I think it's crystal clear on what's going on here. Basically it's just yet another case of the same s**t with all these feminist female writers and directors (who are only in the positions they are in due to diversity hiring, affirmative action and discrimination against men) - they take an existing IP/franchise and ruin it by changing it into something that it isn't, in this case making it into some kind of a "romcom" to pander only to the female audience, and to spite the male audience and the original fans of the franchise.

Cavill is a gamer, a bit of a nerd (which are good things by the way) and has knowledge of the series/franchise, so over time he was clearly unhappy with all the changes made to the "lore" by the female writers and directors, which resulted in him having to fight back against and correct all these changes. Of course, they've tried to spin it as if Cavill is the one 'ruining' things.

And of course, the usual Social Justice/Feminist doctrine is made in the form of so-called 'sexism against women' and 'toxic misogynist gamers' whenever a man disagrees with women and doesn't do what they want. They know they couldn't let an opportunity like this pass by without peddling that SJW narrative. They missed calling him that German socialist name though. So I guess Cavill not taking his shirt off for the women is misogyny now.

If the above isn't bad enough, here's what infuriated me the most though. You see where the writer says:

"He decided that he didn't want any romantic scenes at all. No kissing, no shirtless scenes, etc."

You know how we're now constantly told and lectured on how great and empowering it is that female actresses are now refusing to do scantily-clad or nude scenes because it's "degrading", "sexist", "objectifying" and caters to the "male gaze", and how "problematic" it is when male writers and directors implement these scenes?

Well apparently it's now completely okay when female writers and directors have shirtless scenes and/or nude scenes of handsome well-built men in their script. Even if the male actor dislikes it and is uncomfortable with it. And every white-knight, feminist and those in the industry praises and celebrates it. Even the Normies do, because these days they are basically braindead sheep who believe and follow whatever the Woke SJWs spew out.

Can you just IMAGINE the outrage and lynch-mobbing had instead it been male writers/directors who complained of a female actress refusing to take her top off to do bikini/lingerie scenes? The whole world/industry would have a meltdown and the male writers/director's heads would be on sticks in less than a week.

I'm glad Cavill refused to do the shirtless scenes. And I hope more male actors follow. I think it is clear that female writers and directors are treating lead/handsome male actors like pieces of meat both on and off the screen.

And no, I do not accept the "male power fantasy" and/or "power dynamics" arguments. Anyone who tries to use those arguments are just trying to justify double standards. Titillation is titillation.
