There are a lot of people in the RPsphere who believe we should return to the patriarchy or that the patriarchy is sustainable and can survive in general. In my opinion that is a misguided view, I used to think like that for a while too but it seems completely unachievable and also overall, I think something like that would do more harm than good.

Here are some arguments I have heard about why the patriarchy is needed: (I think all of them are misguided and based on very thin evidence)

1)We need the patriarchy because the civilization is going to collapse! All feminist societies get inevitably conquered by patriarchal societies. (This one was in the RPW sidebar in the past too)

In my opinion, this is a view that is based on very thin evidence. There has never been a truly feminist civilization in the past for us to know how it would turn out. All of the examples of pro-feminist or more "feminized" civilizations that collapsed they bring up, like ancient Rome where supposedly women had some rights, didn't collapse because of female emancipation in particular, but for a variety of reasons. In general it is a view that cannot be proven and there are barely any examples of that happening. There have been way more patriarchal civilizations in the past that got conquered than supposedly feminized civilizations.

In general it is a view that is not based on hard evidence at all , therefore I don't think it should be taken seriously. One other reason why I think this view is flawed is that actually western civilization, despite being "feminized" is the most dominant in the world and heavily influences other cultures. They are teaching English in schools almost everywhere, people from all around the world grow up watching American movies and wanting to be like an American and the American military is fearsome, therefore I don't understand how some Americans think that their civilization and culture are in danger.

2)We need the patriarchy because otherwise there will be a beta uprising! It's unfair that so many men can't get laid.

First of all, how many people are truly incel? I think most get laid at least a few times in their lives. Second of all, how can there be a beta uprising because of lack of sex? Is there evidence of that actually ever happening because of lack of sex? Even in Japan where ther is a big problem with people not having sex, it doesn't look like there's going to be a "beta uprising" anytime soon. Thirdly, is the patriarchy truly a good system for men? It seems to me that patriarchal societies of today are quite harsh for both men and women.

3)White race!

White nationalists want to return to the patriarchy in order to have more white babies, as if what the world needs right now is competition between the races about who should have more babies, instead of trying to decrease the population all together. Their perception is flawed in my opinion. Birth rates are actually declining everywhere, not only in white nations, you can google it and see that it is a worldwide phenomenon. The white race is not going to disappear and in general I disagree with the worldview of white nationalists and find their fixation on race ridiculous.

To sum up, I think all arguments for the need of a patriarchy are flawed, over-optimistic, based on little to no evidence and I don't see how the return to the patriarchy can be achieved by anything than violence.

Edit: For those who say that the patriarchy never existed, you all know I'm talking about strict sexual monogamy in traditionalism, so no reason to start playing with words.
