First thing to think about is whether or not you still find her attractive or not.

If you do, you have a few choices:

Ignoring her shit test and just pitching your "date" plan,
Trying to guess what "playing your cards" means and doing that,
Or dropping her.

There are two main possibilities here, I think. She's either shit testing you, in which case, there will be a solution to her shit test that she may even help lead you to, or she's not shit testing you, she's just passive-aggressively turning you down.

Edit: to me this has a feel of "if I'm a good boy I get a reward" which I find loathsome.

I find this kind of female tactic to be loathsome also. It assumes that you already like this girl when she hasn't actually had the chance to prove herself yet; it's presumptuous on her part.

On the other hand, you did force her hand a little by using the word, "date". By doing so, you created a frame for your interaction with her where you are petitioning her using a more serious word, you've made it seem like you've already decided, and she is in the role of decider. The problem with this is, as I've implied, you don't actually know if she's really that cool yet.

Whereas, if you had proposed some activity together without specifying that it's a "date", you still could have explored the situation to see if you wanted to kino escalate, etc: the fact that it wasn't formally called a date, wouldn't have prevented you from doing so.

And move on to another subject, you don't want to linger on an affirmation of interest for too long, it becomes too serious and unless you can start being intimate right there that's not a good thing. It depends on the context, but that might be such a green light that you should kino and see where it takes you.

She'll probably give you another smartass answer back, either being playful or arrogant, but hopefully acquiescent. Just be cocky but warm/playful, perhaps joke back saying something like, "Hope you've got an ace up your sleeve or something, cuz I'm the house and the house always wins."... blah blah, something like that. It's important to be playful, whether you're saying it with a big smirk or deadpan, you've gotta build the sort of tension/excitement that you might build if you were playing a prank on a friend... except more flirtatious.

I'm big on the inner-game. Instead of taking a case-by-case approach to these sorts of things, I maintain the general belief that girls are fucking brats and that I don't have time for games, unless they're fun. I also maintain the belief/behavior/attitude that I'm the selector and she could displease me at any moment by acting a fool/bitch.

If you give a girl her own shit back to her, in a masculine manner, and both have fun with it, it's a concoction for chemistry.
