I keep hearing complaints about lack of investment from either side in terms of planning for dates. I wonder what do most of you even do on dates and what does an average date look like for you?

I personally like simple dates with alcohol. I'm.getting to know someone, I want to talk about stuff, relax a bit, not go parachuting with them. I'd say the best dates are meeting at a nice relaxed pub or cafe and having drinks together, what more do you need? Nothing fancy, charming ambiance, not too packed or loud.

Alternative versions are coffee/beer date during the day. I'd suggest trying a restaurant only later in a relationship, and seeing movie or a play both are interested in some time down the line followed by some beers. Concerts of something you both like can be ok to attend together but really does nothing for date itself. Walks in the nature are nice but more something you'll do later on, its not exactly the preferred setup for a date.

Imp just keep it simple, have alcohol and a chance for good, one on one conversations, you really dont need to get creative on a good thing.
