the U. S.

[–]Nhiyla 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Not sure where you live

"googled it for germany" is a strong indicator for me being german i think :P

and 600€ per month for childcare is not doing the bare minimum here, we don't have outrageous childcare cost for example, so i guess that cuts out a ton of the cost which i didn't consider for you americans.

We also don't pay extra for medical insurance for kids.

So those 600€ go to exactly whats needed for the child, not some absurd overpriced crap thats mandatory but for some reason still costs a fortune over there.

[–]shinigamiscall 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Anyone could goodle the cost of raising a child in another country. You stated "for Germany" but that could have just been an attempt at dodging OPs cost for where his data is for. Yes, raising a child can be more or less expensive depending on where you live, that's common sense as the minimum wage and cost of living change. The point of this case and from OPs average was for the U.S. and that was what I reiterated in my last comment. If it's cheaper there then cool beans but that's besides the point here.

[–]Nhiyla 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

but that could have just been an attempt at dodging OPs cost for where his data is for.

The data that was unsourced till i requested it you mean?

Not everything is in bad faith my dude.

Nothing dodgy about that, the number simply seemed so over the top because i didn't consider ridiculous childcare and medical cost as thats a concept so out of reach for europeans.

[–]FabulousStomach 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I was thinking that even 1k a month is a huge sum. Fuck, here in northern Italy child support is usually around 500€ a month and it's well enough to raise a child as long as the mom works.

But then again, we have waaaay less stupid expenses (like medical expenses that are almost non existent here, or colleges being dirt cheap compared to the US) and everyday stuff is also way less pricey. 50$ worth of fruit and vegetables in the US is like 7€ here. Toilet paper costs like 5 times more in the US than Europe lmao.

Gas is cheap in the US tho, lol

[–]HelloJoeyJoeJoe 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Daycare where I live is like $1500 - $2000 a month and that's for basic shit. If you want the nice stuff, it will push $3k and you gotta fight to get in.

Healthcare and Childcare costs is an insane factor that i left out because i completely didn't consider it, as thats a non-issue in germany ( entire europe ).

[–]Neon_Monkey 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but let’s see those taxes.

[–]Nhiyla 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Which? Loan taxes or social contribution taxes?

Anyways, totals to 35-38% depending on some circumstances.

[–]Neon_Monkey 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

All I’m trying to say is it’s a little disingenuous to compare both countries by raw “dollars” spent.

Both countries have very different tax structures, especially when comparing raising children.

[–]Nhiyla 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Worth noting, 66% of child care expenses get refunded through taxes, let alone the fact that our childcare expenses range from 0-300€ depending on age and city.

Also we have hefty tax cuts for families which puts it to my 35-38%

Social contribution taxes are ~19%.

Worth noting that they cap out at 4600€/6900€ ( depends on the specific tax )

If you earn above that, you won't get taxed for more than if you were earning 4600/6900 respectively.

Theres not a single mathematic example where the german system costs you more despite the taxes, not one.

Private school, house, car, holidays. You can spend that if you try.

[–]imayscamu 25 points26 points27 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Child support should be only for necessities. the mum still should have to kick in from her own purse... Private school - not needed, go to public schools theyre not all that bad, house - dont need to live in a mansion in rich area. Holidays - not needed. Car - mum should have her own car anyway.

[+]Hoodratshit1212 -8 points-7 points-6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Not really. Child support should be split depending on the best interest of the child. Its usually like 12-14% of weekly income, and it includes the costs of the child’s favorite activities, a roof over their head (the mom and children prob would want to stay in their marital home that she wouldn’t be able to afford on one income since they bought it with two), a vehicle to get them around (prob had one already when married), the custodial parent also has to be around to support them emotionally and care for them, getting them the best education possible, giving them a life as close as possible to pre-divorce life, etc. Who cares about what’s convenient for the parents. The courts care about the best interest of the child. Your dumb opinion is in the interest of saving the dad money when he doesn’t have to otherwise take care or support the child outside of the 14% of his income he contributes and his visits. Most dads actually want to pay for their child to have a nice comfortable life, you are talking about deadbeats who care about themselves. Gross. ‘ Plus why would she need to pay for the majority of the costs of the child, AND also take care of the child herself, feed, cloth, ensure healthcare, and raise/parent the child herself and pay childcare so she can work too, while the dad pays for bare necessities? Which is almost nothing according to you. Its both of their kid, thats so stupid. Plus a lot of states require both parents support the kid anyway.

[–]jackandjill22 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

/u/Imayscamu is right.

