Are men with tattoos a red flag for a rpw lifestyle?

While I personally don’t like tattoos, it really depends on his character first and foremost. I believe one of the ladies here has an SO with tattoos. If he has a good heart, treats you right, and you’re attracted to him, then it’s really your personal call. If you don’t like tattoos, then all the more power to you. But I don’t necessarily think there’s a “prerequisite” for combating an RPW lifestyle in regards to tattoos. They’re just pictures, inked into the skin 🤷‍♀️

Idk depends, I’ve met a lot of chill, responsible men with sleeve tats and I’ve met a lot of fuckboys who look like you could take them to meet the parents. Depends mainly where you meet them and what they do in life. Appearances can be deceiving

The young ones are very accepting of your flaws. Typically big softys. However, the ex name tattoo/LV/gang stuff is not a good sign. What they choose means more than if they have them.

I don’t think tattoos correlate with character on men. There are surgeons, lawyers, businessmen, and teachers/professors who are hiding full sleeves under their work clothes. Judge the man for how he treats you and who he is rather than letting his tattoos be a red flag.

I’m not that attracted to tattoos. I just really like the look of smooth male skin with muscle definition. But this is more of a physical preference and if I met an outstanding guy with a bunch of tattoos, I wouldn’t think it’s a red flag and would definitely give him a chance if I was single.

I mean, what do you think about it? Do you find them attractive? Having tattoos doesn't necessarily mean poor character. It's very much cultural. Do you come from a culture where it is acceptable to have a lot of tattoos? If you don't come from a culture where having sleeves are acceptable, would you be embarrassed that your significant other did?

Being attracted to your man is important, as is being proud of him. It might be easier to change the kind of man who is attracted to you than to change your own perception of tattoos.

The only thing I'd say is beware men who get what I call "career limiting tattoos". What the means very much depends on their career. For a while, that meant no tattoos at all for me. Now, just means nothing that can be seen when I wear a suit. It really is different for each guy and what he wants to do with his life. But that's also a good indicator for you as well.

Not necessarily as tattoos are more socially acceptable even popular and trendy now. Although I'm not interested in men who need to be loud and express themself in that way. Ink is a huge turn off for me as I prefer more traditional men. I've met plenty of quality men with ink when I worked in a more artsy part of the city. If you're into ink and subcultures that heavy tattoos are a part of there's nothing wrong with that. If you're not maybe examine why you aren't attracting more traditional men. It could be how you dress, present yourself, the types of places you visit, your career choice, where you live, etc.

Edit: what tattoos they have and why is more important than how many. Racist tattoos, tattoos of women, violent tattoos, etc are red flags.

No tattoos or even piercings should not have a relation to a persons character or intent. For most people it’s a sense of artistic expression. Just like the way we dress or do our hair. However, at the end of the day what matters are your attraction preferences. Everybody isn’t for every one. Where I’m at rn I let the actions do the talking and I def am interested in knowing the reasons behind people tattoos. They are great convo starters. Hope this helps 😊

no. look at his character. i know plenty of doctors, dentists, lawyers, engineers, teachers (all jobs are great but i’m using these higher education examples to get my point across) who have tattoos.

It really depends on the person. My husbands entire friend group (of married, attractive, late 20’s, Christian, traditional men) ALL have tattoo sleeves. I think tattoos on men are very normal now and I definitely wouldn’t accept/reject a man just on that alone.

