You're correct in theory: you want women to know you have options. That increases your SMV and their level of attraction towards you.
But you're wrong in practice. You want to be subtle about it. If you actually have options, it won't be hard for her to figure it out (text messages from other women, you being busy a lot, etc). But if you're yammering on about all those choices, they'll see through the BS in no time.

I agree that preselection can be a huge attraction accelerator. If you tell women that a guy is taken, they rate him as being more attractive just from that. Absolutely it can work, but like everything else, it can backfire if it comes across as try-hard or inauthentic.

That's just the tip of the iceberg: They didn't even date. That tells me she was in a position to date a high value guy and she didn't have the looks, personality, wit, humor, intelligence, whatever--to land a guy like that. Maybe those guys were on to something by leaving her behind... The second clue is that she is hung up on flirting. That's all it is. She is grappling with the fact that she was in the position to land a high value guy and she blew it. She's not interested in looking deeper into herself to see what she did wrong so that the next time a pro baseball player comes up to her, she can date him--she is still just thinking about the fact that there was a (presumably) great guy right in front of her, and interested at one point, but nothing happened between the two of them. Same is true for a chick that brags about fucking any level of athlete or celebrity: they had the opportunity to build something more with that person but they messed it up (and they aren't ready to admit their part in that to themselves). Same is true for being hung up on an ex. The list goes on..

The way you respond to this is really easy. You don't.
No matter how hard a girl brags, it won't affect your ability to get her. The only time you may ever need to address this is if she uses it to make comments directed specifically at you. Like if she said, "This rapper that was hitting on me last night is way more handsome than you." to that just respond with something like, "That handsome huh? I wonder how much dick he gets."

Yes I have hung out with her in person on numerous occasions. She just recently bought us tickets to a concert. We are having these conversation in person and phone. Yes I have escalated, I hold her from behind, grab her waist.