It's only for necessities. Convenience to the parents is of the utmost importance. The custodial should already have their life in order & shouldn't be living off the other parent to afford luxuries nor things they can't themselves.

[–]Hyldy 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If the custodial parent needs to be subsidized by the non-custodial parent in order to provide for the child(ren) then the child(ren) might as well stay with the non-custodial parent, excepting cases of abuse.

[–]alaskagames 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

sure you can but how many houses and cars do you need? that’s in one year. after you buy a new house and a new car, your only gonna spend MAYBE 100k at most on private school and holidays and other stuff.

Was paying my ex $500 a month in child support for one 3 year old. Every time I put money in her account she'd go out clubbing and post the pics on Facebook. She'd send the kid to visit while she went to the timeshare to scuba dive, with torn clothing and holes in her shoes so I'd buy her new ones. Asked me for more money and took me to court. State awarded her $235 a month! pussypassdenied.

Nice, I had a a similar deal with my ex. She knew I had come into some inheritance. I had quit my job to explore other careers but offered to keep paying her through direct instead of through CMS (UK child support). She refused, then tried to take me to court when the CMS could no longer collect the money from my employer.

The issue is that CMS only take income into account, me having a shit ton of inheritance couldn't be counted. So when I quit my job technically my payments should drop to zero, it was my choice to quit so that's why I offered to pay her privately.

The fun bit is when we both had to see a mediator (before you get a court date you have to go through mediation). The solicitor informed me that a judge wouldn't look favourably on me for having a good lifestyle but paying nothing in child support. So I showed them the emails proving I have offered the money but the mum would only accept it through CMS (but the CMS calculated I owe zero). The solicitor informed the mum I had covered my ass and if she needed to money she should allow me to pay privately. As part of all the mediation the CMS had to review our case, the said I had overpaid by nearly £700.

So the result was that she owed me the money and I still had to pay zero because she refused private payments. I told her to keep the money and before anyone gets pissy I kept the money going into savings for the boy.

Buddy of mine has 3 kids, 1 from first exwife, 2 from second. He has 100% custody of the first kid - mom doesn't want anything to do with him, and get the other two kids 4 days a month (every other weekend).

He pays $300/month for the two kids. His first exwife pays him (court ordered!) $0 for the first kid. Both exes outearn him by a significant amount and are remarried to guys that outearn him as well.

Tell me how that shit makes sense.

[–]himmelstrider 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's a hugely fucked up situation. On one hand, child support is, indeed, justified - no father wants his child to go without something. On the other hand, it's incredibly hard to prove just where every cent is going, even though it's often apparent that it's not for child's sake. Cutting child support means you're making your kid miss out on something, and not cutting it off means you're supplying who knows what.

It should just be full shared custody and that's it. Men love their kids too.

[–]DontMakeMeDownvote 320 points321 points322 points 6 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

[–]Thejunky1 279 points280 points281 points 6 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

State laws are fucked in this regards. Baby momma only gives up weekends so she can go get shit faced and gets $400 tattoos back to back working for 9.50/hr, meanwhile dad that wants everything to be in this kids life is giving up 80% of his 25/hr and can barely afford to get to work without the state coming down on his ass. My little brother is a fucking retard. I told him I would front all his lawyer fees for an actual dual custody and audit. And then he would know his toddler isn't being force fed ramen and total shit 5 times a week. This is how it starts.

[–]techieguyjames 30 points31 points32 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've paid the lawyer and went to court, highly worth it. My ex and I have 50/50 custody of our daughter now, who actually lives with me the majority of the time. Her mother ended up moving about an hour away so my daughter stayed living here with me, and goes to see her mother on weekends.

Rare, but it can happen. Just takes manning up and doing shit about it in the first place. If you let the shitty courts and/or women walk all over you, they will.

[–]Thejunky1 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

OH. I went through the whole custody thing and have ~50/50 custody of my son and it works out ok. I actually pay fairly little in child support, I think it works out to $750/month, so not horrible I guess. The process itself sucked and was expensive like shit (still repaying on it even now), but I’m glad I did it and have that custody document in place.

[–]TheyCensoredMyMain 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I’m at $700 a month for 50/50 and it’s pretty much crippling for me. She has the degree and opportunity and I’m the one who has to work more and harder because she doesn’t want a better job and the state doesn’t care.

[–]Hoodratshit1212 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I doubt that, child support basic percentage is 17% of the total parental income for one child. Even if he stopped paying child support, the courts would eventually garnish his wages at 25%. Max.

