So this happens every once in a while. I'm a very opinionated person and get into reddit arguments once in a while. However there seems to be a difference when I argue with men and when I argue with women. Not always, but often enough for it to make me think. When I strongly disagree with a man, usually the angry redditor in question may insult me, call me stupid or somehow try to make him look superior. With women however it sometimes happens that they stalk my profile to find anything to use for psychological warfare. And I mean completely unrelated things. For example I am very open about losing my virginity due to rape by a woman. I can't count on one hand how often some woman I had an argument with tried to use that against me, when the only way she was able to know this is stalk my comment history.

I'm actually at peace, I've been to therapy and there's not really a way to hurt me with my past. However I know that in general that's for from everybody. If you open up and share your most traumatic experience, someone trying to use that against you to hurt you on purpose is simply disgusting. Me being able to take that doesn't make their actions any better.

I honestly doubt though they would react that way towards a woman. Maybe I'm biased - I'll happily have my views on that challenged - but there seems to be a notion that it's okay to hurt men, especially psychologically and emotionally. Maybe not okay, but definitely "not as bad". The anonymity of the internet does the rest.

My latest interaction just made me think about this and I'd love to hear the opinions of you guys on this. Also feel free to check my latests comments if you want to read it for yourself.
