5) Did either party name the other as their spouse on their health insurance, life insurance policy or pension?

This makes me kind of sad, but on the same note, it kind of encourages me to be the best wife I can be someday when I do get married so that my husband doesn't feel trapped or have regrets.

I remember my father complaining to my mother not wanting to give him one small cupboard in the kitchen where he could put his Marmite etc.

In this massive kitchen he had built for her, she would not allow him the tinyest little space. It was her kitchen and she needed all the space to put things as she wanted.

From the perspective of a mid 20s guy a better way to look at this is with the question "Why would a man want to get married?" Those listed are all real reasons to avoid marriage but I think it's more interesting there are no reasons to seek marriage. There are negatives but no positives.. Why would I do that to myself?

And if there is a positive its securing sex for the rest of your life. That is a horrible reason to tie yourself to someone. It is basically an unimaginably costly form of prostitution. I say this because I have seen a couple guys make the mistake or start considering it and they all have things in common which are basically this.. It's after college/early 20s and they can't get sexual partners regularly anymore and are starting to get lonely as their guy friends move around. They are making decisions out of emotion and depression. Not good.

When a woman tells you they truly love you and want marriage and kids and all that after you've just spent an extended period being lonely it obviously makes you feel great even if you're not sure about it. But you have to keep in mind that "love" inevitably fades pretty quick and the relationship becomes "what are you doing for me vs. what could other people be doing for me"..and the divorce numbers show you are going to lose in this situation. Here is my advice to lonely guys...go make more guy friends. And if you really can't stand not having sex, escorts are way less costly than marriage in every way..$$$, emotional pain, time, freedom, DIGNITY.

Obviously every man needs to make his own decision but the chances of legal reform ever happening are basically non-existent.

MGTOW is the only real solution in this case.

This seems spot on, which is odd, because usually they miss the point entirely.
