My man, well he's pretty great. No complaints there. I mean, he's not perfect, but no one's perfect, right?

We're in it for the long haul, but I've consistently had one specific issue pop up - ghosts of boyfriends/crushes past aka the ones that got away.

As much as I love my man, occasionally I'll catch wind of an old flame breaking up with their significant other and it makes me want to jump ship. Of course, I dont. That would be silly and reckless, but it bothers me that I have these feelings in the first place.

For the most part, these are not exes, but rather guys that I had a crush on or dated for awhile, but it never turned in to anything serious.

In some cases, I think it might be because the guys have what I perceive to be a higher SMV than my guy. Then I start to wonder, did I choose wrong? Am I settling? Should I have waited for something better? For reference, the guy I'm with is a solid 7 or 8, depending on who you ask, while these other guys probably fit into the 8 or 9 category. When I started the relationship, I was probably an 8 or 9, fell back down into 6 category for awhile, but am proud to say I've recovered my 8-ish status. I know, though, that there are ALWAYS going to be guys with a higher SMV than mine, just like there will always be girls with a higher SMV than me.

So, how do I stop having these thoughts?
