Eh. I’d say it’s more or less an even trade (some would even argue it’s more beneficial to women, but let’s not get into all of that right now 😂). You staying at home and not working means that he is now completely responsible for your wellbeing, not to mention your children’s if you decide to have any. This means he bears a very big burden - he has to be able to provide and protect not just himself, but an entire family. That’s A LOT of pressure and A LOT of work to make that feasible. We as women tend to get tunnel vision on the sacrifices we make once we submit or defer to our men, but we often forget all the sacrifices and work that men put into taking care of us.

Sure, we can wax poetic about how only “real men” or “HVM” step up to protect and provide, but then we’d be missing a very big step in making that a reality for us: we have to inspire men to WANT to protect and provide for us, even more so if you want to be a SAHW.

The reason why the idea of women wanting to be SAHWs turns a lot of men off is because most women these days have stopped bothering to inspire their men to protect and provide. A lot of women are perfectly content getting their end of the bargain fulfilled (they get to stay at home and have a protector and provider) without doing anything to make it a good deal for their husbands/partners: they nag, they don’t nurture, they don’t submit, they refuse to be feminine. On the flip side, the feminists have gone out of their way to tell men that women don’t need them to protect and provide for us, so men started wondering, “Well if she doesn’t NEED my protection and providing, then why the hell am I even giving it to her? She can do it!”

The cat’s out of the bag. Gone are the days that men’s protective instincts were felt for ALL women because we were the fairer sex. Feminism told men that we’re just as capable as they are and no fairer than any man. So now men know we don’t need their care, we have to work to inspire them to WANT to give it to us anyways. Basically, we have to make it worth his while.

I have found the complete opposite, the most nastiness has always come from women for me, generally not those with high powered careers but those who are having to work jobs they hate, or work because they aren't wanting to go without luxuries (both completely valid choices).

I think it's just your friends; the men around me seem more tolerant of * everything* than the women.

So what men are bothered by it? The ones you date, or your coworkers or friends?

Lots of guys may see it as antiquated and like it puts too much financial responsibility on their shoulders. They may also think it’s a front that translates to I want to sit on my ass all day.

These men probably haven’t had nor really been around SAHMs and so they can’t appreciate the effort it entails. In any case though, it’s not surprising that a lot of men would be averse to this idea, especially if they don’t make big money.

I think it's because a lot of men don't do domestic labor and their wife works 40 hours and still does it. If they are comfortable with the idea that other men think being a housewife is valuable by itself he's admitting that his wife is severely overworked.

Because when you wave success in the face of somebody, they will either admire it, or be reminded that they do not have it or cannot have it.

Having a wife at home is a form of success for many men, however it also puts more responsibility on the man. Modern men and women are scared of responsibility.

In this day and age, it's very difficult for men to carry the load financially. Two incomes are often needed.

How do you bring it up to men? This is important. I hear horror stories of 1st dates saying "I wanna stay home, a million dollar home on the lake, and have a luxury collection." Meaning "antagonize me im a child with sugar daddy expectations" aka "run"

I live in California, and there is a lot of radical feminism here. I’ve heard women state, “I hope my daughter doesn’t want to be just a mom,” as if that isn’t the most important job. Ironically, the majority of men would love to have a stay at home wife. Probably partially in response to the radical feminism (aka man-hating).

Probably because blue pilled men don't want to have the responsibility of being head of household. I mean, living in today's world is expensive af and that's a lot of pressure to have to provide for a family.

I dont mind providing for the whole family, as long as she does her wifely duties at home. I feel like this is the majority of men, the problem is that modern women dont pull their own weight in the relationship and expect the man to provide everything, while she sits on her ass all day and wont even have sex with him or cook for him when he comes home.
