Don't let some stranger's personal shit make you second guess yourself.. You know it's working so get back out there and keep sleighing

Well said man
[–]apeshite 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don’t know why you assume it’s you who fucked up. Maybe it’s her who has a problem
[–]HTML_Novice 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link
Because she had a lot of interest up until the date, we FaceTimed before to make sure it wouldn’t be awkward. She was excited.. until the day after I guess
[–]CompetitionFair7686 54 points55 points56 points 4 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link
Maybe she is the one who doesn’t have a clue what she wants, I don’t see why someone losing interest has anything to do with you.

Perfect example of how women make zero sense. You can do everything right, have a great time, and then the acceptable appropriate course of action is for the guy to go fuck someone else.
[–]CompetitionFair7686 26 points27 points28 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
That’s because women are humans with complex emotions, it’s not about doing the “right things” as if it’s some kind of computer program where you have to follow a step by step set of actions to get the final reward.
Sometimes you click, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you feel good in one moment about someone, but a moment later you don’t anymore.
Sometimes you feel like maybe you are not ready to date because you are not in the right state of mind even if the other person seems lovely, and sometimes there are also other people that makes you indecisive about what you actually want, and it has nothing to do with what you did right or wrong.
[+]no_spoon -9 points-8 points-7 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I’m a human with complex emotions but at least I can figure out whether a person and I are compatible and can communicate that clearly to the other person. I don’t need to rely on the alignment of the moons to figure whether I’m interested in someone… zero sense women have
[–]SuperbHoney4930 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
u sound like a nice person to be around, im sure that helps

I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to vent about the ridiculousness of dating these days. It is so broken and it's a shame.
Btw, do you have anything to contribute other than an attack on my character?

[permanently deleted]
[–]no_spoon -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It's like the typical, go-to response from women. Instead of attacking the argument, they attack the person. It's really pathetic.
[–]CompetitionFair7686 23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don’t date women then if you dislike them so much

[–]No_Raspberry3670 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Quit your bitching, either play the game or don’t, complaining how “women make zero sense” isn’t gonna help you lol
[+]no_spoon -8 points-7 points-6 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
You’re the one whining. I’m the one spitting truth.
[–]No_Raspberry3670 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I feel bad for any women that has encountered you with the attitude you have here. You clearly have some insecurities surrounding women and you direct that into anger towards them.
Since this is a sub dedicated to helping guys w women, I’ll tell you you will never be as successful as you wish if you are harboring negative emotions towards women. Seeing a therapist can do you very good (it did for me). Learn to appreciate women for who they are and learn how to love and vibe with their energy. I wish you the best
[–]no_spoon -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I feel bad for anyone who characterizes a person based off their Reddit comments. To each their own. Women are by definition illogical. They go by their emotions. Nothing i'm saying is false. If you want to have an actual conversation about the topic i'm all ears. Otherwise, I do just fine with women, thanks. I just notice that a lot of them are way off the deep end.
[–]No_Raspberry3670 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Imo you have a lot to learn, but if you don’t want to and think you do just fine (even tho women don’t make sense to you lol) then best to you
[–]no_spoon 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
None of what you're saying is at all enlightening or interesting. Try harder.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points25 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I didn’t because I didn’t want to come off as too eager. I though texting a couple days after would show that I was interested but not obsessed
[–]lilabelle12 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
You really gotta follow up with a girl right after the date man. Trust me on this. 😉
[–]HTML_Novice 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
From now on I will
[–]lilabelle12 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Awesome! That is a very critical part of dating.
[–]Night_Hawk1 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
Keep it simple to a next morning text that isn't super needy, just a nice reminder to refresh her memory. "that was fun." it works for platonic dates and also ones where you had sex. Night of texts should really only be if you had an intense connection and sex "have fun dreaming about what we did tonight" Followup in a day or so with a d2.
[–]lilabelle12 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
There’s no such thing as needy to text a person right after a date to tell them “hope you made it home safe” or “I had a great time with you today, hope we can do something again”, etc. You will be surprised how this actually gives people a good impression of you overall and will give you a boost in dating. “Not being needy” seems like you are trying to play games and act nonchalant. You may lose someone if you don’t grab opportunity as it presents themselves to you.
[–]Night_Hawk1 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The made it home safe check in is an acceptable text. If we have a strong connection I always tell them to text me a got home safe text and I'll respond like you said in kind.