Example: One parent is the primary caregiver and makes $25,000. The other parent makes $100,000. They have one child. Total income is $125,000, which is multiplied the “child support percentage” of 17%. $125,000 x .17 = $21,250 is the basic child support obligation. The higher-earning parent would be responsible for 80% of that figure ($17,000) because their income ($100,000) makes up 80% of the combined parental income ($125,000). The other parent would be responsible to pay 20% ($4,250) of the child’s expenses. So If he’s pay 80% of his income in child support its because he agreed to do so or volunteers it. You’re probably just misinformed. He may pay 80% of the child support cost, but thats bc he makes 80% of both parents income. Hes prob not paying 80% of his total income.

I think alimony should be abolished and child support should have a set rate (exceptions for poverty levels) and a cap. In return, not paying child support should be effectively punished with harsher repercussions. Perhaps this way bitter women couldn’t extort men and deadbeats wouldn’t keep slipping through the cracks.

[–]PropWashPA28 62 points63 points64 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Yes a dollar amount per kid after a certain amount of income, not a percentage. Just because a dad is a rock star doesn't mean the kid eats gold bullion flakes for breakfast.

[+]2AlephNullAndBeyond -24 points-23 points-22 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It’s not the child’s fault. The child deserves the right to live as if both their parents were living together raising him or her.

[–]KuuPhone1 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

They absolutely do not deserve the income of their father, just because their mother wants to live elsewhere.

No one deserves someone else's income.

If they raised the child together, and did so in the bare minimum of money, that wouldn't be seen as wrong. You don't deserve to be rich, especially if you'd only be so because if a single parent.

If they think the father's money is that important, than the child should be with the father.

Don't even get me started on the idea that a money can choose to have a child, the man can choose to not want one, but they you can legally strip them of percentages if their income they literally can't afford, and far far more than any child needs. An absolutely disgusting and sexist system, with no basis in the reality of child rearing.

[+]Hoodratshit1212 -6 points-5 points-4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Are you dumb lol umm a child def deserves their fathers income. The courts completely disagree with you anyway, and most dads aren’t deadbeats who want to pay the bare minimum possible when the reality is that he can afford to help give his child a much better life. The mom has majority of the cost plus all the time and effort of raising and parenting the child , she cant also work as much as the dad and pay childcare to work , the whole point is that she would be more available to actually raise the kid. She bears all the most of having physical custody of the which is obv higher than the non custodial parent. The courts dont care about what the dad would pay if the parents stayed married and they spent the bare minimum for the child to survive lol yeah it would be seen as wrong to not provide for your own child past the bare minimum if you could afford more??? Lol the fuck is wrong with you. So that you can keep that money to spend on yourself instead of giving your kids a better quality of life ? Wtf are you talking about lol The courts are only concerned with the child’s best interests , which is to have the parents pay as much as they would if they were still married in order to keep the kid living the same way as before. once the parents split and mom gets residential custody, the father would obv be working and not around for the kid thats why the non-custodial parent pays the custodial one. No one cares that there’s dads who can totally afford to support their own child financially but dont want to pay more than the bare minimum. The kid is what matters you idiot

Idk why that comment you replied to is getting downvoted, thats how it works and thats how it should work, it’s about the child not all the deadbeat dads bank accounts lol

child support should be abolished. There's no reason to punish the man because the woman wants to be a mom. There are at least seven opportunities for a woman to not become a mother and only one for men. It is not a fair system and men shouldn't be punished for it.

[–]SkippedTheSaladBar 53 points54 points55 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

If women have the sole right to decide for or against an abortion, then men should have the right to deny the resulting child care. Fair is fair.

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Then you have instances where an underage boy is raped and then forced to pay child support to their rapist when they turn 18. Because the judge is just looking at the best interests of the child.

Which one???

[–]HoursOfCuddles 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Wait, so you support u_SkippedTheSaladBar or you don't?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I do support them, but my comment was meant to be a “reason” why it won’t happen because even some cases of statutory rape still charge the men with child support because no matter what, the child is the one most afflicted and they must be cared for.

I mean, idk why the judge would let the rapist woman keep the baby and then require the raped boy pay for it, you’d think they’d imprison the woman, offer damages and therapy to the boy, and give the child to adoption.

But in the case I was thinking about, the judge said the child needs to have its bio parents in its life.

[–]HoursOfCuddles 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That would be really fucked up. I don't think they would do that though. If a female rapist is impregnated I am hoping, just really hoping, that they don't do dumb shit like that.

...but in today's world you never know...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately they did the worst you could imagine.

A young boy was raped by an adult woman.

She got pregnant and a few years later sued the boy for child support.

