One of the smirking replies I tend to leave at places where those "even if he isn't the bio dad, he should act like a father" discussions occur is "So, if genetics don't matter and it is only the love the parents feel that matters, why are mothers so terrified of "their" baby being switched for another at the hospital?" I have yet to get any reply, let alone a reasoned response.

More seriously, if the baby's future health is her concern why doesn't she adopt? Or why not get donated sperm. Ha ha ha. Oh, that is right, she wants the kid to be hers, not someone else's, and since she got a side serving of hot sex to boot, she is winning all around. Although many things disgust me about this the way I see it, the biggest hole in her logic is the fact that she made this decision without the input of her husband. Why choose to hide such a decision from him if it really is 'for the best'?

I'll tell you why. Because deep down she knows that this is no way or form the right or moral thing to do. Does that matter though? Clearly she's shown that the hamster outruns even basic morality. Some women really do deserve to go to hell.

It's a troll. Which doesn't mean you should discount the story, because women do think like this.

Just not with the same frothing at the mouth, feminist, buzzword-using (patriarchy, "violent misogyny", etc) language and the attention whoring comments. When women tell these stories, they jam the post full of tons and tons of inconsequential, unrelated information and only get to the actual crux (in this case the decision to not tell the father and to go ahead with the baby) after they've made you shovel through a lot of horseshit. They also tend to phrase it as "help convince me that I am not a bad person, I feel weird and horrible about this but I think maybe its right, please reddit, help me hamster."

Whereas this troll is saying "I am right, I am not a bad person, all arguments against me are based in patriarchy, I am aware that this post will get a big negative buzz, and to that I say, I'm right."

it's very obviously a troll, but you probably already know that since you read the comments which all say it's a troll (but which you've neglected to show here).

people take a long time getting pregnant. and even if she slept with the other guy a lot, how could she make sure her husband doesn't get her pregnant? if she did it by not sleeping with him or using a condom, then he'd know the child wasn't his. if she didn't do that, then she cannot know who the father is.

I don't know whether I feel sick, sad or just want to laugh. So, she made a decision to cheat on her husband with a hot, successful doctor, make her husband who she "loves" raise a child that isn't his own, without even telling him, and she's too afraid to tell him. The hamstering is unreal. In one paragraph she explains why genetics are important (healthy baby), and then in the next claims that her friend has two children with an amazing father, but GENETICS MEAN NOTHING.

It sounds to me like someone banged a hot surgeon because they watched too much Grey's Anatomy, got pregnant and tried to justify it to herself. Because that's why easier than admitting she's a piece of shit cheater who takes advantage of those she loves.

Side-note: I don't know what to make of the 5000-year-patriarchal tradition of genetic heritage. Is she a creationist that believes humans have only been around for 5000 years, or that before civilization women lived in the Garden of Eden, where cavemen didn't just bash them over the head and rape them in caves for hundred thousand years? And is she so oblivious to her own desires that she doesn't recognize she has a yearning to pass on her genes, so why shouldn't her husband? I want to believe this is a troll, but modern feminists don't seem to understand that behaviour can be influenced by biology and evolution.
