I think half the people married shouldn't even attempt it. They have the wrong mindset, bring in all their bad dating habits into the marriage and basically make it LTR 2.0; which is not compatible with marriage.

TRP and MRP, while great information, have a serious issue with perception. They seek to make a buyer beware market so they can maximize their return will minimizing their investment. It's very nature is to be short term success; not long term success with marriage.

MRP is called TRP on hard mode. But I believe they do it wrong because they need to keep their crap wife acting right and without it, they won't.

I think your calculation forgets second marriages etc. Men are more likely to marry again after a divorce than women. First marriages generally have the highest failure rate from people marrying young. Lower classes have the highest failure rate from being poor. Large age gaps have the highest failure rate from being different.

Clearly you've shown that marriage is an outdated institution that most people shouldn't choose. People should be single, independent, and mostly practice serial monogamy if they don't have much time to devote to relationships (who does? LOL).

One exception might be if you really want kids and find someone that really wants kids. Still marriage is not required but at least committing to each other long enough to launch the kids is probably best.

But yeah, when you remove societal expectation then the natural number for marriage is probably somewhere between 10 and 20 percent.

For the rest of us, it's just a terrible decision that will most likely backfire.

First that they aren't "movements" but "communities". They don't actively try to change reality just take care of themselves and discuss things.

There communities are small and to my knowledge will always be. Most don't have any intention of joining them, but may agree that marriage is a bad idea.

But yes, marriage will continue to diminish as more and more people consider it less interesting.

I'm personally expecting another massive raise in divorce statistics but from feminism.

My generation is about to get married and have kids and a lot of them are very vocal about rather divorcing then taking up more then their fair share of the child raising in housework. Or in their words "if I divorce then at least I get 50% time off".

As with everything it begins with the individual...so:

Men need to be Red Pilled young. They need to be able to vet women carefully. They need to be comfortable in their masculinity. The need to know to associate with better men.
Women need to be Red Pilled too (their red pill is different to men - accepting their biological clock, their hypergamy and having a realistic sense of their 'sexual marketplace value' etc). They need to chase their own excellence in their way, manage their expectations and see what sets them up to have happier relationships and what doesn't.

The more people see life with a red pill lens the more they will reject most of the degenerate culture that sets us up to fail if we want stable, successful marriage. Red Pill enough people and this will begin to feed into the culture and even into the political system...anyone who rejects the dying cultural value of isolation and hyperindividualism will red pill themselves and do their best to red pill others.

While marriage remains a problematic prospect from a legal perspective for men in North America and a number of other parts of the world there will be less incentive to do it in any case.

Everything the Red Pill teaches men is beneficial for us first and foremost. Being more attractive to women, being able to better vet them etc. Strong, red pilled men can raise better sons and daughters, and their frame is strong enough to led some women away from the modern culture.

Even if we have nothing to do with women, living a red pilled life is living a better life. We have very selfish incentives to do it...and everything to gain from it growing around the world.

Your analysis is flawed. The purpose of marriage is to get men to provide for females.

Divorce was legalized and socially accepted because it made it possible for females to trade up to a better provider.

That's not going to happen now, so we can expect the culture to go the other way and incentivize men to go back to playing Ward Cleaver.

TRP and similar would barely be a blip. Same with FDS. They are tiny, tiny subcultures that most people will never hear of, and I would venture that they are symptomatic outgrowths of a broad cultural decline in marriage.

Marriage has been in decline for a very long time. Check out The Hearts of Men, by Barbara Ehrenreich. She posits that there have been loosening social pressures on men to get married/provide, and that response from men is to just ride it out and be free of those responsibilities. As late as the '70s, young men who hadn't gotten married were still seen as ill, and possibly gay. In the '50s, not getting married young was pathologized as actual bonafide immaturity.

Women might be the majority of people initiating divorce, but I think men are the ones leading the charge for not getting married in the first place. Honestly, I think it's possible that it's an institution that doesn't serve anyone well anymore.

tl;dr: marriage has been in decline for decades, since the '50s. TRP/MGTOW/other anti-marriage cultures are probably a symptom, not a cause.

IMO TRP is a waste of time as many of its statements are based on a misinterpretation of statistics, what constitutes a fact, and reality in general. Here I will demonstrate some flaws:

Right now in my country around 20% of people never marry. Out of the 80% that do, almost two thirds divorce. That leaves us with 32% of the total population, but around one third of that 32% are separated couples not legally divorced. 22% remaining. And out of that, up to half are "cheaper-to-keep-her" situations, where they wish they were divorced or at least separated but they can't split for economical reasons.

First off, Where are you getting these stats?

Secondly, you are assuming that in order to be happy you must get and remain married, which is an unfounded conclusion.

These people may not wish for marriage, be content without it, be in happy long term relationships and simply not get a marriage licence as is becoming more common. There are other reasons to not get married that do not involve being serially unhappy.

Not true. Again, people can remarry, form long term relationships outside of marriage or other things. This still includes the implied conclusion that you need a romantic life to be happy, which is a very easily arguable topic.

Who cares if people divorce? It means they were unhappy and can try again with someone else.

People change. Someone you loved to begin with may change into someone you don’t. The person you thought you loved may have never existed and you just projected desires into them. The person you thought you loved may turn out to not really be that person at all.

What we can do is accept that relationships will not always work out, and stop trying to force people to get married and then to stay married.

Communities are fine even with divorce. We are living in the time of which living is the best it has ever been, a time of unparalleled progress and happiness. Divorce rates might be higher, but they were once illegal and later heavily stigmatized, think of all the unhappy marriages of the past. People can now freely bow out of a bad relationship, thereby increasing their happiness. Clearly divorce is a terrible measure of human happiness and I call on this sub to stop using it as a metric for how well society is doing until people understand statistics better.
