and i haven't meet a single reasonable femnist personally in years but that doesn't invalidate the idea of women's rights.

edit: actually i realised this is a lie. i meet one about 4 years ago and for 3 years she was my teacher. she was incredibly reasonable but then her feminism was mainly second wave and even she shook her head at this last wave despite beliving they weren't done. also she never dismissed the idea of mens rights was important though i don't think she gave it much thought.

still my point stands. i have meet ONE reasonable feminist in the last 10 years and she decried most other feminists.

Hi Teddy. I want to start off by saying that /r/mensrights is full of reasonable people and there is a lot of reasonable discussion that goes on there.

Aside from that, there is very little 'hate' on the forum, aside from 'hate' for feminism which is generally well explained - even if you don't agree.

Unfortunately, the entire concept of men's rights has been the subject of a high profile smear campaign through much of the femosphere. They single out single comments/forum posts (which usually get downvoted quickly) and act as if those are the ideas / foundations of what men's rights is based on. In reality most of the MRM is based on the institutionalized ambivelance towards male suffering, and the remedying the feminist advocated positions and laws which legally disadvantage men.

Feminists tend to be, ironically, guilty of the last sentence of your paragraph there: They are hateful towards any ideas that challenge their absolute dominance in public discourse.

If you think men have any dominance in public discourse in this day and age, I don't know what to say.

There isn't a house committee on men and boys. There is one on women and girls. Is that another example of male dominance in public discourse?

Feminists have been the supporters of Primary Aggressor policies in DV. They have supported the Title IX application to sexual assault on college campuses. They supported and continue to support VAWA, a statute that uniformly describes the perpetrator as "he" and the victim as "she." And they unilaterally oppose the presumption of joint custody in favor of the "primary caregiver" standard which is essentially a presumption of maternal custody.

Yes, feminism didn't invent the judicial or legal system, but they've done their part in ensuring that the legal system is increasingly stacked against a man, no matter what his purpose for being involved in it is.

If you're not going to accept that the MRM has serious and legitimate problems with feminism, and you aren't going to respect their opposition to feminism, how can you expect to be treated with respect in turn?

I thought 2xc was a "reasonable" place?

They hate MR for the exact reason they complain about when people say they hate feminism, you say something similar about feminism eg feminists are unreasonable and there will be a torrent of comments saying "stop spreading misinformation"

The moderation over there has certainly gotten a little heavy-handed over the past few weeks. I've noticed a huge increase in the amount of deleted comments, the majority of which were in no way deserving of deletion.

Reddit is riddled with misandry and anti-men's rights sentiments(not even going to the extremist subs like srs or feminists), twoXC was build on an exclusionary and sexist premise and it has also attracted a lot of misandric, pro-feminist, anti-male individuals as well(both in its moderation and in its members). Not sure there's really much of a point in bringing up every single piece of ignorance, misandry or libel there is to be found on reddit anymore really.
