This shows the inherent flexibility and realism of men. We could’ve grown up loving Eva Mendez or Natalie Portman, but it would never occur to us to hold women in our lives to such standards. Something's not right in the definition of average

Somehow I wonder, is that by nature ? Women are naturally drawn to filter out the other gender in order to improve the species generation after generation ? Only the crop of the crop is supposed to reproduce ?

Or is that cultural ? Women are shown magazines, tv shows, and targeted ads of photoshopped models day after day that the average men ( okay looking face, slightly overweight ) just looks dull in comparison ?

I've heard blue pillers try to explain away the graph by saying, "this is only considering the population on OK Cupid" - but there's no reason to believe the male population of OK Cupid skews ugly, but the female population doesn't.

The way I used to handle dismissals like that (in PPD subreddit for example) was to reply, "okay great, you're making a claim that the population of men (but not women) on OKC differs from the general population - that's a claim that you must support, and until you support it, I reject it."

Then the idiot blue piller would reply, "no! You have to prove they're the same!!" and I'd reply, I can't prove there's no difference - I can't prove a negative. You're claiming there's a difference, so you need to point it out and substantiate it.

And then they'd scurry away like the cowards they always are - having gotten used to the reddit bubble where nobody challenges them.

BTW there's also data in the form of actual peer-reviewed studies which found that there was little agreement among men as to any particular woman's attractiveness. So for example, if you take a literal supermodel you'll have a lot of guys saying, "perfect 10" and a lot of guys saying "ugh! She's a waif! No tits at all!" And on the flip side, if you take a, shall we say "thick" girl, you'll have a lot of guys saying, "damn! That's a perfect 10!" and a lot of guys saying "uh no thanks" - same with short girls, same with tall girls, same with hair, tats, anything you can think of (except being old).

This variance in male preference certainly contributes to the nice bell-shaped curve of the men's graph, but what it also means for women is, no matter what you look like, there are plenty of men who will honestly find you attractive.

But as you can probably guess, that's not true for women. Lol. For example, tall men are universally more attractive than short men. And denials of this by women are actually a meme at this point. I'm sure I can google up examples of women saying, "I don't care about a guy's height - never pay it any attention - I was surprised when my boyfriend told me he was 6-1, I really had no idea"

All of this is easily explained by evolutionary biology. Men are polygamous (liking almost all women). The variance in preferences between them is polygamy at the group level. Women are hypergamous (focusing only on the top men), and their graph is a graph of hypergamy.

I remember when I was still in high school me and my mates would consider attractive at least 30% of the girls and the rest were mostly decent or average and maybe a 2-3% were unfuckable even for us. Girls on the other hand considered a handful of boys attractive, maybe a 20% average (meaning they'd act like they didn't even exist) and the rest were abhorrent subhumans they didn't even want to get close to

I've said this before, but the fact that women claim this makes sense if we consider these graphs. An average (50th percentile) guy is percieved as ''very unnattractive'', he's right at the top of the second lowest categoty. When women see those men trying to get with average women, to them that looks like a hideous man shooting well out of his league.

An 85th percentile man is percieved as ''meh'' looking, or ''medium''. So when that guy, knowing that he is better looking than the vast majority of other men, shoots for attractive women, to women this looks like an absurdly entitled 'average joe' only going for supermodels.

Yeah. I'm tired of these meme that guys are just shallow.

It's made up by overweight women who literally do zero to change their circumstances. Or they have been "working on losing weight" for the past 5 years.

Or even just average women who are like a 5-7/10 who aren't bad looking, but also aren't going to shack up with and be the wife of a 10/10 man.

They aren't talking about the men who are fat, though. They aren't talking about the men who work at warehouses, or are plumbers, or who only have a modest investment portfolio or drive a used car from the late 90s that they fix themselves.

It's an old, worn out meme, that at this point should just be laughed at. Nice comic.

The same can be said about the lie of men getting to be "players" and women having to be "sluts". It's an insane comparison and it basically boils down to men's standards for sexual purity being different from women's. If women don't like it, they should stop sleeping with, or associating with women who sleep with players. Otherwise I'm at a loss for what to tell them.

Anyone that is interested in this kind of data should read Dataclysm: Love, Sex, Race, and Identity by Christian Rudder. He was one of the founding members of okcupid and was the guy who wrote most of the controversial blog posts. The book presents a ton of interesting data that is full of blackpills.

One of my favorite parts is about what certain categories of people are most likely to write in their profiles. So for white guys it's "my blue eyes." Makes sense since only white dudes typically have blue eyes. Asian guys number one thing is "tall for an asian." Then there's a table for phrases each category is least likely to use. So phrases least used by one group, but most used by everyone else. So for white guys it's "slow jams." My personal favorite was asian girls with "BBW", followed closely by "single mother." There's not a lot of asian girls that are overweight single mothers haha.

What's funny is that this OKcupid study is from 2009, way before dating apps were a thing.

If you were to repeat the study, the least attractive pool would contain 80 of men, while maybe 2-3% would be above average in a woman's eyes.