The boy had no idea she got pregnant. He had no idea anything could happen. He was a boy.

He’s above age now, and the government had mandated not only that he pay child support, but also pay interest for the years he was underage and unable to work.

The boy attempted to gain custody of his child. The court won’t let him. They have not even convicted or jailed the woman. She retains full custody and is off without a scratch.

The court acknowledged the fact that this was essentially statutory rape, but they emphasized essentially, as regardless, they look at the best interests of the child. So, the mother gets off with rape because the kid needs a mother, and the young boy who was raped has to pay child support on something he had absolutely no control over.

I’m almost surprised they didn’t jail the boy because men can’t be raped, as it requires penetration.

Oh, and here is the source on the young boy.

And here is the source on how in the UK, men literally cannot be raped. As it requires penetration. If a women has sex with a non consenting male, that’s considered some form of sexual harassment or molestation, but not rape. In fact, while I don’t have the source handy, I could probably find the story of how a woman raped a man, but by law he was charged for the rape. Although she drugged him and held him down, he’s got the penis to penetrate with. Luckily the law has changed slightly to prevent extreme cases like this but it did happen once. I’ll try to find the article and edit this comment if I do. So, take it with a grain of salt until then but you may find it by searching yourself.

The idea that a women's body is her own for a few months, before we decide the fetus is too old for her to have rights anymore, but that a man's body isn't his for 18 years, and is tied to an unreasonable percentage of his income, is insane.

Child support, if it should even exist at all (I don't really believe it should, and if it does, should be directly tired to rights over the child's life. No money, no rights. No rights, no money.) It should be a minimum support, with a specific reason for being set at that level, and should absolutely not be enough for the other parent (mother, let's be honest and real) to live a good life off of while casually taking care of the child that would do just fine in their income, or the income of her new family.

[–]Hoodratshit1212 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How the fuck is the mans body not his for 18 years ? Lmao he doesn’t even have physical custody of his kids if he’s paying child support, he doesn’t even have them living with him and he’s not even raising them, he’s doing the bare minimum of having children which is contributing to to financially help support his own child. A woman literally carry’s the fetus inside her own body and its her own fertilized egg in her womb, but the FATHERS BODY isn’t his for 18 years bc he has to pay 16% of his income to suppor his OWN child lol wtf are you even talking about

Also, that is literally how it works. You have rights over the child if you pay child support. He often has joint legal custody, which is literally not the same as residential custody. For the most part, that is already how child support works. You literally have so many opinions for something that you dont know anything about

Reverse time. I couldn’t keep you calm

[–]noyoucanthavemyname 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree, in the UK it's close to that but you can still pay a high amount.

In the UK the CMS (child maintenance service) sets the rate. It's 12% of your income for 1 child, 16% for two and capped at 19% for three.

It's also capped if your earnings are £3k per week. So the most a person can pay is £29,640 per year if they had 3 kids who didn't live with him.

They can take you to court for more money called a "top up" order. But they have to prove that you seem to be fiddling you taxes, hiding income. Like your lifestyle has to exceed your income, then a judge can consider making you pay more than the fixed percentage.

[–]Qu3st10nEvery7h1n9 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your right there, you can be paid a serious amount of monies if your ex is well off, because all calculations are taken before tax etc. So your example of 3k pw and 3 kids would be a third of the paying parents wage or around 2.5k every month. Which is more than the average uk wage AND tax free, you dont even have to declare it as income so you can get all the benefits your eligible for (because you dont work so you have 'no income') which benefits can amount upto 1.5k pm. Grand total of all of that is 45k take home, equal to a normal persons salary of 70k which is crazy! Then there can be a mum of 3 getting nowt from ex and minimum from gov hoping for the free school meals over summer hols so the kids can eat. It's all messed up.

This is ridiculous. Alimony and child support are devices of fairness. If a housewife forgoes opportunities for decades to stay at home and raise children, shouldn’t she be taken care of if the marriage ends? Also, children are completely innocent and should be provided for and not discriminated against because the parents aren’t married and could one to a mutual or equitable agreement.

[–]CMUpewpewpew 47 points48 points49 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Alimony and child support are devices of fairness.

When applied correctly which often they are not which is the point being made.

[–]bak2redit 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Alimony is strange, I think of a marriage as a business partnership. If one party wants to leave the partnership (excluding when there is abuse), the party terminating that partnership should forfeit shared assets.

[–]TheVapingPug 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Alimony literally dates back to the code of hammurabi (if what I’ve researched is accurate and memory serves). It’s meant for the time when women simply did not work jobs in society and were solely working in the household. But that time is long past and women can certainly hold their own.

