You know how much it costs to be a woman?

Upholding beauty standards set mostly by men like being skinny, hairless and naturally beautiful. Buying menstrual products every month. Paying for birth control directly or through supplemental insurance. Taking more alternative medical routes because of the lack of research in healthcare for women. Cleaning products for our vulva because we should not smell like ourselves but like flowers. More transportation costs just so we don’t get kidnapped.

All the while we still have a pay gap of around 20-22% worldwide for the same work as men do. So, let’s face it: we live in a world where women get paid less and it costs more to be one.

This proves the writer has no clue.. beauty standards are set mostly by WOMEN
Its WOMEN who judge other WOMEN for wearing the same dress to multiple events..
Men don't care if you wear the same dress to multiple dates or events, other women who know you will judge you for it though.

As for makeup most men don't actually care for it

Millions of women face sexual violence each year (also by dates and friends), and research shows that worldwide every ten minutes a woman still dies because of femicide.

And this is where I stop reading the article.. the fact that she refers to any and ALL deaths of women as "femicide" which is literally a dog whistle term used to make women dying more impactful just proves that she has no idea what she is talking about.

In synthesis, traditional feminists borrowed hypocrisy and modern feminists straight up stole it and I doubt they’ll never give it back.

Conveniently refusing to also ask for the ‘right’ to be used as cannon fodder when protesting for the right to vote and work was one thing. Yet, nowadays…

They label themselves ‘strong independent women’ yet refuse to act as such. Demanding chivalry, princess treatment, and other acts of service.
They protest about the ‘wage gap’ yet demand and refuse to date a man who makes less money than them.
They protests about the objectification of women, yet demand to be treated like prostitutes claiming that they deserve to be paid simply for their time.
They protest for the abolishment of gender roles, yet demand for men to keep theirs. Not only that, but they also refuse to flip the script, making women the breadwinners and men the homemakers.
They are the greatest allies of the LGBT community, until a man dares to pronounce the word NO.
They scream ‘NO MEANS NO’ until it’s time for a man to give his consent.
They protest about ‘toxic masculinity’ then proceed to throw a tantrum about the lack of ‘real men’.
They call men pedophiles for wanting a woman that simply shaves, while their ideal type is literally a TEENAGE father.

Feminists will complain that women are oppressed because of "patriarchy" and argue that they just want equality, then turn around and expect men to pay for everything like their fathers, accept them completely and unconditionally like their fathers, protect them like their fathers, provide for them like their fathers, make all the plans and lead like their fathers, know everything and never have to be taught like their fathers, be taller like their fathers were(growing up), tolerate all of their emotional abuse and hatred like their fathers, etc.

As a gay guy I’m happy to not have her in my dating pool. A few gay guys look for ways to recreate that dynamic between two men, but it’s not for me and it’s incredibly liberating that there’s no social “rules” trying to impose that nonsense on me.

Of course the primary consideration of sexual orientation is “Whose body is possible for your attractions vs whose isn’t” but I have to admit I smiled not just when I finally accepted myself, but when I realized I didn’t have to entertain that kind of daring toxicity.

I’ve even joked with straight friends “Are you sure the boobies are worth it?” Ha. It’s a joke but judging by the reaction of more than one friend a lot of straight guys find that level of entitlement unreasonable (or on a milder level, it instantly catches a guy’s attention when a woman doesn’t have that assumption/expectation).

Whether I agree or not, I, as a lady, at least understand where most-ish of that is coming from.

However, I think the emotional labor part is such complete bullshit. It blows my mind. It’s called talking, interacting, caring about another person, having a close relationship.

If you don’t want to be a housekeeper or an emotional punching bag, then don’t. She’s acting like there is no choice about that. People teach others how to treat them. Act like a doormat and someone will treat you like one.

Any self-proclaimed feminist that ALSO demands a Man pay for dates, lead, etc., outright concedes that authentic Patriarchy is not only true and necessary, but unavoidable.

The second a Man (capable of paying and leading or not) suggests He won't or shouldn't have to, such a woman automatically gets angry and resentful. Frankly, too, I might say rightly so. However, the way she demonstrates those emotional states also matters. It is possible to be put-out and frustrated without acting like an absolute monster to others.

Btw, I will (forever and always) stress that western culture's understanding of "patriarchy" is inverted and twisted. That understanding of true Patriarchy is a fictitious version of it. It is perpetually conflated with misogyny when, in reality, the two notions are complete opposites of each other. They do not and cannot coexist.

True Patriarchy is profoundly reciprocal being centrally about a good and honorable Man/Husband taking care of a virtuous woman/wife taking care of her Man, any resulting offspring, and their residence. The Man, too, is burdened with the overarching responsibility to lead, protect, and (ultimately, ideally in the context of marriage) provide for His entire household. They build the nuclear family unit which is THE single most vital building block of any society... without which you have no society. The feminist ideology, however, has among its core tenets the outright destruction of ALL of that. Thus, by default, feminism is a suicidal equivalent of cutting off your nose to spite your face. If anyone doubts Me, go back and read the words of the founding voices themselves. They outright admit it in their own words. They embody the very spirit of misandry itself.

So, I say all that to point out that any woman (or any person at all) who, uninformed, blindly embraces feminist ideology merely because that's all they've been presented with as a mode of being as a human society... YET such a woman also demands a Man fulfill traditional duties and responsibilities WITHOUT her also fulfilling traditional feminine duties and obligations is suggesting an unavoidably imbalanced social arrangement destined to self implode if attempted.

No woman, for merely existing, is automatically entitled to any Man's time, attention, affection, or resources. A woman must earn those things. In fairness, it's also true that no Man just for being Male automatically deserves a woman's time, attention, and obedient deference. Those, too, must be earned. There must be a mutually proven worthiness.

So, to the woman in question, I suggest... truly do yourself a favor, (try to) readjust your world view, and concede that authentic Patriarchal values and relationships roles not just matter but are necessary. Search deep inside yourself, think of what you are ACTUALLY attracted to in Men and/or in any relationships you've had (or elements of them) that have worked the best, and you'll start recognizing the truth of My words above.

It’s weird cause I think the expectation that men pay for all dates is specific to the US. I don’t think that culture exists in Europe and it doesn’t in Australia (to the extent it seems to in America)
