Of course that the men that focus on showing off and building up their money/status/looks/charm look like assholes/bad boys compared to the men that focus on showing off and building up their moral fiber.

A bad boy to me is someone who lives life dangerously and who doesn't always respect authority. I don't think that a bad boy is someone who is going to treat a random person badly. I think that almost all women are turned off by this. On the other hand, many women do like the dangerous, anti-authority type guy, although not all women prefer that type of guy.

But in this context to me a "bad boy" ohase is when a girl is younger in high school or college that's when she dates the dude who is a little rebellious, maybe a little Counter Culture, has an edge, maybe has that cool douchebag vibe, he may actually even be a criminal and yes he has a lot of those attractive physical characteristics, etc

Maybe he has a motorcycle, maybe he plays in a rock band, something like along those lines and of course those standard traits that are always going to be attractive such as confidence, ambition and so on and so forth

It really depends on the environment.

The bad boys in the hood are actually violent dudes who puts hands on people. Robberies shootings murders assaults etc.

In the suburbs it’s like mostly douche bags. They might commit crimes but it’s white collar shit like insurance fraud and credit card scams or going I got their moms cabinet and selling pills. Like there was this one girl I knew in high school who bragged about her “bad” boyfriend who did this crime. He wasn’t putting his hands on anyone though lol.

Were there “gangs” yeah, but they were mostly posers. Those dudes would get their asses kicked if they ever tried to step to real gang bangers lmao

In that discussion I was not really talking about what I think a "bad boy" is just how I see the archetype is portrayed and sold in the pop culture industry.

In the real world I don't even consider the concept of a "bad boy" relevant . In the real world you have decent men,dumb assholes and absolutely evil motherfuckers. I think the sweet spot for attracting women is somewhere between a decent man and a dumb asshole. The third category is more of an outlier but you encounter them often enough, they are not exactly popular with anyone.

There’s no one definition. Usually it’s going to involve confidence and some level of willingness to take risks and break the rules. Usually women envision someone with these traits who isn’t really an asshole or an actual bad person, but often that reality comes out later. Often comes out with “nice” guys too at some point.