[–]CMUpewpewpew 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Selk34Auston 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]TheBreathofFiveSouls -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes but logical. Mummsy didn't cultivate a career because she raised the kids. Gets dropped for the hot intern and boom she's 55 with no skills to support herself.

If she'd known she was gonna get dropped at 55 then she wouldn't have raised the kids, they'd have done childcare and split it more equally so she could cultivate a career.

[–]amazinglover -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most states alimony is paid by the one who earns the most and is often set by years married and how much they earn.

The reason we see this often screwing over men is that they are historically men who are the higher earners while the woman either didn't work or where staynat home mothers.

Alimony/child support do screw over people but its a myth that its the norm and if you look into the actual individual situations you would see its not so black and white.

[–]REMAINSkull 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

not really, most of the time barely half of the child support goes to the kid. Single mothers spend most of it on their own needs, ever wonder how broke single mother baby mamas have iphones, mac books and designer ? Child support checks and alimony. It should be abolished and a new system should be made that doesn’t just donate money to the mother but ensures payment goes ONLY to the child’s every needs. A house wife should not be cared for longer than it takes her to get a sufficient job and get back on her feet, she should not be able to claim she’s attempting to get employed but it’s been half a year to a year and a half already and she’s still living off alimony strictly. If the child is living with the ex wife and the alimony can go to a specific bill that will contribute to the kid that is optimal. Alimony shouldn’t be some infinite cycle of payments, just makes no sense.

[–]coolhwip420 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep. I know multiple single mothers that complain about deadbeat dad's, then I watch as their kid sits in old clothes, neglected, while they're buying weed, drugs, jewelry.

[–]Koker93 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're saying this in the context of a tweet where the woman asked for 53 fucking thousand dollars a month. There are zero circumstances where that isn't a totally out of line request. Especially as child support. No one needs 3/4 million per year to successfully raise a kid.

[–]Raenning 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

After all the kids are older than 5 and in school, there is really no reason for any parent to not work at all, even if its just part time. Fine, your SO makes enough money that you dont have to, that is YOUR choice not to go back into the work field and prolonging your own career. I personally feel that alimony should only last for the amount of years that you are taking care of kids that are not in school.

[–]techieguyjames 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

However, it isn't. Child support is even used in connection with child visitation, when it shouldn't.

[–]cure4poliosis 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

1000 a month is rent in a lot of fairly cheap areas. I’m not saying she deserves a penthouse suite, but 1000 a month isn’t remotely enough for 1 person to live off of (in a lot of areas), let alone raising a child on top of that

[–]vicious_armbar 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why should he be paying her rent? He should pay 50% of the additional cost of raising his child. Ideally there should be a bank account that they both pay into, and the proceeds should only be spent on the kid. If she doesn’t make her monthly payment she should face the same legal sanctions as he would.

[–]cure4poliosis 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Because whether or not we wants to take care of it, the child is his responsibility too. The problem I have with 50 - 50 split is that if the dad isn’t involved, all the childcare goes to the mother, putting her at a disadvantage in terms of her capacity to make money.

I don’t think the mothers in these cases deserve an exhorbitant amount of money, but I also don’t think they deserve to be left out to dry, especially if the dad can absolutely afford to do so, such as in this case. If all those women are proven to be his baby mamas in court, then he absolutely take some form of responsibility.

I would literally bet my life savings you have heard at least one of his many hits over the last 10 years if you are 25 or under regardless of race

It's a lot like saying you've never heard a drake song

[–]Live-Love-Lie 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I might have heard one of his songs on the radio or something unknowingly but considering I’m from the UK, have absolutely no interest in rap music whatsoever and predominantly listen to hardstyle it’s not that unlikely to not have heard of him. Of course I’ve heard of drake that’s a bit different he’s been a big celebrity for many years. Due to every car having bluetooth/aux now you’re not limited to listening to the radio so I don’t have much exposure to any new pop songs through that avenue, and all of my friends also listen to hardstyle so over the past 6 years I’ve listened to less and less radio/pop/chart songs now to the stage where it’s once a month maybe I hear a radio.

After googling it appears he sings mask off, which I’ve heard in memes and shit other than that I’ve not heard any others, and couldn’t have told you it was even his song 5 minutes ago.

The maximum Canada child benefit you could get is $6,639 per year for children under 6, and $5,602 per year for children aged 6 to 17. Your Canada child benefit is based on your family income from the previous year, the number of children in your care, and the age of your children.

Canada got one thing right.

