I'd choose the rich girl, not only because of the money, but because of the parents.

In the poor girl's case, their parents are disabled with brain damage, which means that sooner or later I'd have to help taking care of them, not only actually taking care, but also potentially including helping to pay for whatever health-related bills - doctor, medicines and whatever else. They're her parents, not mine. I'm dating her, not her family, and you know that having to put up with the girl's family is part of the deal.

That aside, answering your question:

Yes, I think so, but I also think it's not that relevant for men. In that very specific scenario you put in the OP, having money surely sweetens the deal, since both girls are basically clones of each other except for the money.

In my case, I don't care whether the girl comes from a rich family. I do care that she has a job and helps to pay the bills though. I don't want any freeloaders in my life.

Women that come from rich families are more likely to have a shitty personalities, I've found. Honestly, her families level of wealth is more important to me than her personal wealth.

It's not even necessarily shallow. I usually prefer girls who haven't been spoiled in wealthy families but if I have to weigh the trouble she and I might have in the future that's a real problem. Caring for her family will be a serious challenge without money.

Neither. Rich families resent you unless you are at the same SES (been there, done that). Poor families expect you to take care of them as well as the girl.

It might be a red flag regarding the one whose parents are drug addicts. If they were poor and their parents mopped floors or washed dishes (not drug addicts), that might be different.

Rich, but only if she has experience in managing her own money.

Otherwise, I'd go poor, because she would have been forced to deal with financial issues.

One of my requirements for LTR+ women is that they are able to manage their own lives without me, because if they can't, how can they possibly deal with managing our children if we should ever have any?

Given everithing else is equal - rich. Its not like money doesnt metter to me at all, but I wouldnt want to compromise on other issues. If the poor girl is more clever, honest, loyal, just more into me, the money difference will just not even come into consideration.

Everything is never equal. Having more or less money introduces all kinds of variables that will potentially change the value of the person. IME, poor people are more likely to be stupid. But then you find your people who grew up poor and worked really hard to achieve something. These can be some of the best partners because they value hard work.

On the other hand, rich people are typically very educated and you don't have to worry about financial troubles with them. On the other hand, they are often more entitled, bratty, and lacking in life skills because they were raised by money instead of parents.

Sure, in a vacuum, with all else being equal, you'd rather your partner have more money. However, in the real world, we all know its not that simple. It makes me sick how people judge others based on their incomes. It's even more ridiculous seeing them try to rationalize it

Surgeons aren't that rich. I'm more interested in the wealth of knowledge she'd bring to the family.

The poor girl is poor through no fault of her own, so if all else is equal then hopefully that means she inherited wealth of knowledge and intelligence from her parents (who are unfortunately just disabled through no fault of their own).

If I had guarantees of "ideal personality", then I might go for poor girl, because I have a minor saviour complex. I have money, and have full faith in my ability to make more money on my own if i needed it.

In reality, your scenario is way too contrived. That "poor girl" who only became that way due to unfortunate circumstances really shouldn't have stayed poor that long. Upper class have upper class education, values, connections, and support systems. They shouldn't have to stay poor in stable advanced societies unless through personal failings for the most part.

A cousin of mine divorced recently and was out of house. My brother and I basically invested in a home on her behalf when she should have been homeless. Connections!

To answer the second part of your question, money only adds to a woman's value when all things are equal. Of course, this hypothetical would never happen so I would choose the sexier women every time (if I had to choose one over the other) if they had equal personalities. However, better personality girl though will always be #1 regardless of wealth or sexiness for any kind of relationships (fuck buddy or commitment).

Your question is dumb, as the premise is impossible. Two girls with completely different backgrounds will never have the same personality. The rich girl is guaranteed to be much more spoiled and her personality will be way different.

Rich girl. She'll inherit dad's money. if the marriage stays together, we both benefit. If the marriage ends, she is less likely to receive alimony since she has her own sources of income.

Money does add to a woman's RMV, but not too much. A woman's RMV has to do with her traits of loyalty, fidelity, domestic skills, willingness to have and raise children, and ability to avoid being completely governed by her emotions at least some of the time.

I would pick the rich girl and aim to get married to her. Once we are married I'll quit my job and be a house husband. At that point, I would be entitled to half what she makes per year.

Then I'd play it cool. If she's a good woman I'll stick around and be mostly monogamous. I would try to ride it out as long as possible so if I later decide to cash-out (divorce) I will have more years of alimony to take.
