So. Just want to see if anyone else has experienced this type of “interview” in a group setting.

Went out with a group of coworker-friends last night. A friend of a coworker (a man, we’ll call Bill) was sitting between myself and another woman coworker.

He kept switching between us all evening, asking questions like “what are your hobbies?” and “what are you reading right now.” At the end of the night, he asked my coworker for her number. She declined, and when she did, he said something like “you’re really cool. You both are!”

Bro, I don’t need or want your validation. I knew what was happening the whole time. He was evaluating which one he wanted to try to bone, and I wasn’t going to engage, either, if he had asked me.

I assume he picked who he picked bc she spoke of how she needed to find an in-person D&D game soon. I know probably a decent number of ladies do D&D here, which is fine; I just never have and have absolutely zero interest in it. So if I come across one more dude who asks me about joining his D&D campaign, I’m going to fucking hurl. How about instead of inviting me to your stupid game night, we do something that I want to do??

Moreover, as the night went on, I just kept returning to, “he’s not even interesting. Even if he was into me, I wouldn’t be into him.” He was just one in a large sea of scrotes.

I think my least favorite part was how he said “you’re cool too!” — I’m sorry I did not make clear to you while we were sitting down that I do not give a shit what men think of me. Or maybe I did, and that’s exactly why you didn’t ask me. Intimidated? You’re not the first, and you won’t be the last.
