Context: Im currently living with a woman that I recently split up with. The reason for the break up is she said she dosnt feel the same way about me anymore.

Story: Trying to get back into the game after a year and a bit out of it i stumbled across Models because of this subreddit and devoured it in a day because Im a book junkie. Whilst reading the further reading section i saw the book No More Mr Nice Guy crop up. I thought to myself "As an Alice Cooper fan I have to read this book." I cracked open the first page and realised I was a nice guy. And it has held me back all my life. Ive got degrees but not as good as they could been, I havnt passed my driving test even though Im 27 and know how to drive. I also realised that this was why my girlfriend left me and the one before her as well. I read 8 chapters in one sitting. i absorbed the message of pleasing your self and that sticking up for yourself doesn't make you a bad person. Basicly a long winded version of the song "I'm Ballsy" by Arnocorps.

The next day my ex was pissed off at me for unimportant reasons. As she left the room she said something I couldn't hear so went and asked her what she had just said. The argument continued until she said something that i didn't agree with. I stopped her mid sentence and I'm paraphrasing now because I cant remember exactly what I said but it went some thing like "No. I wont have you talking to me like that. For three days youve ignored me when ive done nothing wrong. theres a line and youve fucking crossed it. Youve treated me like shit but its never happening again. Not from you and not from any one else" I said this with passion not anger. There were tears streaming down my face and my voice was quivering but i meant every fucking word. After Id finished she looked at me, all traces of anger gone and said "Thats the first time youve ever stood up to me." After we sat on the bed and cuddled, talking through our issues like two friend who live together. My point is if a woman has ever called you nice read the fucking book. Its not about being a dick to women or any one. its about going "I'm important, my feeling matter and I deserve to be happy too. Any one who dosnt think so will be told and if necessary ejected from my life." Its come too little too late for me but I might be able to save a few souls with my ramblings.
