Since most in here just responded with "nah, wouldn't do", let me give a response that's probably a bit more balanced and may actually help explaining that phenomenon.

Reading through the thread about obese women's n count made me think of this. As a female I just find this so bizarre. How can you enjoy sex with someone you find unattractive?

This depends on what you mean with "unattractive". If you take it literally, as in "unable to attract", then yeah, sure, it would be strange. If you take it as "she isn't pretty, she is actually below average" (or "she has a pretty face, but is really fat"), then things are different, because this still leaves the option that she's nevertheless still fuckable.

To illustrate this, an example: Amy Schumer. Her face is, in my book, notably below average. Her body isn't that appealing either, and with this I don't even refer to her weight but her weight distribution (i.e. her curves aren't really hot). And don't get me started on her crude personality, or at least her public persona (which probably isn't that different from her in real life).

And still I would say that she's fuckable - I just wouldn't be interested in more (and, given the fact that a lot of her standup routine is based on her past as a high-N trainwreck, it seems I am not the only one who thinks like this).

On the other hand, there are women whom I consider less hard on the eyes than Amy but whom I nevertheless wouldn't touch. Why that? Simple: femininity. Amy Schumer, despite her lack of attractiveness, still radiates feminine sexuality. Those women whom I wouldn't consider fuckable lack that - they appear too masculine, gender-neutral, void of charm and appeal etc.. Basically, they don't trigger any visceral sexual reaction whatsoever in my brain. In other words: it's less of a question of "attractive vs. unattractive" and more one of "sexual vs. not sexual".

Of course, there are also women who are utterly repulsive by default and regardless of anything else, like, say, Trigglypuff. But they're a distinct minority. (and now keep in mind that Trigglypuff, at least according to her dating profile, still slutted it up big time)

Although, I also come from the pre-internet generation so in our time beggars couldn't be choosers. There was no unlimited number of super-fit Internet Sirens to slake our lust with. It was real women or your imagination, and even ugly women were better than just your imagination.

Guys today with unlimited free internet porn have a different trade-off... and I'm convinced this is why so many men are incels. What does unattractive mean in this context?

If it's based solely on weight, I would rather smack my head against the wall than have sex with a fat girl. The idea of fat turns me off immediately.

If it's based on just how they look, there is a category for girls I'd fuck, but wouldn't pursue.

However, there are degrees of attractiveness and instances where some aspect of someone’s physical appearance is attractive enough to sleep with, but not to be stuck in a permanent relationship with.

There's a difference between "un"-attractive and less attractive. Almost nobody is fucking people they find completely unattractive, but the vast majority of women are at least a little attractive to most men.

My line for little attraction to no attraction is somewhere between 2000 Hillary Clinton and 2008 Hillary Clinton for reference. That leaves room for plenty of women who are objectively unattractive compared to other women, but have non-zero attraction for me.

Why should one get into a relationship with one just because they fucked them? Seems a pretty stupid reason to get into a relationship really.

So many guys complain about being single but don't want to date someone they find unattractive. If you would enjoy having sex with that person then why does it matter how conventionally attractive they are.

Looks matter more to men than women, I thought that was well established fact. More so one has to look at that person every day or least every time one's having sex. And long term having one you are physically attractive to will play out better for the long term. Being sexually compatible is something I consider a key part of any relationship.

That depends entirely on how long one goes without sex. If I haven't gotten laid by a new girl in that ten days to two weeks span of time I'll dramatically lower my standards for the night purely for validation and release. I don't date at all but I'm extremely selective when it comes to girls I will have sex with more than once and partake in activities with that aren't overtly sexual in design.

It's not always about "enjoying" it physically but about the psychological validation. Having a high n-count is validating for a lot of men because they're lead to believe (whether by nature or by nurture) that a high-quality man should be able to get a lot of women.

These men don't start relationships with these women because there was no imperative to even fuck them in the first place other than the fact that they were easy and available. Getting into a monogamous relationship with such a woman would mean giving in to the idea that she and I are equal in attractiveness or desirability, or that she's the best I can do. And I don't want to believe that about someone who I find unattractive.

No, I need the self validation as much as the getting off. I need to know that the girl is attractive to me, I need to know I truly want her. If she isn't, then I don't enjoy it at all. Women have the same mindset, it's usually self validation > getting off, so that's why I don't get pissy at them. They need to know the guy they're fucking is hot, that they are genuinely attracted to them, unless they are getting paid to do it or whatever, then they're getting the self validation to be making money, and even then they still feel dirty doing it.

Yes and no.

I went throughout a long period recently with a face that was a mass of scars and nose partially out of place then swelling and bruising from surgeries etc. I can go without sex but I can't easily go without sexual/sensual contact. So I received oral from a gay friend who was not even the right gender but it feels good for someone to work to make you feel good. A lack of intimate physical contact makes me feel alone, disconnected, worthless and lethargic.

If I get thirsty enough I'll go for anyone who isn't actively repulsive to me.

I have dated a couple of girls that might be considered unattractive, but they were attractive enough to me and an emotional connection is a plus 2.