[–]Ohhhwordddd -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]surfershane25 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Mightve been a weird shot test she does to everyone, doesn’t sound like you did anything wrong other than maybe showing too much push not enough pull. Idk I wouldn’t let this bring you down.
Edit: I’ve had someone say just about the same, kiss me at the end hard and say “don’t forget about me” and never was available again… shit like this sadly happens.
[–]Tashum 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You probably should've said "eh, we'll see. Who knows, it could end up as a bizarre reddit post."
[–]MoldavskyEDU 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
While that sucks bro you didn’t fuck up. It’s like post nut clarity, sometimes you have great sex but feel like shit after. Same thing can happen on a date it’s not your fault. Just keep trying. No point in knocking on a closed door when you have open ones all around you.
[–]HTML_Novice 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
But I don’t, she was pretty exceptional in most aspects. Hard to land a date with those types
[–]No_Raspberry3670 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Regardless if you don’t have open doors all around you, point is that door is still shut, no point knocking.
I get where you’re coming from, I went on a date w this really cute girl back in the fall and it went really well, and she was def the best girl I’d been on a date w in months. But after the date the texting died out and she stopped texting me. Sure you’ll get that mini oneitis thing for a bit but you’ll get through it and you’ll realize it just wasn’t meant to be. It just be like that sometimes with dating, you will find something even better later on, bc when you find someone you really click w, that first date isn’t even the best of it yet

Yeah, just thinking what may be sometimes the case. Either or, you will find someone better, I’m sure. Good luck!

Hi! Please dont beat yourself up over this. Something very similar happened to me recently.
I had just started to date after a two year break from dating (ended a very long serious relationship beforehand). This guy I met via Hinge was a perfect match. We both couldn't believe how well we fit.
We were texting all the time, just all over each other getting carried away, as if we were in a relationship for years.
I eventually got an invitation from him to go to his city (this is in Europe btw). I get there, we have the most amazing first day and night. The whole chemistry translated into real life. I was so incredibly happy, words cant describe it. He even said that he felt like he knew me for many years, as if we were in a relationship already and he was really enjoying the energy.
On our second day together, I felt a sudden change in energy, as if the air was different. He was getting more and more distant. Eventually I confronted him and asked whether something had changed, at first he was hesitant but eventually he admitted that isnt feeling it - "there is no romantic drive" (reminded me of what your date told you, thats why im commenting).
I kept pressing for an answer, nothing was making sense, i was so confused. He just kept saying he doesn't know, it was as if "something switched in my brain" and he stopped feeling whatever it was he felt. He said i was perfect on paper, "filled and ticked all boxes in the list", but he just didn't feel it.
After weeks of texting and a spending a great whole day and night together it was over - he could not even explain why. I had to grab my stuff, leave his apartment and find a place to stay in a foreign city I never been to, all this while heartbroken and confused. Keep in mind, it was my first attempt at dating after years.
And the funny thing is, I was originally not even looking for a serious commitment, I was slowly dipping my toes in the water again, and was looking for fun. He was the one who insisted "we give this a chance cuz it is all so perfect and I found the best girl out there". So if he was just trying to "use me" he could have easily done so without thw whole hustle of talking to me for weeks, convincing me to go stay with him for days, and then take another trip to a different city just for fun, just the two of us (we were planning on that).
We were a perfect match in almost everything - plans for the future, lifestyle, finances, business, professional aspect - even sexual preferences and desires (yup, all discussed and 90-100% agreed upon).
On our first day together we were planning trips and places we would go to. Next day he acts as if I was a stranger.
What I am trying to say is that it happened to the best of us. I have been told that I am a very pretty girl by friends and men generally. I am well educated. Am also fit, try to be kind and gentle and loving. I did my best to be the best version of myself. But it still happened to me too.
It was so hard not to blame myself at first, not to judge every flaw in the mirror. I know it sucks, rejection hurts, especially if you've had a great vibe from the beginning. But it was nothing you did, I promise. It was most certainly about her, something she was processing or going through, something from her "baggage". You never know what this could have been and you shouldn't care - your value doesn't depend on anyone's (flawed and influenced) opinion.
Please be kind to yourself (i wasn't at first, made it worse) and remember to not judge yourself harshly. Also, just to give you some perspective there are billions of people on this earth, that girl wasn't the only one or so unique as your brain makes you think. You will be fine, recollect your thoughts, process this rejection if need be and move on. Everything will fall into place.
Lots of hugs to you... Hope my comment helps...

Maybe she has something going on, don’t blame yourself. You did right, had a nice date, and the stars just didn’t align all the way. Not your fault❤️

You can’t win them all. You’ve quickly polarised her which is the goal. Thank her for the date. No contact. Move on.

How so? Wrong advice?
[–]alexandhisworld 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It may be the edible, but y’all come very analytical, matter of fact statements made about something only explained from a single perspective. It doesn’t really respect the idea of other perspectives on her side
[–]HTML_Novice 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Just because I don’t intuitively understand how to interact socially/romantically doesn’t mean my emotions aren’t genuine towards her
[–]No_Raspberry3670 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think what alex is trying to say is that everyone is trying to analyze this and figure out why she did what she did. And like many things in life, you just wont be able to, because not everything in life is straightforward logical. Chin up and carry on, it just is what it is, happens to the best of us!

