My thing with the condom issue isn't that I think it's the man's responsibility and not mine. I'm just amazed at how nonchalant so many men are about it. I always insisted on condoms and refused to have PIV without it, and I always bought my own because I have a latex allergy and for some reason most guys don't buy latex free condoms. But it's just crazy to me that, without exception, I was ALWAYS the first to bring it up and in some cases the dude looked at me like I had two heads. I want him to STOP and PUT ON A CONDOM???? Now???

And that's not even getting into guys who beg not to use one when they know you're not on any other sort of birth control. Or the guys who promise to pull out, and then don't, and then think you're overreacting when you immediately go to the store for plan B.

It's just wild because at least women know we have a fallback plan if we accidentally end up pregnant. Men don't, as we're constantly reminded here. You can argue that's unfair and I think I'd even agree with you, but that's the world we live in right now. So you'd think men would avail themselves of the few options they DO have so that their reproductive fate wouldn't be left entirely in the hands of some girl. And yet.

How about all guys get to play Russian roulette everytime they are party to an illegal abortion in the name of equality, its estimated about 10% mortality rate. Oh hey maybe we can get dad's hormone replacement and other such things to simulate pregnancy and birth so thats fair too. Hell, we should find a way for guys to have periods for 30—40 years so we're all fair. Screw it, let's get all men on estrogen from puberty, their physical strengh advantage is unfair and I'm jelly of that too.

All illegal abortion does is make more men stuck with child support, more child poverty, more crime, greater burden on the foster system and more women dead.

The reason why women complain about men and condoms is not that they won't wear one when asked. The reason is a large percentage of men never shut up about wanting to take it off. It's frggen annoying and one of those things young women can easily bond about.

You misinterpreted. Women are aware that most men go along when they bring their own condoms. You're arguing the obvious, as functioning women do bring their own.

What men often do is complain about condoms and ask women to take care of birth control. In some cultures, this is a demand.

Your post seems to lack the knowledge that most sex and birth control issues exist in the context of relationships not Tinder hookups. Within hookups any sane women brings her own already.

Look, it would be great if things were equal. However, the fact that women carry the child makes things unequal, and atm that s just too damn bad, there's nothing that can be done about it. Women will have one more "out" simply because they're the ones carrying the child. If it were the other way around, men would have one more "out".

Believe me, I'd be so happy if there were a way to take a fetus out of a woman and put it in an artificial womb or something. I'd be all over that shit. I don't want to be pregnant or give birth, that sounds awful and is one of my worst nightmares.

Yes, women get one more choice than men do. But everyone knows this. It doesn't come out of nowhere. So men just need to be careful and make sure they know and trust the person they're with if they want to not use a condom. Yes, both partners are responsible for unprotected sex (in normal cases; stealthing, rape, lying, etc is obviously a different case) but men already know this. It is in their best interests to be responsible and wear a condom if they are at all uncertain of their partners bc status or beliefs on abortion.

This fixation on "fairness" is beyond me. It's not fair that women exclusively have to deal with pregnancy and birth (also periods uuugh), but it's just too bad, nothing can be done about it. It's not fair that women have one more chance to end a pregnancy, but it's just too bad, nothing can be done about it. The vindictiveness you have toward all women for simply having a different set of organs down there is astounding. I would love for you to have the ability to carry a child, I wish men could do that so I wouldn't have to. like a parent is responsible for a child, it is the one that is considered ultimately responsible that is receiving respect. this is actually a case of highlighting men's power and minimizing female agency. it's misogyny not misandry. (imo)

i know that it plays out practically as unfair towards men, but that's the natural way of things when some group thinks they're the victimized and yet they are able to punish their persecutors. as you point out, the weak victim develops a feeling of entitlement (entitled to retribution). this is the predominant mentality of the left these days so there's all kinds of analogies to be had.

conversely when men seek to avoid responsibility they are simply denying their control over their own lives (lack of agency). this is contemptible weakness and misandrist if anything, not misogynist.

Dudes here always go on about how rape is illegal and women can just say no. Like, the majority of rapes go unreported and even the majority of the perpetrators of those who do get reported don't even go to jail. The system barely protects women.

Moreover, how often do men even raise children that aren't theirs? Why are men here always so concerned about that shit?

Anyway the point is that there's a lot of steps in making kid and there are plenty of existing and emerging forms of contraceptives for both men and women. If you get a woman pregnant somehow, and the child gets born, you made that kid. You need to do something about the kid. That's your responsibility. They're a person now, they're on the grid, they have to eat and be clothed. Of course, you can surrender your paternity rights, but not for the sole purpose of not wanting to pay child support.

Besides, abortion is usually a joint decision by both partners. It's not like women are running around getting abortions behind their partner's backs

I'll be honest, I don't really understand why you hold the views you do. It seems like you see this as a zero sum game where because women benefit more from abortion (and even though men also I would say overall benefit from it as well, it's not on the same level) it's unfair and you want it to be perfectly fair.

But in that case, I don't get it, why isn't your view then that abortion should require both the man and woman to agree to it otherwise it's a no? Then they both have a say but it can still benefit people. Both have an equal opportunity to "trap" the other. Is it not also fair in your view at that point? and overall I would say better for society than a bunch of unwanted babies.
