Some women go for tall men, some women focus on personality or humor. Every woman is different. Just because your the second option to someone doesn't mean you're not someone else's golden star. There are plenty of guys in my family that are 5'3" or smaller and they're married with kids. Focus on your positive traits and don't get caught up on the traits you can't change.

It really depends on the person. If I'm completely honest, I tend to be drawn to tall, skinny men, but there are some hot shorter and/or stockier men whom I find more attractive than someone who is taller. It's ultimately about the individual. Height is just one variable. If there is a mediocre tall man and a handsome short man, I am going to be more attracted to the shorter guy. At 5'6, I'm exactly average, so for a guy to be shorter than me, he's going to be pretty short. I've dated a few whom I was taller than.
Attraction is about a lot of things, not just height.

If what redpill teaches about women's partner preference and supposed height impact were true. Then only tall men would have partners and over generations short genes would fade out and there would have been only tall people everywhere. But that's not the case right. You are short chances are your family also has a generations of short people. Guess what, the all found someone and eventually you were born.

I sympathize with insecurities but it's also annoying when men use it as an excuse of why they aren't "desirable". A man is sexy when he is confident in himself. And not fake confidence that turns into narcissism and pua tactics. I know a fat bald guy who is now sexy to me because he's growing into himself with confidence.

My partner is 5'3" and I'm 5'2".

Women who actively prefer short over tall are kinda rare in my experience - but they are out there. And there are plenty of women though for whom height isn't the biggest factor. They care far more that the guy is nice, cool, empathetic, and has a good connection with them.

So yes, a short man can be as desirable or more desirable.

I briefly met a guy who was fatter, shorter, and, according to one of my girl friends, smaller in the pants department than me. This is the same guy who bedded 2 women I didn't have a chance with. Looks really don't mean much if you're confident and charismatic. I was neither and he was both. Focus on that, not your height.

I'm 5"3 and have dated guys ranging from 5"3 to 6"3.

It was a bit odd when I dated the guy at 5"3 at first as it's rare to meet men my own height and I wasn't used to it. But he was attractive and I had a really good laugh with him, the reason it didn't work out was timing related.

I am in a ltr now with a guy at 6"3 and honest I'd prefer it if he was nearer my own height. But he's a great guy so I'll accept he's not my ideal.

There will always be some people who want a certain physical characteristic e.g A guy only dating women with big boobs but thankfully that's a minority.

A short guy with good facial attractiveness will have more success than a tall man with average to below looks.

Admittedly it would be difficult to compete with a tall good looking man, but those guys are generally top tier anyway.

I'm a gay guy, but I think height is one of the last thing I think about when considering a partner. As long as you groom well, are friendly, and take care of yourself, you'll look good in your own way. Most people won't be filtering you out just because you're short, nor will they see you as a second choice. Good luck, OP!

I’ve never thought a man’s height was particularly attractive. I’ve always been more attractive to shorter men for some reason. Maybe they hike up the masculinity or something idk. The tall men I dated were very romantically lazy. I don’t miss them period. I’m 5’7 and often wonder if men think I’m too tall for them, because I do get comments about my height a lot, but overall I don’t care. I want a confident man that’s not insecure about being with a “tall” woman.

When you pose a question like this something almost always happens. People refute the underlying assumption that the universal answer is "no". This question hinders discussion of the real issues that contributed to someone asking such a question by giving them an easy out.

Q: Does it rain every day in Seattle?

A: No. It was sunny all day on September 4th and August 21st.

That's a literal and accurate answer to the question. But it doesn't address the fact that the weather in Seattle is pretty fucking gray. And seasonal affective disorder is a thing. Though it's also in a beautiful part of the U.S., a short trip to the ocean or mountains, neither exceptionally cold nor exceptionally hot. SAD aside perhaps, if you live in Seattle you can make it work. Lots of people do.

Likewise, men who are well below average height face challenges dating. More so than men of average height and taller. And the frequency of subtle and sometimes blatant non dating/romance slights aimed at short men and the frequency of them being the butt of jokes can't be much of a boost to a short man's self image. And I suspect no amount of awareness or body positivity will eliminate people's preferences, or their tendency to be cruel.

So If I were designing a son, I wouldn't design him to be 5'4". If he had to be 5'4", I'd design in some extra optimism and resilience. If I couldn't add those traits, I'd teach them to him, because fortunately those qualities are largely matters of choice and practice. I'd teach him that his path may be more difficult than a taller guys, but that getting "there" is still possible and mostly up to him.