[–]HTML_Novice -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I was kind to her but I would not say I treated her like a queen, she paid for the drinks and I did not stop her. Maybe I didn’t tease her enough, that is possible
[–]Carpsonian22 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Dude, treat her like a queen and pay for her drinks. If a guy doesn’t act like he’s trying to impress me then I lose interest.
I paid for the museum, it was a special kind of event for the museum and the tickets were very expensive.
[–]No_Raspberry3670 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol you should absolutely treat her like a queen wtf? This notion that goes around of “don’t be nice to women” is the most toxic shit in pickup I swear.
Be kind and sweet and show her a good time, be her man, just don’t be a doormat and act needy. It’s that simple
[–]Night_Hawk1 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You didn't sleep with her. Or make a move to. There were fuck me eyes signals. Because you didn't capitalize she doesn't see you as a man of action and it is no longer a primed doorway. Having sex with a girl on the first night does not preclude a relationship. Anyone that says you should wait is bullshitting you. What they mean is don't push for sex when you pickup signals that you are not at that level yet. But when there is a clear connection and opportunity do not blow it. in fact it bolsters it if you do it right. The whole don't sleep with her on the first night is bogus. All my longest relationships were fist night lays because the connection was that strong and we both went for it. But I also show enough value beforehand and screen very strongly to ensure there is the possibility of that connection of a first date anyway.
[–]no_not_this 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Always escalate. If she says no back off. She will respect that.
Possibly she went on another date and is fucking that guy already.
This
[–]DoomerToChad -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

[–]HTML_Novice 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]coolreg214 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
How many drinks? A little alcohol at night can loosen a person up to feel more open to ideal of building a relationship. Then after a day or two of being sober they talk themselves out of it.
Only two, we were a bit tipsy though yeah
[–]DoomerToChad 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Maybe she wanted you to bring her home, you didn't and she put you in the friendzone because. I had that. Maybe her emotions changed now. Maybe she met someone else.
Honestly I would move on, and not think about it. You could hit her up again after some time and try again. But i wouldn't think much.
[–]ChocolatePizZa4me -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What if she went on a date with another guy the next day and felt a spark?
Anyways even if she didn't, girls just are like that very very often. You can do everything right and she still drops you later and changes her mind. Happened to me too!
Also, a lot of girls are great actresses and tell you things like wow and this and that, but in reality they don't mean it or not with that intensity.
Don't trust them too much when they say these things and don't be attached to outcomes. You will find one that'll stay for longer. Trust me.
[–]wakawah -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You didn't go in for the smash that night when she was ready. So she says to herself, "why didn't he try to give me the business"? When this happens she will never blame herself, instead she will change her mind about you and no longer be interested. Happens all the time. When the pie is ready you gotta pull it out of the oven and eat young buck.
I didn’t want to push it too fast and make her think I’m just trying to smash and dash. I’ve had that happen in the past, and she was vocal about being afraid of previous dates trying to just hook up
[+]wakawah -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You made the mistake of listening to what her mouth is saying and not her body language. She doesn't know what she wants, her pussy does when it gets wet.
[–]SoulRebel99 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Another guy, you didn't escalate fast enough, etc. Enjoy your life, let her hit you up!
[–]excentrik-art -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Usually it means you did not spiked her emotions and did not made her feel horny. Most likely you were "just" talking. Not enough in todays fast paced world. Try next time being a little bit more physical with her (with consent), talking about a bit dirty things. Tell her some experience or fantasy and make her tell you one fantasy. Spice it up.
[–]EnvironmentalRule525 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Why didn’t you go for the close on the first date?
[–]HTML_Novice 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Because she was talking about how guys have gone on dates with her in the past and were looking for hookups and that’s not what she’s about.
I did not want to give her the impression I was just going for sex and not her, so I thought taking it slow would be the better option and leave her wanting more
[–]EnvironmentalRule525 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Man always, always, go for the close. It’s so important. Hook up with her on the first date then keep hanging out with her. I’ve had white hot dates go ghost due to not going for the close. Almost 0% of the time has a girl ghosted me after booking up on the first date.
I would say you should escalate as much as YOU want, show her your desire for her. Then if she feels uncomfortable taking it to a certain point, let her decide that, and then of course you respect that. Because for all you know she wanted that D that night but you stopped thinking about getting there and so no escalation happened. Sure she said she was sick of guys just looking for a hookup, but ask yourself, were you honestly looking for a hookup or something more? Sounds like something more, doesn’t mean you can’t show her you wanna bang on the first date 🤷♂️
[–]kscotty84 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As someone with an asymmetrical face due to muscle condition. This is close to home. For me there is usually attraction until I pull a big smile, and they see I am not symmetrical. The sexual tension fades after that point, pretty much every time. The "Chemistry" is simply the feeling a girl gets when they are on a date with a guy who is attractive.
[–]drueberries 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly. We always forget those times like they were nothing. But it was probably painful moment for the woman.

Although romantic, it sounds like you didn’t do anything to create excitement. Kiss her against the wall, pull away first when kissing, show a slightly dangerous/bad boy side of you.
Girls like to be kept guessing. It sounds like she knows where you stand, how you act, and you’re no longer the mysterious guy from the dating app
I feel like I did, while we kissed I grabbed her tightly around the waist. That’s when she let out the [Wow! [Name]]

Ah yes. Yeah not sure. Hard to say. Could be lots of things. Could be something out of your hands. I would have tried to get her over to my place though. Especially if you were getting a “fuck me” vibe.
