The amount of date a younger woman here alarms me. Do TRP really think that's a reality? The typical age gap is only 4 years and after a man turns 38 himself woman his age prefer younger partners just like he does.

The only people willing to date typical middle aged people is middle aged people.

single mothers aren't really that common outside of poor people communities. I know a lot of people but can only think of 2 single mothers and both of them are so preoccupied with kid stuff that they rarely ever go on dates or anything.

women in their 30s who are desperate to get married and have a kid are more common. but most of them aren't worth dating. they all have serious red flags (otherwise someone would have married them by now) and they're looking for a perfect super high value guy who is successful and wealthy and sexy but also wants to settle down and get married and have kids ASAP. but those super high value guys aren't going to bother with desperate, post-wall crazy women when they can just ass easily get younger, hotter, less insane girls.

and the funny thing is it's actually easier to date hotter mid 20s girls than mid 30s girls. a 25 year old isn't nearly as worried about her biological clock and is still focused on having fun and enjoying life. compare that to a 35 year old who is basically treating every date like a job interview to be her forever husband.

As people have said, you can aim younger if you don't want an LTR. The other option is aim for the ones 40 or just above who have given up and are usually just up for casual.

It's also not that hard to find women who are in denial about age mattering with babies and who think theyve still got another ten years.

As for the group you identified, I have found that plenty of them won't state upfront that they want a baby as they know that'll put you off. Plus, there are women who would rather be single than rush the process and wind up with a turkey for a husband/baby father.

This only apply to ltr and after 35 most men want children too, so not much of a poison. However, there are around 15-20% of women who never get around to having children. That's a pretty big minority to fish in if you don't want any children of your own.

Other option: you can date someone who doesn’t expect you to be their kid‘s 3rd parent. You’re just the kid’s friend without being responsible for them, and everyone is cool with that.

Works best if the couple doesn’t believe in marriage or completely merging assets. Less confusion overall. Probably a small demographic, but it can and does work.

Example: my partner has a kid from a previous relationship. He doesn’t want any more. I never want children. He has weekend custody of his kid. When I’m around, I’m friendly with her, offer support if there’s a conflict, but don’t get involved in making/enforcing rules because it isn’t my place. We keep our expenses separate, but I don’t mind sharing my snacks with her, if her dad is ok with it. I’m not expected to do “mom stuff,“ because I’m not her mom. She has one of those. I am not a free babysitter and will only take on that role in an actual emergency (life/death).

Kiddo likes me, partner appreciates my emotional support and respects my autonomy and wish to avoid a direct parental role, as that simply isn’t important to me, I lack that maternal drive. Works out, but it’s not terribly common.
