The updated law is still sexist. Only male rapists will be tallied per the definition of penetration used, so gay male victims are now counted, but not female-on-male rape. Men have campaigned in multiple countries for a truly inclusive law, and women's group successfully lobbied against them.

This bears repeating: legal updates which would have included the overwhelming majority of male rape victims, while not removing or detracting from women's rights in any way, were successfully torpedoed by feminists.

When feminists refer to that update you linked, they are misleadingly (whether knowingly or unknowingly) trying to take credit for "helping men" while having fought against actual change. It's appalling how directly feminists have stood in the way of progress for male victims.

It's feminist propaganda more interesting for what it leaves out than leaves in.

The new definition of rape is never stated. It is deceptively gender neutral language. But if you think from the experience of straight men, then you see the giant exception. A man being raped by a woman.

“The penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.”

It specifically states a man cannot be raped by a woman except with an object. When you expand the definition of rape to include men then you accept "being made to penetrate" as rape instead of sexual assault. This would go a long way for male survivors of rape.

The feminists did demand the change and the change still makes sure that only men can be rapists. In any case this UCR definition is not a legal definition but a statistical definition of rape. What does that mean? Well feminists love to lie with statistics so they are very interested in the definitions the FBI uses to count up all the cases of eg rape. The numbers weren't big enough for them to because they have more victim power if they can pretend more people are raped so they changed the definition for that reason. Nothing to do with male victims, who as I say aren't recognized anyway in the new definition.

Not that it matters because no state in the USA ever arrests a woman for only raping an adult male. So even if the stat included male victims the number would be zero. Of course from polling data we know as many men are raped as women and about 80% of the rapists are women. They're just never arrested for the rape of an adult male.

Feminists have also rigged the definition of rape to exclude male victims when it comes to those polls, calling the male victim "made to penetrate" instead of "raped". Again this is to make male victims invisible.

Because feminists hate men.

It was feminist Mary P. Koss who influenced our current laws on rape and she has explicitly stated that she crafted them in such a way as to exclude men from rape by women in the expected way:

"“Although consideration of male victims is within the scope of the legal statutes, it is important to restrict the term rape to instances where male victims were penetrated by offenders. It is inappropriate to consider as a rape victim a man who engages in unwanted sexual intercourse with a woman. p. 206”

In a radio interview, she was asked about male victims of female rapists with specific stories from listeners and she said that they did not experience the same kind of trauma that women did and that she would call the incident 'unwanted contact'.

Complete bait and switch.

The updated FBI definition of rape does nothing to help men raped by women. It's like that idiot 'expert' in the Johnny Depp trial who kept saying "sure men can be victims, other men will rape them." It does nothing about female offenders, does nothing about leveling the playing field there.

Sure, the original verbiage explicitly stated that the victim would be a woman to be defined as rape. Now it just says the victim must be penetrated by a sexual body part of the aggressor.

But for real, explain to me how that is any better at all to a man who's been raped by a woman but can't legally call it that.

Your feminist friend is cappin' you. Call her out on it. Feminists' only mandate is to protect the interests of women. That's it. If it helps men that's incidental, and if it hurts men, well, that's incidental.

Affirmative action for women, women owned business advantages, advantaging women in child custody, WEEA, VAWA, healthcare advantages for women and denying men due process under title ix, are some examples of feminist won advantages that directly oppose equal rights for men

Feminism is transparent. They will support anything that benefits women and oppose anything that may harm any woman, no matter how reprehensible that individual woman may be.

Examples:

Selective service. Equality would be require them to sign up. Their suggestion? No one should have to sign up at all!

Rape: Equality would make it so that men and women can both be charged and with equal penalty. Their suggestion? We'll expand it so we can also charge gay rapists (but still not women.)

Do feminists do anything to explicitly benefit men?

No.

I'm not aware of any feminist initiative where the primary motivation is to benefit men. Even feminist programs targeted at men are intended to benefit women. For example, MenEngage released a report called 'The State of The Worlds Fathers'. Their primary concern was that men are not doing enough childcare and this impacts women.

Show me a feminist organisation that said, 'let's put men's needs first', and I will change my mind.

Some feminists will fight for men's rights when it is convenient and the results do not weaken female priviledge. Even in these cases feminists are usually extremely passive. Like for example male only millitary service is obviously one of the worst and most blatant forms of discrimination, feminists will generally claim to be against it, but only when confronted and even then it is never "women should serve or pay" but most of the time "no one should serve or there should be a selection system for those most fit etc"

When men's right issue goes directly against women benefit, like for example giving men equal reproductive and tackling paternity fraud, that is when feminists go against equality. And it is the same with pension ages.

That people on this sub and people in general don’t always fully understand what feminism actually is or means

It’s simpler to set a sort of antagonistic baseline than to sort of go beyond that to discover that feminism is an immensely complex ideology with thousands of branching paths and extensive diverse history. Ppl just aren’t aware of what the different waves of feminism aimed to address, the constant discussions and disagreements taking place within the ideology

The focus on women only results in this ideology can be interpreted that they don’t care about men at all. The foundations are based on equality but it’s hard to see that when a lot of the time the only thing ppl see about ‘feminists’ come from harmful jabs from a fringe branch

The prior redefinition was informed by feminist PHD Mary P Koss (the creator of the feminist 1/4 college rape statistic.) you could tell them how she denied male rape victims but that will just result in either denial or no-true-scottsmaning (or you being called misogynist) so just give them that name and let them research her themselves. I'd thank them for supporting the idea that "no means no" isn't just for women and hope we can continue to work toward a more equal and just future. getting uppity when the moderates FINALLY supersede the radicals on something will never convince the moderates to stop drinking the radicals koolaid.

I mean sure, sometimes you’ll see feminists caring about men. I’ve also seen feminist social media pages talk about how we should take away the stigma around men opening up about mental health issues. That’s good they’re doing this, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t countless sexist feminists and that the feminist movement as a whole isn’t doing a lot of harm to men.