I think alimony is legalized extortion. I will go out on a limb here and say, every single person here knows at least someone who is unjustly benefited/benefitting from this.

If the state abolish alimony and put a limit on child support, you will see a sudden decline in soul sucking gold digger. Women will be more inclined to work and focus on career which in turn will force them to make better life choices. Women will be less motivated to marry some old wrinkly ass dude for him money or getting banged up by tom dick or harry.

I can get behind a 2 year alimony period to help her get back on her feet if she was pregnant and had to take time off work.

Isn't this better for women's advancement. These bitches been complaining about wage gap. Let's put their asses to work then.

[–]Biopharmer17 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

2 years is still a long time to be paying someone else’s living expenses. Spouses should have their own savings pre-marriage so they can fall back on them later if things turn sour.

It doesn't matter how rich the father is. If you can't feed, house and cloth a child with 52 thousand dollars a year then it makes much more sense for the father to assume custody of the child.

On 52K a year, you could have a nice apartment in peaceful neighborhood, eat as much as you wanted and go out on the weekends and still NEVER HAVE TO GO TO WORK.

[–]King_Of_Throws 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I worked at a studio he booked for a week, never have I ever seen someone so disrespectful. His girl was literally in the hospital birthing his child, and he was all fucked up on lean while literal prostitutes were grinding on him.

Studio had to call a hazmat team to clean the place up after he left, that's how bad a mess he left.

That made me laugh. Seriously though, I've heard he's quite the POS when it comes to his kids.

[–]pam_not_beesly 21 points22 points23 points 6 years ago (63 children) | Copy Link

Yeah not exactly sure how this belongs in this sub.... dude is a piece of shit deadbeat and the mother of one of his kids wants/deserves child support. Yes, the amount is excessive, but y'all seriously think she should only get $1,000? Seriously? Sometimes this sub is just "I hate women", not anything to do with "pussy pass denied".

It’s called anchoring his position, it’s basic negotiation. If she starts at her ludicrous offer and he starts at what’s fair, they end up somewhere half ludicrous. If he starts his position also in a ludicrous spot, the middle ground will float a lot closer to reasonable.

[–]Turtle08atwork 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

No, that small concession isn’t much. No bitching here. I asked a question to which you decided to get all hysterical in response.

[–]pam_not_beesly 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

....hysterical? I think you need to learn what that word means. Or do all women seem "hysterical" to you when they say something you don't agree with and prove you wrong? Read before commenting.

[–]Turtle08atwork -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You’re the one who jumped to emotional words like bitch in response to a simple, fair question. Maybe analyze your own response when someone says or asks something that you don’t agree with.

[+]BearAnt-2 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

Maybe he was a piece of shit to her and everyone else and her way of getting back at him was to make a large child support claim. We know a lot about future and nothing about this woman, can't really claim that she is any type of way.

[–]Turtle08atwork 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Sure, but let’s not assume convenient back stories for either of them.

[–]BearAnt1 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

Right, that guys word means nothing. But he's one guy saying future is a piece of shit while everyone else in this thread is saying the woman is a piece of shit... But nobody knows anything...

It's possible this woman was dumb enough to hatch this scheme of having future's baby and cashing in, but it's probably more likely that they were in a relationship and he couldn't stay loyal for shit and she got fed up and wanted custody and at least give that child as good a life as possible.

[–]Turtle08atwork 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah you’re pulling your probabilities out of your ass. Regardless of their relationship, Anyone who asks for 53k a month for child support for the average healthy child is never going to seem reasonable or likable to me.

[–]labrigade2012 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

You seriously think it takes more than 1000 a month to raise a child? What are spending that money on? 1K a month is comfortable living for a child. Food (high end) 300$ tops for a kid (month). We’re talking organic, Whole Foods just for the child. Diapers, 200$ which I still think is to much.

Remember, the child is both of there’s. There shouldn’t be a reason why she doesn’t have to also provide. Her body, her choice, her responsibility.

[–]lusacat -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

$1000 barely covers daycare for a month

[–]labrigade2012 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

She’s most likely not working and doesn’t need day care.

[–]lusacat 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If she’s not working then how is $1000 supposed to support herself + the baby

[–]labrigade2012 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Bro! I guarantee you that futures baby mama is NOT working! Hahaha

[–]labrigade2012 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]pam_not_beesly -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]ananimoosechan0 points 6 years ago [recovered] (17 children) | Copy Link

$1,000 is a great amount to raise a kid each month.

[+]pam_not_beesly -11 points-10 points-9 points 6 years ago* (16 children) | Copy Link

Not when you make millions of dollars and are capable of providing more. Hence why courts have people with higher pay pay more child support.

