I'd expect that type of response from him given that he supports redshirting boys in the schooling system and that fact that he thinks feminism is for men. Only mainstream media will have him on because he tows the line when it concerns feminists and he never calls them out for what they are, misandrists. As indicated in this tweet. He's an awful advocate.

Any progressive/leftist/liberal who supports a male-only draft is partially justifying the men who decide to go to the right. At least the right promises and plans to provide benefits to men in exchange for trapping them in their gender role and advocating for male disposability.

Honestly, men should get some type of legal advantage if they're the only sex susceptible for the draft since there's not a female version of the draft, such as a pregnancy draft or something as heinous as forcing men to suffer and die (or survive with likely lifelong trauma of some sort) in wars.

Richard reeves and Scott Galloway are walking text books of double standards. When it come to woman they are modern and progressive granting all the freedoms and rights for woman to be whatever they want. When it comes to men its endless duties and obligations to full-fill the best of both a modern and traditional man in societies that do not support or reciprocate it. Good luck trying to get most men on board with that.... They are are not solving anything. In-fact they maybe making things worse.

Also the fact I have never seen them criticize feminism on seemingly anything I find very telling. Doesn't mean they still cant side with feminism but when they cant say anything bad about it I get very suspicious. It raises alarms they have an agenda in my mind.

The draft (conscription in any form, including this selective service they have in the USA) is nothing more than a form of slavery (in the sense that you force individuals toward a very specific path without giving them any choice and forcing using coercion of various means), but it is still tolerated because it affects only men. Not only men but young men, meaning the ones who usually have little economic, political and social power and leverage to protect and foster their own interest. So. this is why draft is maintained because the ones who make the decision to impose it very well know they will not be the ones to suffer the devastating consequences of it (either because they are too old to get drafted or because they are in a position to protect themselves or because they are women). Worst of it, in case of war, young men, usually the poor (look at ukrain), will be sent to the front to protect a system and a country which mainly protect the ones in power or the ones not affected by draft. These privileged groups are happy to send other to die so their political, social and economical power is preserved and protected. This is what explain the fact that this guy is ok with the draft. For him it is zero bad side effects and potentially positive effects actually.

One often portrays the issues surrounding men only draft from the view point of male discrimination but it is worse than that. it is poor (or not so wealthy) relatively powerless young men who are discriminated against and all others (women or men exempted from the draft for whatever reason) support this. In some cases, some social activists see the fact that cohorts of young men are being erased as a good point because it foster economic changes, make easier for other social classes to get access to jobs, etc. Look at the aftermath of the first world war and even the second one. I remember to have that right after the WWI, some governments and politicians, like in the UK, did not even hide the fact they were unhappy seeing that many young men coming back from the front alive. And if you check the status of the men in Ukraine, you understand the situation has not evolved that much

Calm your tatties, everyone. SMH at all the reductive, black and white thinking here. And to compare RR to Scott Galloway is just ridiculous. Scott is unhinged. RR is one of the best male advocates we have. His work has started to shift attention to the issues of men and boys. Just because you don't agree with 10% of what he says doesn't mean you should disregard the guy. I dont like that he never answers questions about circumcision, as that's just so obviously wrong. I dont agree with his suggestions for staggering boys and girls at school, though perhaps we need to address the maturity issue in anothher way. And I'm disappointed in his stance on conscritpiton here, especially since war isn't as physical as it once was and some women are stronger than some men anyway. I dont like those things about him, but he's still a very good advocate, and I think he doesn't talk about issues like circumcision because of how contentious it is. I dunno. Im not American. I dunno why they're so obsessed with mutilated babies' genitals for no reason... but yeah, a lot of you here are showing you have extremely black and white thinking which doesn't make you any better than the feminists you dislike. I thought the whole point of this sub was that its for people who understand nuance. Disappointed