Neck tattoos are getting up there with hand/face tattoos though and they may signal they’re a little less traditional. Any tattoo that can’t be covered by a dress shirt may mean they lean a bit more no traditional

I’ve always thought tattoos were trashy for men and women. I understand that now many people have ink, however. When I was growing up, only rough people or old men who had been in the military had tats. Apparently now I’m in the minority since I don’t care for them.

my man has ink that’s not easy to hide (& says he plans to get more, like full sleeves), he has gauges too. he likes metal & has played drums all his life. he wears band t-shirts that he cuts up, drummer-style. i love it all because i love him & it’s part of who he is. he’s got good heart, he’s got everything i want in a guy, & he treats me like a princess so why would i count him out just because of how he likes to express himself? that’s just how i feel about it.

it’s really up to you to decide whether or not it’s something you could accept on your man. if so, then don’t worry about it. if not, then just don’t date men who do. it’s whatever you prefer & decide works for you. i haven’t seen anything in this sub that explicitly states you could never be with a man who’s got an unconventional style or that it is something to worry about (unless he’s got gang tattoos or tattoos on his face, although most people would tell you that’s a sign of irresponsibility regardless of their personal beliefs).

My husband has a half sleeve and a medium sized tattoo on the inside of his other arm. I love them, I think tattoos look really sexy. He’s a traditional guy, and he actually got them after we were married. One is a piece symbolizing personal growth (he got it after completing his rookie year on the Fire Department) and the other represents myself and our children (it’s not the typical name or face tattoos). They were extremely expensive and done by a talented artist, so they don’t look trashy or cheap. I think when it comes to tattoos that’s a huge factor - if you’re gonna do it, do it right.

Anyway, my husband is a great husband and daddy, good provider, hard worker...I definitely don’t see any connection between tattoos and non-traditional ideals.

I recently saw an unpopular opinion on Twitter about tattoos. It was that people who get them are impulsive and show a lack of long-term planning capability. Agree 100%! Avoid intimate relationships with people who have them at all costs! Those 2 reasons also explain why men should avoid women with tattoos as well, IMHO.

Tattoos aren’t inherently a red flag, but they’re great for getting to know if he has any red flags or just getting to know his character in general. Ask him about the meaning of all of his tattoos, you’ll get to know a lot about him very fast.

I personally find them to be a huge turn off and likely a deal breaker. I expect the same sentiment from my partner. I'm not especially trad or anything, I just find them tacky and difficult to look at.

My husband has a sleeve. He was in the process of getting it when we met and he's got other smaller ones. Personally I think they're mostly a waste of money, but tattoos are some of the last concerns for me in picking a man, unless they're on the face or hands. And even then it's more about someone's character. Unless you're horribly unattracted to tattoos, which is fine, don't worry about it IMO.

This is a matter of preference. Tattoos don’t send the same message across the board. People may get tattooed for cultural reasons, personal reasons like commemorative pieces, or simply because they love a design so much they want it on their skin forever. If the level of attraction you feel towards someone with tattoos degrades if they’re heavily tattooed, it makes no sense to date the man who’s inked from neck to his ankles. It might not affect your attraction towards a man who might one on his shoulder or forearm or something like that. Or maybe it will. Some people have zero attraction towards others with any tattoos at all. Different strokes for different folks.

Not at all. One of the most intelligent, funny and kindest men I know who’s a doctor in emergency medicine has many extremely large tattoos on both his arms and he doesn’t cover or hide them at work!

One of my favorite role models is a former Miss Earth Canada that's married with a man that has a lot of tattoos! My husband had a few and I'm dying for him to get more, I love how they look on him! Tattoos aren't red flags, the wrong attitudes and personal values are.

I "judge" what it's a tattoo of, the reason behind it, and its quality (to some extent). I might laugh at a certain kind of tattoo on a wimpy hipster, while not batting an eye or giving a second thought to the same style tattoo on a Chad. Does that make me a bad person? Lol

Tattoos doesnt mean anything. The history of tattoos is pretty interesting if you go back a littel. At some cultures it was to mark a Criminal. In others it was to show someone is a hero.

At least 2 things can be said about someone with tattoos:

- the person is willing to have a very painful time to get what he or she wants

- the person can commit to a lifelong change.

Some Tattoos are for memory, some are to honor someone,. some are just LOL FUN, some are to cover scares, some are too attract likewise people.