Edit: I swear, redditors seriously hate facts. So disheartening to know so many people are willfully ignorant when so much information is out there.

[–]ananimoosechan1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (9 children) | Copy Link

Irreverent of him being rich or not. I don't know any regular child that needs more than $1,000 a month to get by. I doubt all 1k will be used towards the kid every month.

You're telling me if you were rich and had to pay child support, that you would want to pay more than 1000 simply because you're rich?

I feel like the only answer I'll get is "I wouldn't be in a situation where I would be paying that anyway" or even "I'm a man, of course I'm going to pay what I can take to care of my child."

[+]2AlephNullAndBeyond -8 points-7 points-6 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

That’s not the point. Of course a child doesn’t “need” 50,000 a month. The system is designed to provide the child the life they would have had with both parents since it’s not the child’s fault their parents were irresponsible.

[–]KuuPhone1 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Why would that absolutely ever be a good or reasonably thing.

The father's life shouldn't be stripped away and handed to a mother, just because she decides she wants a kid, and decides she doesn't want to raise it with said man.

She can go find another man if she needs or wants that, or she can, you know, raise the child on her own.

His income is his body. His body, his rights. Imagine thinking abortion is okay, but holding a man to absolutely unreasonable payments for 18 years is okay.

[–]2AlephNullAndBeyond 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sex has nothing to do with it. This applies both ways. We as a society decided that adults are responsible for children for a period of time. If you don’t want that responsibility, don’t have them.

[+]technochristt1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

I would want to, because it's my child dude... it's not about me or my ex at that point. I know you pretty much said that in the last part of your comment but seriously the fuck. Toxic as hell.

[–]KuuPhone1 points 6 years ago* [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

He can pay for things for the child.

If he has rights, and time allowed to see the child, he can and will pay for them.

Why does the mother need money in her account. Does she not have a job?

What you're saying, and what you're advocating for, are not the same thing.

[–]coolhwip420 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Damn you must be hot on that reply, I deleted that bit, less than 30 seconds after I posted, thought I might have been harsh. But you kinda proved it.

I think that backlash I'm getting is saying a lot about the people in this sub. Believe it or don't, it really does nothing either way, but you all want proof which is indicating that you don't want it to be true. If you didn't care, you'd just move on.

Akademiks is such a gossiping little bitch. Can't stand the guy.

[–]UnoriginalPenName 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lmao until I was 18 yo my father gave 160 euros a month to my mom for child support and they both were perfectly fine with it. By the way my mom gets minimum wage yet she never complained about it, in fact she always said it helped her a lot. Future should get custody his baby mama looks like an awful person

[–]woman-sexer[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They definitely requested too much but that's still his kids. If I were him and had that much money I'd offer at least 3 grand a month. That's a pretty good amount especially if she's working too, which she should be if she's a mother. At a certain point you gotta just be a good person, right?

[–]biggunsg0b00m 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So, what does this translate to in English?

[–]Imokwi 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Baby momma's don't think that 50 is for the baby and 50 is for the taxes, they thinking damn I'm just gonna quit working

[–]TonsOfTabs 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

53k a month. Yea I would say about a grand would actually go to things the child needs and the rest is money to buy a car and then a few more months it’s a house. Shits a joke. I believe if the moms who pull this shit actually cared, they would add daycare(depending on age), college tuition(for future use.....the future future not futures future). Anyways, thinks like that would actually be doing something for the kid. I’d say a grand a month and paid child care during work hours and some kind of college fund that CANNOT be touched until the child is 18 and going into college. When chicks ask crazy shit like this it just shows they could give a damn about the kid and just want money simply because they took a past load from the future.

[–]sculderandmully2 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The $53k is too much, but the $1,000 doesn't even reach table amounts for his salary. For example where I live someone making $200k would have to pay about $2,000 a month.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is almost like women look at children as a meal ticket!

[–]shibainusaregood1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

Woman has to work, man needs to fund <1500 or 1500 till she gets a job and kid is 5 years old. Then he should cut it down to 900,for kids basic needs until he is 5-12 years old.52k is a scam and 1500 would be max for childs monthly in my country.51k is going for new lingeries for another man another day,new lipsticks and stuff...I feel so fucking weird right now.

[–]arcphoenix13 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

51k is a scam? These crazy bitches are getting millions of dollars in some cases. Court system is very biased in America. In the divorce. The judge gives alimony in a large enough amount. To keep the bitch in a "life style she is accustom to." No skills, no job, never done anything with their life. Except get married and fucked by a rich dude. Then divorce him. Then gets millions of dollars in the settlement. Fucking insane.

