What's even more fucked up is I've heard accusations of this person doing the same thing again to the mentally retarded daughter of one of his GFs. So I live with even more guilt and shame knowing that because of me being quiet, someone else experienced this fucked up shit.

Interesting thing is there are three girls I know who were legitimately sexually abused, one by her uncle and the other 2 by a teacher. I don't live in the US but this morning i woke up and checked my fb wall while doing breakfast and this me too hashtag pops out outta nowhere. At least 3 girls in my list of fb acquaintances i went to school with, posted a me too story.

A couple funny things:

I never see their posts, and i mean NEVER because i chose it. Putting them in the acquaintance list which has a low priority on the facebook wall algorithm. And i saw 3 different posts in a matter of minutes.
All 3 posts were like "A creep once upone a time masturbated while watching me" or "A hobo followed me in the middle of the night". Boo fucking hoo. Nothing like real sexual abuse. Though it's difficult to get to the original intent behind why women do this, you say that it's because "they themselves have been victims of sexual assault." Well yeah, that's probably part of it. Another part of it is showing solidarity by revealing that there is a spectrum around sexual assault, as I've read various stories acknowledging vastly different levels of severity, some being borderline, some are all-out assault. Granted many of these are ridiculous and obviously attention-garnering, as many of you have pointed out. But not all of them. Have you chosen not to mention these because you don't believe they exist, or you don't believe they should be talked about?

Something interesting happened about two weeks ago with a very close lesbian friend of mine that I've know for around 9 years. We went to a bar then a concert, then back to my place.
