Seriously, I am growing a little sick of the wasteful, greedy behavior I see in women nowadays and ladies on this sub, we're better than this.

You are building a life with your man, not a designer wardrobe or a jewelry box. You know what you need for Christmas? A jamming sous vide machine to make that perfectly cooked salmon. What you don't need is another depreciating jewelry item that you might lose on occasion. Yes we're having the diamond-talk because these things aren't best friends, they're a lousy, superficial investment.

The expectation towards a ridiculously expensive engagement ring is not only screaming entitlement, but it's also unrealistic. We're in a difficult economy, women make up half the workforce ipso facto halved the pay and there just isn't a good enough reason anymore to expect such an overpriced gift for the request to start a life together.

Weddings. My husband and I didn't have a wedding - the pandemic made us wise. And I cannot stress how much of a good decision this was. I'm so happy I got to enjoy a fabulous vacation with my husband with the money that would have been spent on catering to hundreds of people we didn't really know.

Ask yourself, is it better to spend your money on things that would please other people (jewelry, expensive clothes, handbags, tons of shoes, big wedding) or something that will truly add value to your joint life (your house, your car, amenities)?

Ask yourself, is it more important to eat at the most expensive restaurant, or to invest money in things that bring you closer, such as vacations or activities that you enjoy?

If you want someone to throw money at you, go ahead and get a sugardaddy but you've totally missed the ideology of this sub. We want to build traditional, healthy, fulfilling relationships and a harmonious environment for possible offspring, that means being frugal, modest and smart with money, being appreciative of not just materialistic things but also effort that your SO brings.

Living in this day and age is difficult and I totally understand that. We are bombarded with superficial, materialistic ideals left and right. However, we are going against the grain of what the mainstream teaches women, and golddigging is no different.
