Here is a segment from Seth, an entity supposedly channeled by Jane Roberts.

"Remember this: you have a right to say "no." In the great affirmation of your being, you are conscious. You are therefore able to make a distinction. You can like something better than something else! Within the great affirmation of your being, you can deny. You can say "no" to a situation freely and joyfully and exuberantly - and feel free, and that you are using the abilities of your consciousness, your spirit, and your creaturehood. If you say "no," you say "no" for a reason.

Last night before going to bed, I saw that I was matched with a girl on tinder. This morning when I woke up, she was no longer there which means she probably blocked me, without even talking to me. For a few minutes I thought wtf? Then I decided to put it out of my mind although it stung a little. But feeling that way is only natural I thought.

So here I am reading and I come across the above Seth segment. Then it hits me. In pick up, we are told to accept and embrace rejection. Why? I'm sure many reasons are given but none that really jived with me.

The reason why it's totally okay when a girl "rejects" me, is because of my inherent ability and the power to say no to the things I don't like. Look at the world and look at all the people doing all the things they don't want to do, living the lives they don't want to live because they don't have the power to say no. And a lot of times it's because they don't even know that they have the power to say no. For the most part, people are not raised with empowerment. In this society, saying yes has more moral value than saying no. Yes is viewed as something positive whereas No is viewed as something negative. But saying no is equally as valid and as right as saying yes.

In order for me to fully exercise my power to say no to the things I don't want, I must grant everyone else the same freedom to say no to the things they don't want, including me.

So instead of starting with trying to be okay with a girl saying no, we should start with our own right and the freedom to say no to the things we don't want. Upon realizing the full power to say no, to making conscious decisions based on our preferences, we become totally fine with other people doing the same even when it results in "rejection."

In short, before trying to learn to be okay with a girl saying no, learn to be okay saying no to things you don't want in your life.

I'm not really some kind of contributor or anything but just felt like sharing a new insight.