[–]shibainusaregood1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Still lot,isnt it?You are right though.Ridiculous

[–]arcphoenix13 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh yeah. It is a lot. But Jesus fucking Christ! That shit is ridiculous.

[–]dr197 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How the fuck do you spend 53k a month?

[–]FabulousStomach 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wtf even 1k a month is a ridiculously high sum, is that normal in the US? Is the dad rich?

[–]stevando 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The guy future is a POS father. Me makes babies with women he doesn’t intend to be with and then they end up a statistic. One of his many kids is already in jail, awaiting trial, will probably go to prison. He just keeps making babies and not taking care of them. The American people end up paying for his kids one way or another, either in subsidies on the front end or prison on the back end.

[–]ModernPanda12 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

53k ? what tf is the baby gonna do with 53k .....

[–]TheVoidExperiment 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How the fuck is it even possible to pay 53k a month

[–]gchojnacki 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can confirm that is what Nas pays a month in child support. Apparently future has better attorneys.

[–]Biopharmer17 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Receipts proving child support was spent on the child should be a requirement. Too many women think of it as their meal ticket when it should only be used to support the child not the mother.

[–]ojioni 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what happens when you breed with a stripper.

[–]tontastical 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

pretty sad that having kids you have no intention of raising because you wanted to get off and had no plans to be a father results in a victory celebration because you cheaped out. be a man dude.

[–]Jraksis -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

DJ Akademiks is just as big of a tool as Future no wonder he finds it hilarious

[–]Skow1379 -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

1k a month is ridiculous for how much he makes though. That's actually fucked up

[–]smolboi69420-57 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

He was just trolling but realistically how much more does she need then like 3k she just doesn’t want to work anymore

[–]Skow1379 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dude he's not even going to take care of the kids at all. Do you even know how much work it is to raise a kid by yourself? You guys are just salty over some dumb shit that happened in your lives or something. Don't put your dick in a woman and have a kid if you're not going to either pay up or raise it.

[–]willfulCatholic -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Realistically the child should be afforded all the luxuries that the father has because of his money. He deserves those luxuries because that is his father.

[–]smolboi69420-57 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I do t really agree with that sentiment considering the women is just going to use it to spoilt herself I do agree that like her have to pay for there private school etc

[–]Skow1379 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No. He's going to abandon the kid and leave her to raise it by herself, do you have any idea how hard it is raising a kid on your own? If you're rich and you fucking father a child you better be ready to pay for it.

[–]smolboi69420-57 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes so he should pay for them to live comfortable being forced to pay for schooling and similar things along with 3-5k a month which is not bad at all but letting the women live lavish off his money which may not even go to the kids is dumb if the women herself has a job plus like 50k a year in child support that’s a good amount of money for a single child especially if the father is paying for schooling

[–]taste_my_taint -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I know a girl who's wanted to sleep with me for a while but we were also childhood friends. This bitch has two kids with two different guys and receiving two sets of child support payments.

Less than a week ago my dad went to visit her and her mom because they're family has been friends with ours for a long time.

I guess my dad asked the daughter with 2 kids how life was. She was filled with joy, and said something like "well I'm getting unemployment because I'm not working and two child support payments every month. Everything is wonderful!"

This is a big lazy girl. I'm around 160 and she's the same height as me but double the weight I'm guessing.

She a worthless human being. Also I know that she blows a lot of that money on weed and junk food instead of cooking decently for the kids.

[–]arcphoenix13 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I had a fucked up childhood. I don't want kids. Couldn't afford them anyways. But if I had them. And I had that same setup. Cooking good meals would be the least I would do. I would try to be a fucking perfect parent. And if I didn't have a job. That would just be more time I would have to be a perfect parent. I am sick of these bitches that have kids just to get a fucking check. Fucking disgraceful. The least they could fucking do is try to raise the kids right. But no, they are lazy fucking cunts. This is why the country is as fucked up as it is.

[–]taste_my_taint 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you. To top it off, both of her kids are overweight too of course.

I'm pretty sure they live off of pizza and frozen shit.

This is America.

[–]sqrtNineBlindCats -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

53 a month is obviously bull but a K isn't cool either poor kids; obviously they're fucked.

[–]maxx_power761 points 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I bet it was $ 5300 but since Da Future is dumb he though it was 53K.

[+]Player4Hacky4 -6 points-5 points-4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He turned around and offered $1000? So? He can turn around and offer $5, doesn't mean the judge will accept it
