Not enough real problems

The root cause of all this is two very distinct things.

1) 2nd and 3rd wave feminism has penetrated and saturated mainstream thought and totally infected culture and the legal system. A PC fascism has fostered fear of expression and new ideas which has paralyze discourse.

2) Globalism and poor political leadership has completely stagnated wages and high paying job growth people are barely making ends meet, even if they've done everything right and gone to college.

edit. I want to add a third key factor that isn't a cause but an extreme aggravate of all these issues. In the US we have a media that is more profit driven then it is public interests and ethics driven. People actually notice this and seek the 'truth' elsewhere. This means that most people get their news in different bubbles which has a cleaving and polarizing effect on the populace. There's a TED talks about this type of media consumption Here:

Other than having a high stress job, my every day life is not an endless drama of political infighting and ideological anguish. That seems to be more of a feature of reddit, college campuses, and activist culture of which I am not a part. My guess is my experience is closer to the norm of every day life than what you are seeing.

Life in the US isn't any more chaotic than any other country it's just that our society is disproportionately driven by TV and its ads.

That's what change looks like. The US is still working through the aftermath of major social shifts over the last century. It takes time to do so. Just look into Europe's past and I'm sure you'll see similar things popping up here and there.

Number One: RELAX. It's going to be OK - the Western World is not yet doomed - we just need a change. A revolutionary change.

Number Two: In history this is common to have cycles of suffering / revolution / growth / status quo / suffering and the cycle continues.

Right now we are seeing greater and greater instability due to previous revolutionary movements (civil rights, feminism) which disrupted the way genders and races interact with eachother.

Without the rigid, yet arbitrary rules, instability has occurred as a result as a common person will inevitably be a result of their social conditioning.

The rules from the past were not ethical, as it prevented people with certain skills that could benefit humanity from arising to their callings. Just based upon their sex and race alone.

So this is the situation we are in now. We are in need of new revolutionary thinkers who can influence society and allow us to grow forward into a better more harmonious civilization. Its of course up to chance that such revolutionary thinkers will come to fruition and live out their goal to bring society back to peace and prosperity. But the good news is as things get worse and worse and suffering gets higher and higher, these revolutionary thinkers will feel more and more compelled to address those issues.

And there is no lack of evidence in history that revolutionary people come to be and push humanity forward as a species.

Only time will tell if the revolutionary thinkers of today will be able to make a difference.

There is a huge split among rich and poor coming to the west. This is bringing out the freaks and weirdos and extremist view because everyone wants to blame their failures on someone else.

We're in for some interesting times ahead of us. With more millenials struggling to find jobs as they realize the jobs from people who are retiring are obsolete and almost everything will be automated.

This decade will be known to me as the decade where people all started using victimhood as the primary attempted path to power. That is what you're seeing, those movements, the movements that came about as a result of and in opposition to those movements, and everybody in between.

It is a shame economy, where the "rich" - those who can redirect conversations and try to change policy - are those who can produce the most feelings of shame in those who hold power.

Someone discovered that they could sell newspapers and pageviews with outrage porn.

Soon, entirely schools of thought sprung up based on worldviews which were solely informed by a steady diet of outrage porn.

Then these group become socially and politically powerful, and set about creating conditions which were just as outrageous, but real.

Then other groups formed as a backlash to these real world conditions, and their anger was indistinguishable in degree from the original outrage porn-fed groups.

Political polarization. In years past it was OK to disagree but now if you don't toe the far left line prepare to have your political offices firebombed. Cultural Marxism has become absolutely ingrained due to promotion by major players. The right is sick of it and it seems like everyone is waiting for someone to do something about it

I'm gonna assume you're Vietnamese since it's your username. As far as things go, you seem to focus more on the negative instead of the positive. I mean you know how the saying goes "If you stare at the abyss long enough, the abyss stares back at you"

Though, I have to agree with you on the fact that the Western side of the world is heading to a delicate, fragile state right now. But it's not to blame on the people but rather the current system of our governments. They are getting a bit incompetent

We have a number of bad institutions who have been looking to advantage their own group at the expense of others (feminists, regressives, wall street, washington etc.)

These groups might demarcate along lines of gender, race, class, profession, etc.

Mainstream media in the west has exaserpated the problem by purposefully drumming up tensions (example, two white guys and a black guy get shot by cops one morning in America, every paper fills a double spread on the black guy because they know the black guys will go crazy & riot, and emotion sells a news story).

Up until this point my assessment of the situation is that in the identity politics game the "old guard" - that would be white males, has been playing for team 'everybody' up until very recently, and now many are realizing that this is a losing proposition when everybody else is just making a play for power.
