Infertility killed our sex life. At first, I'd cry every time, because it couldn't make a baby. Then we couldn't, because it could impact treatment. Then we couldn't, because I was pregnant and sick. Then we couldn't, because I was a land whale. Then we couldn't, because I was post-partum from a C-section and recovering from "extensive" pneumonia and a heart condition.

Now that we have twin girls, we actually have sex all the time. I'd say two or three times a week or more is our new norm, which has always been my preference. Life has seasons.

I’ve been married 15 years. We started off every day. We waited until we were married to have sex. Then it dwindled to a couple times per week. My husband said he was unhappy about it and we were around 3-4 times a week. The last couple of years? Maybe twice a month :(

For the first 4 and a half years it was like 4/5 times a week. Now I’m pregnant it’s never at the moment lol I’m usually asleep on the sofa by 8pm. Hopefully will get it back when my 2nd trimester energy eventually comes 😂

Since we're both busy students, I see him on the weekends (Friday afternoon - Monday morning usually). We have sex every single night unless there's a problem (e.g. I was sick earlier in October and in no condition for it, he had a Monday midterm in October and took the whole weekend to himself to study). Sometimes we'll also have additional morning sex on Saturday or Sunday, and/or on Friday afternoon. I think the highest frequency we've achieved so far was 5 times in 2 days.

For the record, we are in our early-to-mid twenties and have been together for a little over 2 months. I'll also add on that we will be staying at his parents' house out-of-state for the week of Thanksgiving since we both have the whole week off, and we've agreed not to have sex there unless everybody's out of the house...partly because the bed won't allow us to be discreet.

I'm so sorry y'all are going through this. I'd recommend a counselor. Ours had us go through this awesome book called "rediscovering the pleasure" it's religion based but even if you're not religious it's still very helpful and the "exercises" are fun lol. We have sex mostly every other day and sometimes have weeks where we do it every day. Hope everything works out for you!

Once a week typically. Once I’m done having babies and can really focus on my body and being sensual, I hope the frequency increases and we can make our sex life more of a priority. Sometimes I wish I had a more sexual husband, and other times I’m thankful to not have a husband who nags me for sex every day. I flip flop depending on my own libido lol.

Define normal.

If I were to plug you and your behavior into a normal relationship it would be likely ruinous to the relationship in nearly every scenario. So by that metric, if we are defining normal as "healthy" then no. That is not a healthy approach to sex for a fulfilling and mutually satisfying relationship with most men.

Are you alone in having emotional/physical discomfort regarding sex? No. But that doesn't mean you should strive to continue being a cardholder of the "sexually averse club" if you are looking for a sustainable relationship.

This is random but it changed my life. Get your hormones tested. Especially get your DHEAS checked. It's a precursor hormone to the sex hormones. My libido was low most of my life and I figured it was my personality, but doing fertility testing I discovered that my DHEAS was really low. I did a lot of research, talked to my doctor, and I started a DHEA supplement (not to be confused with DHA). My numbers went to normal, but I continue taking it to maintain it. Turns out it was NOT my personality or any kind of orientation. It was just my hormones. My husband and I are both SO much happier in our sex life. Side effect: men catch my eye more often now. Lol

Well my husband is in the Navy and is going to live in California for a few years so we're trying to get in as much sex as possible since it won't be easy to get until I visit him. So we're doing it more than I'm used to. As in to the point my sex drive dropped. Lol. I would say under normal circumstances it's about twice a week if I'm lucky. When I'm getting near my period I'm horny everyday but he's opposite which makes me want to claw plaster.
