Personally, I think "the current RP theory" is just not correct in any significant sense. Most women marry men they're sexually attracted to. Sure there are some exceptions, but they're rare, and some are easy to spot (the 90-year-old billionaire whose wife is a 23-year-old former cocktail waitress knows what's up; I suppose less egregious examples might be more of a "thing" in places with a lot of single moms working minimum wage). But it's generally not a thing.

If anything, a woman's friends will look down on her for entering a relationship with someone "beneath her" in any respect. There's a girl in my circles who everyone HATED her boyfriend because he was stuffy and uptight, and we were all delighted when she dumped him. If a woman appears to be dating a schlub because she'll marry anything at this point, her friends will, at least in the environments I'm most familiar with, be WAY more squeamish about this than if she stayed single.

And maybe the FSM changes because the majority of women feel the urge to settle down, and those pressures are designed to make the other women fall in line so they aren't available to "lure away" their plowhorse, and so that they themselves can feel comfortable not missing out on the experience of buffeting on even more alpha cock.

Sure, women want to be married and have offspring. This is due to biology and reinforced by not just the FSM, but pressure from family as well. Riding the CC is just the modern variation of dual mating strategy, except that women rarely have the alpha’s kid anymore due to effective birth control, although it tends to still happen among the lower classes who often for one reason or another forego birth control

It was never the implication of duplicity that got me. It was the total sincerity. Was also thinking about @barely_moral's 70% of husbands earn more than their wives statistic and would love to cross-reference it with unmarried women's income, stratify it by socioeconomic class, or profession perhaps, then segment out those who had children vs not. I'd wager that, all things being equal, childless couples incomes will be a lot closer to 50/50 due to the huge skew due to SAHM $0 income.

Women get married as they get older because they have a limited window to have children. And most would agree that a two parent household is ideal for raising and providing for children.

But it's also attributed to the fact that people change as they age. They get better jobs, they make more money, they have less free time. So as you get older you just have less time and energy to spend dating and looking for potential lays all the time. So marriage really is just a conservation of time and energy, which is what humans love to do.

My justification for being married by the time I'm thirty is because I want the status of being married from my family and peers. And hearing my boyfriend vow that level of commitment would just be a new level of the relationship. Yeah we want to be together, but to tell each other that we are going to bind ourselves to each other is a serious declaration.

Depends on how you frame it. Widely? Yes.

But she'll just choose other spinsters, which is self reinforcing.

So rather than subject herself to judgement of the 90%, she'll associate with the 10%.

If she really, honestly, honest to god, never wants kids, staying in that 10% is fine. She'll get shit from family or friends of friends, but she'll be isolated.

If she wants kids, she has to own up to reality that she has a fertility window and that most men are marrying out of college.

This is always reframed as "women can have kids much later and many men are holding off" but this isn't really true. This is basically the 10% echo chamber.

This is only happening in very liberal areas, and honestly, all you need to do is look at this image.

I wanted a real marriage and provider and so on even in high school, just because of the culture of where I grew up, I didn’t even realize I could remotely ask for that or hope for it. Men who approach very young women are not that marriage minded. I was in a very liberal area and I’m sure that was part of it. Some guys did strongly hint at wanting more, but my own fear of marriage coupled with not even realizing I deserved it could expect that, made me not even realize. No regrets bc they wouldn’t have been great anyway.

A young woman still figuring things out often attracts a guy figuring things out. I was actually intimidated by guys doing really well and thought there would be pressure to keep up with lots of things I didn’t want to

What changed over time was my standards, and probably the market too. Men had time to work on their mission and were ready for family. I realized that what I wanted wasn’t some crazy pipe dream. And men knew that women in late 20s early 30s weren’t looking for a fling. In my late 20s and past, I never had hardly any push pull over wanting something more serious than the guy did or moving too fast. That only happened when I first started dating when I was much younger.

FSM hasn't affected my life since college. My woman friends are various vagabonds, many sex workers although not exclusively. The ones that went mommy mode drifted apart and its good to spend time with them periodically, they don't have enough insight into my life to judge if they saw to do so. Aside from that I dropped a lot of the judgemental shitty FSM friends in my 20s who weren't kind or aligned with what I wanted from friendship.

That's just me, although I'm not a snowflake, there are plenty out there. Most people never leave the community, culture, and socioecon class they started in.

Since divorce is so common, its not a big deal to be unmarried anymore. That being said, in the corporate world I do feel some vague pressure to present because of the age and level of client I now interface with. Plus this is the south, a touch more uptight. My jeweler friend gave me a legit wedding ring. When I'm out on the field visiting customers I've been rocking it. No one asks and I don't tell, its just a little projection of "I'm like you" for their comfort. Hasn't affected my business in anyway, more precautionary.
