Do you bump into her often? Are you going to live there for a while? Things to consider when assessing if it’s worth it or not.

I mean personally I’d probably say fuck it and go for it. Worst you have to deal with is potential awkwardness later down the line.
If you do go out with her don’t go for sex the first date, but check her for red flags just to make sure it won’t blow up in your face. If you still feel good about it proceed.
My two cents, or what I would do

Worst case scenario: His desk never gets cleaned
[–]airportag 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Costanza will say avoid
[–]ShadowFoxxx15 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I second this
[–]TheOffice_Account 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Been at the job for years, will probably be here for years to come. I see her once or twice a week right now.
Are your papers and office materials all locked up? In these cases (shitting in the company ink), you have to consider the worst-case scenario - she turns out to be cray-cray; she is okay, but her colleague gets crazy jealous, etc - and ask yourself if you are prepared for those outcomes.
If those things happened, will you be ready to handle it?
[–]zx91zx91 33 points34 points35 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No girl goes up to ask you those questions randomly. Think. When does any random girl whether she is interested or not go up to any man to make small talk, let alone any human? Definitely interested. Make a move.
[–]dinosaurtorialist 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don’t think OP is unsure about her interest level. They’re concerned about the implications of getting involved with someone you see around work. I’d agree with OP that that is a little more complicated, esp if things don’t go well or if they even just get awkward
[–][deleted] 71 points72 points73 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Getting to know this woman away from work should not put your job at risk. Invite her to a pub or coffee shop where you hang out. Nothing wrong with that!
[–]OuchCharlieOw 37 points38 points39 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Slightly unrelated but watch “The Red Dot” episode of Seinfeld. George bangs the cleaning lady at his desk gives her a damaged discounted cashmere sweater and then gets fired after she rats on him lmao
[–]jackitaq 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
“Was that wrong?”
[–]Swiftjay69 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
“You know I gotta plead ignorance on this one.”
[–]Far-Difference6591 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Ohhh George.. Cashmere? Ohhhh I've Always wanted Cashmere... Haaaaaaaa super funny.
There is an Ep where Jerry starts doing his cleaning lady too

Ahh I’m going thru the seasons right now. Also started Curb last night
[–]WastePurchase 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You're in for a treat. I watched all of Curb over the years and have just started watching Seinfeld now that it's on Netflix. So good!

damaged
It's one tiny dot, you can barely see it.

It's not like dating a coworker is always going to end poorly, but it's never worked out well in the end for me. Don't shit where you eat, and all that.
Take time to get to know her better, before making a move. You can decide if you really want to go for it, and she'll be more comfortable around you, less of a job hazard that way.
[–]the_bbutterfly 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Go for it

[–]the_bbutterfly 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Saying hi, asking some stuff or opiniões, go in a non threatening way, that dosent cost your job.
If she receptive keep pushing if not forget it.
If u do the things right it's pretty easy to notice if u can push forward or no
[–]LordCarnifex 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Go for it but everything needs to be away from the office, otherwise people will be cynical and say it was a power differential/pressure thing on your end.
[–]RProgrammerMan 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think if you don’t work with someone or they aren’t in your chain of command then it doesn’t really matter. Just don’t do anything you shouldn’t be doing anyways.
[–]DaeDimple 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Go to an event. Live music, comedy show, something that you’d do regardless. Tell her she should join you and if she’s interested she will without the pressure of it being awkward. Once you’ve crossed that line and you spend time together out of the office you’ll have a better idea if it’s worth pursuing. (My two cents) This usually works pretty well for me.
[–]sweetestpineapple 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have. He was cute. We ended up having a pretty great relationship after. Just make sure she’s into you too and matching your energy.
[–]TheRiverOfDyx 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Why care if it goes south? Just ignore her and do your job, you’d not be in a relationship anymore. Coming from a serial coworker dater
[–]Unforsaken_Dick 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My logical brain says no, dont shit where you eat. But my primal instinct says go for it bro, take your shot! Honestly, I think you should take your shot!
[–]TheBurningStag13 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Her job shouldn’t matter mate. If you dig her, go for it. It’s not as though you’ll see her frequently enough that it should be an issue.
[–]AbjectScar3729 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Go for it!
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Dude why would that put your job at risk? According to the circumstances, it seems like you could probably control who finds out.
[–]IanWorthington 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Been there. Done that. Do it.
(She had an interesting backstory: her husband was in jail for killing her ex-husband. What could possibly go wrong? :D)
[–]Sensitive-Permit-877 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
George castanza is that you?
[–]eatout2helpout 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
of course she's worth it just keep the actual sex off the works premises I can't see any problem
[–]alchemysauce 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
George Constantza? Is that you?
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Unless your worried about her being assigned to a different building and disappearing over night, I would see no reason to rush a work flirt, those are best to slow burn, every time you see her have an interaction and this will build the desire overtime then since it’s at a place you work this also acts as a vetting process to see if she really is into you so that when you finally do ask her out you know 100% she will say yes! I have successfully done this Same technique multiple times and it works great! The only thing that is different is the frequency of how often you see her, I saw all the women I slept with from work everyday, the gap in time between when you see her might help to create intensity but this advice is the safest way to approach while using abundance to have other options outside of this to hold you over while you slow burn this seduction
You work for different companies. Should be fine. If you are that worried about your job, that may be something to think about.
[–]SpinCity07 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Jerry did that and it turned into prostitution.
[–]aidsjohnson 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's obviously your life and choice to make, but I would personally never get involved with anyone at work regardless of what floor they're on etc. Securing your finances is more important than any potential flings that may come your way at work. There's just too much potential for things to go wrong. It's especially not worth it when you consider the fact that there's a great big world out there filled with women you don't have to worry about your job over. This isn't the 70s, you can get in trouble over work crushes these days. Act accordingly.

[–]brabus4 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If the job doesn't mean much to you go for it. But if you are living paycheck to paycheck and won't be able to find a new job immediately, I wouldn't try
[–]dark_helmt8 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Why did this immediately set off Bang Bro scenarios in my demented head?
If she asked me to her get something in the broom closet, like a cleaner or an orgasm, or rub out a difficult spot on her heyhey with my tongue, Id be like Mr Clean for sure.
[–]777MK777 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
George Castanza got fired for “dating” the cleaner at his new job.
[–]Bergatario -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Cleaners are the best because it's like getting sex on delivery when they come to clean your office late in the evening.
[–]MeWuzBornIn1990 -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Tbh, don’t shit where you eat.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don’t generally date co-workers or anyone from work, tends to complicate things.
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
[–]Used-Basil3503 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Women wanting to date men on the same intellectual, educational and financial level as themselves doesn’t make women cold or heartless. It’s called having standards.
[–][deleted] 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
[–]Used-Basil3503 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
However If the OP is an office manager and she’s the janitor, he needs to be careful cause there’s glaring status, power, intellectual and financial incompatibility. He may just want a sexy fling or live out some fantasy, and she might want something entirely different like commitment, money and marriage lol
[–]Klondy -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would never date anyone that works with/in close proximity to me
[–]Comprehensive_Taro48 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't shit where I eat or sleep
[–]FakeSafeWord -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Don't shit where you eat, stupid. There's plenty of women that don't work in your building. Go after them.
[–]daysinnroom203 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This one likes him- and technically they don’t work for the same company
[–]FakeSafeWord 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]i_love_crazy_hobos 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I wouldn’t. I feel that you wouldn’t even consider this if you were out meeting more chicks. Go out and work on meet more chicks instead.
[–]Tom38 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She has keys to all the rooms. Y'all could have easy sneaky links.
[–]NewCommonSensei 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]FiddyOneCent 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
